Considering how some of my films are being reviewed in TIFF, I think DH may have the lineup to beat, at the moment

I've got the spreadsheet updated up to It 2 opening, which has given us a new player in the bottom hot seat...

I feel alright about that positioning. Middle-of-the-pack in box office entirely via a small handful of act[ors]/[resses]. I was hoping my films would carry the awards load.

But who knows, still largely a crapshoot.

Wild guess here but I think after this weekend I'll be out of that hot seat :D

I've gotten caught up on the spreadsheet, DH is still in the hot seat but it likely won't last long, Jack is in trouble...

So... some updates for players to consider, since there is very little time left to make changes to your roster...

Mongoose, you have 4 vacant actor spots, still.

novaselineever, The Laundromat went to Netflix and never played in theatres. The Last Thing He Wanted moved to 2020. Amy Adams has no film in 2019. They can all be replaced.

Sabie12, Artemis Fowl moved to 2020. It should be replaced. Also, you have 5 empty actor spots.

JaggedJimmyJay, The Report was released to Amazon Prime in the USA so it will earn no box office. You can hold it for awards purposes, of course, but I thought I would make sure you knew.

Speedchuck I'm not sure what The Crow is, tbh, but i don't think it is a 2019 film. Robert Downey Jr. has no 2019 film that counts. Same with Josh Brolin. You also have 4 vacant actor spots.

Jackofhearts2005, neither Woman i nthe Window or Professor and the Madman are opening in the USA in 2019. Neither Gary Oldman or Michael Caine have movies coming out. And you have 6 vacant actor spots.

Dunya, I'm not sure Ema has a 2019 release date in the US.

raz_zaa, you have 5 vacant actor spots. And just in terms of stretegy, you cannot lose the first round, so you COULD conceivably drop Jumanji 3 in favour of a smaller, Oscar-y film if you wanted at this point.

Yup... the only thing Jack has left is Meryl in Cats, but you have Saoirse in the same position, so you just need Cats to make like 5 million and you are in... so, since that is going to happen, I'm going to start prepping round 2!

LOL, it's definitely close, I think I'm fine with the Globes, but honestly depending on the wins drop with Critics Choice, it could get interesting! One thing is for sure, we will end up with a competitive final this year no matter what.

"- Nomination: 1 point each (films earn 1 point for every nomination in any category, actors earn 1 point for every nomination they specifically earn, but not for ones their film earns)
- Best Film win: 10 points (film selections only; for the Golden Globes, 10 points will be given to the two films that win Drama and Comedy/Musical); if a studio owns a doc, foreign or animated film they only earn 10 points for BP-equivalent wins, not their genre-specific categories (that counts as "All other categories" below)
- Actor win: 5 points to actor selections, 2 points to film selections (lead and supporting, and only 2 points to an actor and film when part of the SAG ensemble win)
- Director win: 5 points (film selections only)
- Screenplay win: 5 points (film selections only)
- All other categories: 2 points (film selections only)"

Just going off last year I don't think Mongoose has this thing in the bag just yet. Globes performance for me last year was decent, and I got burned in the later rounds.

Quite a few have announced already, let's see, there are... producers guild (pga), directors (dga), writers (wga), actors (sag), cinematographers (asc), editors (ace), costumes (cdg), effects (ves), makeup/hairstyling, sound mixers (cas), sound editing (mpse), aer directors (adg)...

I'll get to compiling when I have the chance!

Not to be that guy but I think the scoring would be more competitive if the best picture rules encapsulated Best "X" Film categories as well. As is, its a 10 to 1 difference that makes it hard to compete.

Yeah pretty much. Though last year MP had "Best Animated Feature" and he got 1 point for it as opposed to the 10 points Green Book got. Just seems like if the category is "Best X" it should be worth more points.
