I mean uh

The hammers were largely town driven, with the exception of Alison where most people (myself included!) hadn't read the rules closely enough, it's town's fault for hammering when they maybe shouldn't have. There's no mandatory use of hammer /shrug

i think thats unfair to the town players who didnt participate or condone the majs though

especially the ones who literally werent there to even be able to voice disagreement (amy mainly)

i mean, basically everything was town driven after N1 because you were the only wolf left :p

we played poorly, this is true. but it can also be true that majority shouldn’t have been enabled in the first place

seconding

not that i wasn't salty initially [and not that i'm not still a LITTLE salty...]

but i think it's been agreed that the play was suboptimal and thus i don't want you to beat yourself up over it. 's just a game, at the end of the day

also the PPG meme was both excellent and hilariously accurate on all fronts

Eh, I mean...if you know maj is a thing, you've gotta play around it or accept the consequences imo. We've played light games with hammer in the past and town's used it fine

look at it from amy pov

is she to share the entire rest of the town's blame for the recklessness?

im talking about on a "every individual players" pov not a "town as a whole" pov

for me i think it was the combo of the post cap and majority being enabled that really stunted discussion a ton especially at the end

there was so much dense mech stuff to talk about and not actually being able to work through it at the end there was rough

but it’s ok. it wasn’t a huge deal. just not something i’d suggest again for a setup like this

the two sides of the same coin lol

I liked the experiment, I think I liked how it played out, I think it was a good learning moment. I agree with this general sentiment per denser games with post caps

Though Nanook recently hosted a more dense mechanical setup with a lower post cap and actually it also went very confusingly for town now that I think about it

ya that was the intended joke, was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek

thanks for the host, there were definitely some cool elements to the setup. inventor was pretty cool; most of the roles in general were pretty cool, i like the concept of flavorcops, etc etc.

i thought you were very much town!amy for the whole game really

only reason i considered you was because it just got to that point where mech wise everyone else seemed more clear

but even when you should have been basically outed wolf from my pov (as tutuu said), i still didn’t wanna push you because you still seemed towny to me

so like, i think you projected town just fine. but when villagers start to run out of options or it seems like mechanically someone has to be clear, they will twist themselves into knots to wolf read even the most obvious of villagers

(see: me end gaming in anni and hard clearing every remaining wolf on faulty mech)

Besides the brief personal attacks and the "fuck me my team is dead and now I have to carry, fuck fuck fuck," i actually had a good deal of fun this game, certainly a lot more than I usually do when I roll mafia!

i know i went back and forth on you a fair bit but fwiw i really did get there on you on the last phase i was alive when i had used up my 5 posts. i had a long rant written up over those 8 hours that i couldn't post in which i was utterly convinced tutuu was the wolf for multiple reasons, one of which being that you and hally were both just so townie. i just never would have realized it was nanook lol. and during that whole phase i was assuming that tsp would let me post before night actually ended but since it wasn't even clear i was messaging him all frustrated but then he just locked the thread and posted my death and said he wouldn't have allowed me to post before phase change anyway, and then it was probably for the better that i didn't get to post all the bs i had written up after all lmao.

then i joined dvc and he posted the spoiler shortly thereafter and i felt a lot better because at that moment i realized that it was probably never going to be a town win and that it wouldn't be my fault lol. (@hally i commented that it in fact felt *extremely* similar to when i entered dvc for haunted by slep and was just like "....oh." in the sense that it was the one world nobody was considering and so i wouldnt even have to feel bad that it was going to be a town loss)

in retrospect it's funny bc i was scumreading nanook a bit on d1 but not really enough to go anywhere with it and then i just cleared him from the vig with everyone else.

anyway. i feel bad for the iaafr modkill and how i had been interacting with him before it. i feel bad for misreading him and amy and hally and tutuu all at various points. a lot of things went wrong this game, and it wasn't just the fault of the host or the setup or the mechs and it also wasn't just the fault of the town. there were multiple bizarre factors that combined to make this an overall extremely weird experience and, well, it's over now and we can breathe and laugh about it. and hey, at least i personally murdered a wolf.

i’m happy this at least went better for me then anni end game

i definitely learned my lesson from that game as far as questioning mechs and stuff late in games and relying more on reads instead

i probably would not have even considered nanook could be wolfing at the end had i not just had that awful experience

so like, me making a fool of myself in anni has a silver lining at least XD

either i no longer know how to project town or you people have very high opinions of my wolfgame
i know i went back and forth on you a fair bit but fwiw i really did get there on you on the last phase i was alive when i had used up my 5 posts. i had a long rant written up over those 8 hours that i couldn't post in which i was utterly convinced tutuu was the wolf for multiple reasons, one of which being that you and hally were both just so townie. i just never would have realized it was nanook lol. and during that whole phase i was assuming that tsp would let me post before night actually ended but since it wasn't even clear i was messaging him all frustrated but then he just locked the thread and posted my death and said he wouldn't have allowed me to post before phase change anyway, and then it was probably for the better that i didn't get to post all the bs i had written up after all lmao.

then i joined dvc and he posted the spoiler shortly thereafter and i felt a lot better because at that moment i realized that it was probably never going to be a town win and that it wouldn't be my fault lol. seconding

not that i wasn't salty initially [and not that i'm not still a LITTLE salty...]

but i think it's been agreed that the play was suboptimal and thus i don't want you to beat yourself up over it. 's just a game, at the end of the day

also the PPG meme was both excellent and hilariously accurate on all fronts
More than seconding. A few mistakes don't offset having played overall a great game. You were far and away the towniest town town of us all, and mechanics aside that is what really counts from a town player.

I'd ask that y'all please spare Tony some of your frustrations pertaining to the "light" nature of the game. This "racket" game type is brand new to The Syndicate; indeed, this is only the third game we've run in it and the fourth or fifth with any kind of post limitation instituted. Blame me for just saying the game type is "literally anything you want, just include a post cap".

I really enjoyed this game and appreciated.

I find it funny how they thought I could have been a godfather.

Also sorry for misreading or misinterpreting my role twice
