Lol I’ve never slanked even a quarter of what I did here. I was telling the truth in my opening post that I wanted to experiment. Though it’s likely that as town I’d have ended up somewhat more engaged. Because you guys were pretty engaging. But I wanted to try something different.

So many of you played so well. Haven’t played any of these syndicate or Star people except carotenoid and Nutella. Was a cool dynamic where there were basically the star people and syndicate people all trying to figure each other out, while the scum team was all non syndicate people and a star person.

I’ll be honest in that I was starting to get worried two or three days ago that you were sounding more and more towny. I thought your tone got way better.

That was probably pretty frustrating being wrongly suspected basically the whole game and then being the final kill. I know that pain lol. Happens sometimes, even when you’re not new.

I hope you at least found this interesting and that maybe you’re intrigued enough to try again sometime.

I think the following is the only game I've played as scum for like a year. Even though I mentioned I was busy or whatever a bit on D1 there like I have here, I was still much more active there than I've been here. Trying to manipulate things and whatnot.

I claimed when I did because I wanted to help the more active players solve the game with whatever info could be gained from my tracks and claim. And so if I actually caught a scum it wouldn't be a complete blindside with no reason to believe me. I thought about not claiming and continuing to just try to track people, but figured I'd go along with the massclaim to contribute my piece to the puzzle, since I at least had the clears I already had and the fact that Cass was likely Water Tribe.

I tracked Cay and they went nowhere.

Bleh, I never get to catch anyone.

I'm leaning towards voting Dov. I'll try to look a bit more into them later tonight or sometime before the deadline if I can. It's F5 so I should at least try to do that, and there's time. Not voting yet because hammer. But that's where I'm thinking.

I've been townreading Cayvie a lot. So that's how I'll have to decide on my vote this time.

I'm June from the Fire Nation. I'm a tracker.

I tracked Long Con N1. He didn't go anywhere.

Tracked Wiggly N2. He didn't go anywhere.

I tracked Cass N3, and I got no result. I'm pretty sure this means they are Water Nation so my track doesn't work there because I'm fire.

First two nights I was going for two people me and the thread in general didn't seem to know what to make of. Cass was because a lot of people had suspected them earlier but that seemed to be kind of dying down from what I gathered. And maybe scum would have sent him to kill if they thought he was starting to be more village read.

So we know Long Con didn't do the kill N1, Wiggly didn't do it N2 (unless I was roleblocked those nights), and that Cass is likely Water Nation.

The main one was that big post where he was talking about how the Nutella kill cleared him based on some past game.

There was someone who reacted soon after that about how that was like the pinnacle of WIFOM, and I found myself nodding and already kind of thinking that.

I'm likely staying on Marcher if he's still a wagon tomorrow btw. I saw most of the towniest people just kind of start realizing he might be scummy simultaneously in what felt like a holistic and organic way, and his reactions seemed more likely to come from scum.

Been working on a contract thing for someone, and it's been much more work and gone a bit longer than I thought it would. I hope to be able to be around more for D3 provided I make it there.

Looks like my gut TRs are all on MJ and still doing a bunch of townie looking work when I flip through things. I still like the tone from that crew. And Nutella was there too. For now I'm inclined to go with them again today and go for MJ.

How do I vote here? Is there a button that makes that vote tag? I know you have to vote in the poll too.

I’m going to vote JIWON because they really just don’t seem interested/invested in the game, and have given no indication that they are interested in being interested. Could be that they don’t play often and aren’t in a playing rhythm, and doubly so because they drew mafia so can’t even muster the energy to try to pretend to solve.

Also, 75% of that wagon is made up of my early gut townleans. I guess I’m kind of sheeping there too, but I do feel there’s enough logic to this vote. D1 is always so hard, with no info from past flips or anything like that to look into. So I’ll feel decent going with this group.

I do have to run again, but will be back to vote once I figure out how to do it.

Hey guys! My first game here, and first time seeing most of you.

Like I said in the signups thread, I was never going to be able to be too active this game, especially early on. I'll try to be around a bit more later. I've read some random parts of this game (mostly from the first page) but not the whole thing. When I'm able to be around, I'm thinking it might be better for me to just talk with whoever is around rather than going back and doing a bunch of ISO type stuff. Especially early.

I'm still trying to change my playing style to something where I don't feel as compelled to spend as much time or drive myself cray-cray over these games. Lol it's hard sometimes and I'll feel guilty about not being around as much to post, so then I end up going too far the other way and just not doing much at all. This is my first forum game in about two months or so.

Early impressions basically from the first page are that Alison, Cayvie, and Carotenoid are first gut townleans. Maybe Nutella too.

Alison for her opening and just the townie energy that seems to be coming out of her.

Cayvie for the way she brought up mechanics early, but more for the reaction she had when Alison and maybe some others jumped on her for it. It reminds me a lot of how I open games sometimes. I consider myself a very weak mechanical player, and will often bring up mechanics questions to start the game just to see what people have to say about it. Sometimes you get some really readable moments when people inevitably start discussing/arguing about if even bringing up mechanics talk is good or not. The way Cayvie defended herself and kind of dug in about it being a good idea to speculate about mechanics strikes me as a townie reaction (It's how I've reacted in the past as town, which gets me into trouble more often than not, when it would have probably been easier to just back off from the pressure), as does Alison's initial jumping on it, and then coming to the conclusion that Cayvie is more likely town for her reaction to it. That just seemed to be a very genuine exchange from both ends.

And I've actually played a good game with Carotenoid, and observed another. She just seems to have a very similar tone. The way she pressures people and the kind of phrasing she uses. I feel like she has a distinctive way of pressuring people, and I'm not sure how easy she could replicate that as scum. My thinking is that it would be hard. I'm also putting stock into how strongly Alison is townreading her.

However, apparently she was scum in some recent game here and fooled a bunch of people. I think it was Nutella who was expressing some paranoia there.

Who else here was in that game with Carotenoid who has played with or observed her in other games? Or I guess who has seen her as both town and scum? I've only seen town. But again, this looks like what I've seen.

In general, I'm a bit slower to come to stronger reads than most people seem to be, especially scumreads, which will get me scumread sometimes. As town, I'll often be scumread for seeming "wishy-washy" or equivocating, especially early. I'm basically used to never being in the widely accepted towncore until maybe D3 or 4 lol.

So usually, my early days voting tends to be more of a thing where I'm voting someone I see the fewest reasons to townread rather than hard scumreading or anything like that. Or to save someone I feel is a decent townread. If I have a decent scumread on someone who's a wagon early, I consider that a pleasant bonus. But I do decently well coming to opinions more slowly, whereas I really hate the way I play when I start tunneling or going too crazy over the game.

So, especially the four people I've mentioned as townreads, who should I be voting for and why? I'm not necessarily going to sheep you, but I'll certainly take your opinions into account, because you all have obviously been more active and have had more time to think about stuff.

I'll try to be around a bit more later tonight. If not, I will do what I can to try to be around for EOD at least. This is my first game here, but I assume we can expect some kind of EOD insanity? Is that usually a thing here? Where I'm from, EOD is almost always just crazy, especially in early days, and it's something you want to be around for if you can.

I gotta go back to RL for a bit now, but already feel better now that I've at least gotten something into the thread lol. See you all later.
