Also why didn't you claim blocked immediately at SOD? Also redirect would not block you, it would make you watch someone different.

well idk if it was blocked, my theory is someone tried to block someone else and the block it was redirected to us, or all actions on you got redirected to us including us trying to watch you so the action failed bc we would have been watching ourselvesAkemi Hazelnut wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 2:58 am Also why didn't you claim blocked immediately at SOD? Why would your first conclusion be that a block on someone else was redirected to you rather than someone blocked you directly, given that you were heavily suspected yesterday and a prime target for any town roleblocker (especially since the other top suspect, BT, claimed to have a self resolving role)?

because the first other information we got was that BT redirected the actions from someone to us so I assumed that played a role. I guess its also possible we were just blocked directly too. im not sure what a self-resolving role isAkemi Hazelnut wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 3:04 am Why would your first conclusion be that a block on someone else was redirected to you rather than someone blocked you directly, given that you were heavily suspected yesterday and a prime target for any town roleblocker (especially since the other top suspect, BT, claimed to have a self resolving role)?

TSPIC voter - The Walrus
No voters - Falcon
Hmmm. The Walrus then dies? Only voter on the TSPIC wagon. Probably never a wolf kill they would make it's too obvious.
Mana wagon is very pure.
But Mana is voting for BT in a tie. If Mana wagon is pure >rand wolf and that means their vote is >rand on a town.
So if Mana is a wolf, and TAT WAS a wolf, then the other teammate is probably either trans rights or Akemi Hazelnut, or an absent FalconKnows I guess?
But Akemi Hazelnut is currently operating inside that very POE so it's almost certainly not them. Trans Rights also playing the POE game in a tight window.
Makes me think TAT is always a wolf. Which strongly clears all the TAT voters. But then why did none of them die? Why kill The Walrus? Perhaps @Bottom Text did you actually get an action in?
Doesn't QUITE stack up. So what if TAT AND BT are both town. The janitoring might be a passive (no flips til you die) wolf role maybe.
Mana wolf equity is through the roof no matter what. I take TSPIC and Julinook as town for it. I take the kill as pure wifom. I take the mafia teammates of mana to be probably Falcon and ONE active wolf in this case.
I think this makes the most sense. Falcon + someone getting more townreads, that isn't on the Mana wagon. I feel like ... Timsup2gettingserious profiles.

Re: Modern Family Hydra Mafia [Day 2]
The fact that:
A) Tim/hk was janitored
B) and wasn't particularly forthcoming in chat with Toopy or whatever they're called
leads me to the conclusion that Tim was a wolf, and wolves wanted to limit information and spew as much as possible. If Tim/hk was town that was their opportunity to clear the air so to speak, and they didn't use that chance. I still think if Tim/hk suspected toopy and was town they would still use that opportunity to clear the air. For example, what are the wolves going to do with that information anyway if they were a dead villager.

Urist (I think) evidently was able to guess our identity on the basis that Urist:
a) Believes that he correctly identified that the Phil Dunphy character is the most likely janitor because he's a magician? And apparently in flavour a magician would "make a flip disappear"?
b) Is so thoroughly convinced we are mafia that he took his epiphany that the janitor was Phil, to the extreme of applying it to his top scum read.
The logical hoops I have to jump through to be okay with this are TOO DAMN HIGH.

Surely the correct play is to loverize someone in the POE so you get a free red flip if you ever die?
Second-best is to use it on someone you think won't die for any reason regardless of their alignment.

It can't be used as a vigilante shot because the target, if they're a wolf, knows that you loverized them and obviously won't shoot you.Akemi Hazelnut wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 11:00 pmI don't think you were a super likely NK last night with an outed vig on the table regardless, and I agree that my slot and trans rights both have higher NK equity than yours. The point is not "you are going to die N1". The question is whether you're going to die at all. If you're using it as a neighborizer, you'd want to use it on someone who's both town and likely to survive to the end of the game, so you avoid giving mafia a free KP. This is awkward since you never know when the townie you put your ability on claims super cop or something, which is why I prefer to use this kind of role as a vigilante shot. But regardless if you were trying to find a townie that has low NK equity you'd probably look at people like julinooks or FalconKnows, not your slot.Timsup2gettinserious wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 10:56 pm Also, what would your reasons for us being one of the more likely people getting NKed last night? Weren't you one of the people D1 saying that YOUR HYDRA was probably one of the more likely to die N1 just for the potential of becoming obvtown later in the game?
At that point if your target is mafia then the only way your role is beneficial is if you get yourself misbanished. Which is not ideal already.
There's another use which is to claim actions on behalf of your partner, so that your partner can't be rb'd. That's an edgecase situation tho.

Can you clear up for me why you think Phil is the janitor? In the OP dunya states:
Character claiming is also legal as all characters were randomized separately from roles!
To me this means there is no link between the character and the role, so Phil being a magician has no bearing on what role they are. Given this, what makes you link them together? Maybe I'm just missing something.

Why did you use it then?Honey & Vinegar wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 7:56 amThe correct play is actually to not use the role.Akemi Hazelnut wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 10:38 pm Why would you ever lover a townread and not a scumread?
Surely the correct play is to loverize someone in the POE so you get a free red flip if you ever die?
Second-best is to use it on someone you think won't die for any reason regardless of their alignment.

Re: Modern Family Hydra Mafia [Day 2]
I think I finally understand what Toopy is saying about their power. I was totally confused last night when I read it. I do agree with others though that T&T's response is more likely wolf because if town, why not tell them their role? It makes no sense to me why they wouldn't.
Also, I believe that Toopy is telling the truth about their role and that makes them town in my eyes.
Also, H&V's point above regarding how loverizing a wolf wouldn't work from the standpoint of getting them killed makes sense to me. I'm not the best at mechanics though so I'll be interested to see what others think about this point.
Regarding my schedule today, I'm off to work in just a few minutes and will be back sometime between 2 and 3. I will also be free most of the day tomorrow though.

Re: Modern Family Hydra Mafia [Day 2]
Also, I have been in a game where town loverized mafia. I was in that mafia team but we never shot the town because we didn't want to lose a member. Eventually, it ended with one of the two of them getting yeeted and killing both. It's possible that loverizer the comes from town but I don't get the choice unless you scumread them.
I think if I was a loverizer mafia role I would target the strongest person in the game, I think that's probably the most effective way of using the ability. I think if it was a mafia role, the person being loverized probably wouldn't know they were lovered up.

I have no reason to scumread them but I wouldn't call it a lock.

You know flavor isn't related to roles yeahHoney & Vinegar wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 8:02 amI'm not a rolecop, it's just equally obvious that phil is the janitor and that you're mafia.Poop Explosions wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 10:41 pm I doubt H&V's a rolecop with that loverizing
I doubt H&V guessed our flavor out of thin air
Someone else rolecopped us and H&V saw the result despite not being a rolecop
H&V pushed us despite having a greencheck on us
Lmao
Why tf would I, as mafia, claim a rolecop result inthread as mafia after loverizing town.
You're being disingenuous.
