Re: Philosophers' Mafia [ENDGAME]

Lmaoooooo I forgot that! Yeah we thought that killing Amy was a relatively low info kill on someone we weren’t likely to be able to get miskilled.

We were extremely prescient this game.

I don’t think it’s particularly fair to say I had it easy or that I coasted or whatever, FMPOV this was a fairly hard game that I was very close to losing at a bunch of points 🤷‍♀️
Whoa whoa whoa, flag on the play! You don't get to complain that your teammates died when you killed two of them. Also, you didn't have a good role, you had three and a half good roles.

That said, you played amazingly as always, I don't think you are ever easy to pick out as scum.

By the way, what roles did all those dead guys have? Also who was radishes trying to kill on night one?
The plan was for two of those teammates to die, not all three!

Radishes carried the kill to...I actually don’t remember and can’t find the chat (TonyStarkPrime ?), I want to say it was to benson maybe but idk for sure. It would be hilarious if it was meant for tutu.

Radishes carried the kill cause my role was a roleblocker with N0 decisions to make it a full jailkeeper, so I figured there probably wasn’t another active blocking thing in the game, making radishes the natural choice imo in case of watchers/trackers/PGO.

IIRC KZA had a thing that let him post as much as he wanted (or maybe it was double, I don’t remember)....radishes could make a neighborhood with someone each day...and colonialbob could check a players school of philosophy each night, and once per game could choose to make an effect happen to a school of his choice. The effect he chose was to steal their votes.

So our initial plan after KZA went MIA was for me to bus KZA, radishes to have a terrible reaction (the first two parts weren’t actually explicitly planned, just myself and radishes playing off each other), then bob would shoot radishes the next day to exit the POE. Overnight bob said he’d have to replace out, so the plan changed to radishes shooting bob to exit the POE (this was our first mistake btw, I should’ve guessed there would be town KP based on the day vig ability and having a block/JK). Then radishes got vigged and bob got red checked, so that left me to shoot bob and try to carry from there.

Mafia win condition was to reach parity with the town—meaning you didn’t count for parity purposes, so the game was over when f3 was reached with you alive.

the two sides of the same coin lol

I liked the experiment, I think I liked how it played out, I think it was a good learning moment. I agree with this general sentiment per denser games with post caps

Though Nanook recently hosted a more dense mechanical setup with a lower post cap and actually it also went very confusingly for town now that I think about it

i think thats unfair to the town players who didnt participate or condone the majs though

especially the ones who literally werent there to even be able to voice disagreement (amy mainly)
Eh, I mean...if you know maj is a thing, you've gotta play around it or accept the consequences imo. We've played light games with hammer in the past and town's used it fine

but like, why did that role have to exist and why did i have to endgame with a role like this again. was anni not torture enough

like i just think bussing roles are unfun and borderline broken and there is no reason why we should be asked to expect that in a game explicitly advertised as “light role madness”

i mean. this wasn’t the reason we lost. we lost because of the two modkills and tutuu fpsing really

but still, that is not a fun role or one that i think should have existed in this setup

if you’re going to put stuff like that in a game, advertise the game as such
I've been convinced that my definition of light role madness has definitely exceeded the standard bounds, but I stand by the dayvig. The town team is not expected to solve for the fact that the ability must be used purely as a bus, but they are, in my opinion, expected to take into account the fact that the fact that a wolf was shot does not mean that the shooter is guaranteed to be town.
well i did do that in the end at least :p but i mean, if the day vig wasn’t mandated to be used on a wolf nanook wouldn’t have shot bob in the first place. he’d have killed tutuu. so like... it being mandatory bussing did factor into what occurred. if it wasn’t mandated abd nanook has just shot bob when he didn’t have to i’d be more inclined to agree with you

NANOOK - N/A
tutuu - peek Hally - fails | loses posts from Amy
Hally - redirect Amy to Long Con [fails via tutuu losing posts from Amy]
Long Con - N/A

This is N4. If Tutu is a JK that targeted Hally, it explains why Amy still targeted tutu instead of being redirected, and sets up tutu’s “Hally must be ascetic” thing later (note that tutu can’t really afford to have a check on Hally here if she’s mafia).

N5 is:

NIGHT 5:
Amy - add posts to Hally - fails
NANOOK - N/A
tutuu - peek Amy - peeks Greek
Hally - redirect tutuu to Amy (who she was already targeting)

If tutu JKs Hally, it explains why amy was unable to get a result from Hally. Which furthers the “Hally is ascetic and lying” narrative. It also stops Hally from redirecting Amy.

So yeh I think it’s probably just tutu as mafia with a JK? She red checks yesterday then walks it back now cause she knows she’s falsely cleared from being a lone scum. She also doesn’t have to worry about redirect tonight presumably and can manipulate night results to “clear” herself. It’s a good play tbh, I’m kind of impressed.

I’m like 80-85% sure this is the solve, idc if I die tonight just follow this 🤷‍♀️
