Exposed Mafia

I'm curious if anyone has ever seen anything like this:

At the beginning of the game, the players all find out who each other are and what power(s) each other has. The point is for the civvies to try to work together to eliminate the baddies and for the baddies to figure out a way to thwart the plans of the civvies and eke out a win.

There would need to be two or three baddie teams and maybe a serial killer or two to even the odds.

Anyone seen anything like that? Think it's workable? One of these days I swear I'll come up with a normal game idea.

This sounds utterly impossible. I hope you figure out a way to make it possible!

I think the baddies would have to be incredibly over-powered for a traditional game in order to stand a chance. This setup would eschew all investigative roles, which appeals to me for some strange reason.

Lol, a cop power in a game where all affiliations were already known...

I wonder if it should include an indy who can swap the affiliation of two people each night. That could create an interesting dimension.

RYM had a game somewhat like this a couple years ago based on a Game of Thrones theme. It wasn't an open setup, so when things started it wasn't clear how it was put together -- but everyone knew by Day 2. There were no townies, everyone was on a mafia team (I think there were five of them). There were two rogues based on the Baelish and Varys characters who manipulated things with PM/BTSC dealings, and each team had statistical ratings in various categories that somehow played into who died each night when all of them sent kills. It was weird, not really "Mafia", but still something interesting.

So, like any other Syndicate game then?

More like the RYM game that has sign-ups right now. :D

(apologies for the shameless self-promotion)
