MacGyver~ Cannot be lynched while Penny & Swiss Army Knife are alive *secret*

Swiss Army Knife~ Macs BFF~ sends messages to MacGyver periodically and goes into crisis mode should Penny find the bomb before she finds MacGyver *secret*

Duct Tape~ Does whatever Swiss Army knife cannot. Each day Swiss chooses the power Duct wields the next night~ if Swiss dies, the last power Duct has is permanent.

Ball of Twine ~ Holds things together when they are falling apart. Stops or switches a lynch once in the game

Chewing Gum~ stops air (and other gasses) from escaping when applied; so stops the nearly dead from being really dead, and rezzes one NKed player once in the game.

The Mullet~ MacGyvers tousled, highlighted Mullet looks perfect at all times. Attackers are blinded by its perfection~ Mullet lives through the first NK or Lynch, and can protect another player with its glory nightly

Paper Clip~ paper clips can be made into endless tools to stop whatever nefarious plot the baddies have in mind; blocks nightly

Magnifying Glass~ can see things others miss; can see who targeted a specific player that night

Chemistry Book~ Many things can be learned with SCIENCE The chemistry book gives a lecture in the thread each day. Do the facts come from the host, or the books author? No one knows~

Assorted Chemicals~ have assorted effects, unknown to the player. May stop night once in the game; however, there is a 25% chance the chemicals may have the opposite effect, multiplying night powers by two (all people who have night targets will have 2 the next night), or may stop the day once (with a 25% chance the votes will be turned on the people who cast them), OR may just PM "random" to the host one time in the game, and a random target will be hit with a random power (but there is a 75% chance the random target will not be a civvie) in addition to that nights regularly scheduled targeting.

I would love to play, as I was a fan of the show in my younger days. Unfortunately, I am leaving tomorrow morning adn I won't be back for around 10 days.

So, in mafia terms, 10 real days would equal out to about 3 mafia days. But then there is time taken to fill the game up. I will be keeping up with the other game while I am on my trip, and I cant make it two. SO...I think I will mark myself down as a replacement for the time being.

If this starts soon, just letting you know that from the 13th until the 17th I will be out of town then. My gf has an uncle who is retiring after 30 years in the Navy and we are going to Norfolk for the ceremony and some sightseeing (as well as a much needed vacation for both of us). So if the game starts or is going on then my participation will be very limited since I'll mostly only have access via cell phone.

I found this looking for videos (there is an amazing parody battle ring simulation between Chuck Norris, MacGyver & Bruce Lee, but it's pretty long). I also found some Stargate bloopers where they make fun of Richard Dean Anderson about MacGyver.

Well when Minecraft runs depends on when the next full game runs, we start signups for speed games 2 weeks after the game starts. I am still 5 people short, but with 25 hour days, even then it should be over pretty fast if i have to wait another week to start.

Actually, make that 3 short, i just recounted. I have 13 players, 16 roles, not 17. So I just need three, recruitathon to commence

I don't know much about MacGyver, but I love the eighties and silly fun, so I will play.

Yeah, its kind of a weird theme, one night my family was sitting around watching TV talking about game theory (my brother is a big board game guy as well as a long time D & D player) and we just started throwing the idea for this game around, and all the dopey things I could do with a main role that can defuse nuclear weapons with a coaster, a paper clip and a cardboard toilet paper tube.

there may have been weed or vodka involved as well, lol.

Crap, I'm not sure how online I'll be able to be this weekend, as I'll be on vacation. I'll try to check in from my hotel though.

Now I realize this is a speed game because it has less than 20 players, but is it also speed in that Days are 24 hours instead of 48, or do we have typical 48 hour Day periods?

24/24 days & nights. The first Day will last about a day and a half in order to let everyone check in and to get on the schedule I want. Then it is 24 hours after that.

I am not a great liar, so when I play games like this in real life my strategy is to ALWAYS seem to be lying whether I am or not. This only starts to work after people realize I'm doing it though.

I am an absolutely terrible liar IRL. Honestly, when I play these games as a baddie and I am telling some serious lies, it makes me really nervous, lol. The key is that no one can see my leg shaking when I'm behind a computer desk.

That is probably a good strategy, but you're right, you couldn't use that same strategy with the same group over and over, haha.
