Note from the Host:

This will be no ordinary mafia game. Prepare for a unique rendition of Fight Club coupled with a twist on mafia structure that is intriguing, uncomplicated, and unique!

This will not start until at least The Hobbit mafia is complete. There is no limit on the number of players, so the more that we receive within the time frame, the merrier!

And don't forget to recruit away for a possible edge over your fellow cast members, in traditional mafia spirit! :feb:

Fantastic, great to have those who have signed up thus far!!!

I made very slight additions to a couple of the roles just to elaborate on role win conditions, FYI. And the number of Policemen is TBD based on the number of members who end up playing.

Looking at the mechanics, this looks pretty sweet.

Quick question, MP. It says "all unrecruited policemen"

Policemen can be recruited to Project Mayhem, I presume?

That is correct. :feb:

When designing the game, I originally thought I would keep that a complete secret, but then decided allowing that to be known as a possibility was better (and it follows the story quite nicely).

Cool, glad to have you after all, FZ.!

The game won't start until at least a week after The Hobbit is over, and I'm currently thinking it'll start July 14th. Just to give everyone enough time (since The Hobbit game is still going on, and I also would like more players, and I think some players will still want to play who haven't signed up yet), and also because I will be gone from the evening of July 10th through the 13th.

But we'll see how it goes.

Alright! That puts us at 22. Awesome! Thanks to everyone who has signed up already!

The Hobbit is now over, so here's the deal: Recruit. Recruit away. If you want a reward, that is. :feb:

Like I said in the PM, just to be clear since I've had some questions on it: for someone to be eligible to be rewarded for recruiting, I have to be PMed by the recruitee. Obviously, the recruitee does not have to PM me that someone recruited them, even if someone or many people talk to them and try to convince them to play. And I don't want you guys pestering the hell out of people, BUT I do want to put on one hell of an awesome game here, and I can only best accomplish that if we get more players. The more players, the better experience all of you folks will have.

I incredibly look forward to hosting this unique game, and I think it will be a refreshing departure from more conventional games. But don't let that scare you off if you haven't committed yet! ;) It will not be a chore to play; it will be fun and intuitive. At least I intend on making it so!

Now go break the first two rules of Fight Club already. :p

So since I'm going to be out of town for a few days starting tomorrow, if this game could not fill up until Tuesday or Wednesday, that would be awesome. :D

Unlike other games, in this one there is no "filling up"; I will only start the game when I believe we have hit a large enough number for the game to start.

Also, as stated previously, I don't have any intentions of starting until at least July 14th, since we definitely need more players, and I will be gone from the 10th through the 13th.

So you're good, no worries.

What the hell is this blasphemy?!

More than 10 days? The biggest game I ever played had 50 people, LOST:Revolution at RM. I don't know if we can get that far, but I bet we can get to 35 if we try :)

True Story:

When I was a senior in high school, Fight Club came out. I was drug with a female friend by our two wayward boyfriends to this film. They both hated it and we loved it. They were losers, anyway.

"I don't get it! Why wouldn't you want to talk about a fight club? It's not like it's the mafia."

"This film would have been better with less dialogue."

Etc.

That came out the same year and we also saw it in the cinema with the same dudes. Sigh.

That's insane, Mongoose. I just can't fathom that at all, really. Fight Club is definitely in my top three movies of all time.
