Long Con Why did you use your power on me day 3?

cause seems to me that if you're town and have the opportunity to choose between a kill power that can only target you and a claimed tracker or a claimed role blocker at a LYLO situation, you wouldn't be trying to use your power just as an inefficient role cop.

I’ve never really been able to get into Veep but “how is the court defining ‘deadline’ ... and ‘passed’?” made me giggle uncontrollably.

I’m getting to work. See y’all for the afterparty, and if this is still going at 6 I’ll be around.
LC’s played a great game. If he wins, he deserves it.
I hope he doesn’t but whatever

Not much. I don't get why he says that those quotes at the end are responses to speedchuck, because I'm clearly responding to TSP and ts account. The rest is underwhelming and I can respond specifically to anything you wish.

[VOTE: TonyStarkPrime] aubergine

Several things prevent me from going with Long Con here:
-The self-vote and Turnip Head's reaction to it.
-Epi's actual aggression toward LC.
-Long Con's effort early on, particularly toward TH.
-Long Con's frustration leading up to the self-vote is evident in a number of places on review.
-None of the mafia members actually made meaningful pushes against Tony. They all mentioned him, but those mentions were flat. They resonated exactly the same as TH/Epi interactions.
-Long Con voted for Radishes Day 2 along with Epi and TH while speedchuck was on TH. I don't see a mafia team strategizing to load up three votes on one player, while the fourth member is bussing a teammate.
-Long Con's role claim is more believable than Tony's.

Good game all, sorry if I'm wrong. You've both played extremely well and this has not been an easy decision. If I am right then it's clear my purpose in life is to stop tony from winning mafia games. If I am wrong then Epi continues to bat 1.000 and we all have to put up with that for a little while longer.

Tony has been shot with a crossbow! Unfortunately, as Sloonei bends down to retrieve his bolt, Long Con stealths up behind him and stabs him right in the kidney. Tony was town, and the mafia team of LC, Epi, Chuck, and TH has won!

Double Double Double Agent: Both sides are so confused which side you’re on, that nobody dares to target you with any abilities (normally this is referred to as ascetic, I believe). This includes any non-factional lethal abilities. In addition, you can choose to kill Desmond on any odd numbered nights.

Climb a Tree: You can climb a tree! That’s awesome! While you’re up in that tree, only other players able to climb trees can target you. Climbing trees is pretty tiring though, so you can only do it every other night.

If anyone has questions about the setup, feel free to ask them!

One note: scum had the ability to decide ties. This was supposed to be in the OP, but I realized after D1 that I had overlooked putting it in there, so to best maintain the balance of the game it became a factional ability instead.

They had no inherent abilities, they got a chat removed from the thread and had one Meddle action each, as well as a joint Interfere action. There was a trigger at MYLO/LYLO with enough scum alive to give them the option to enter the game for a day.

The only thing they used was the Interfer, which took the form of the Apple that got sent to Sloonei initially. And they obviously accepted the option to enter the game when it was triggered.

I really liked the game. It brought back some of the mystery of old mafia setups I used to play.

Plus, claiming was allowed, and that was a breath of fresh air (even if I didn't claim myself)

Yeah I’m pretty pro claiming. Imo a no claim game has to be pretty strict about softing or breadcrumbing to be fair, and that results in a lot of modkills that aren’t very fun.

At this point I'm not pro- or anti- either option. They are both appealing. I'm pro-variety, I guess.

Another thing that went into my decision today was the history between LC and Epi. The newer folks won't be aware of this, but there was once a time in Syndicate history where those two would always seem to have some significant back-and-forth every game no matter what their alignments. I was convinced that if they had been partners in this game, they would have been tempted to make some big bold play in the thread. Instead they were mostly subdued around each other. They threw me a change up.

Idk, I think that “no claims but really it’s only no explicit claims” is pretty town sided in an open or semi-open setup where roles are publicly available. But stricter “no claims whatsoever” enforcement leads to more modkills, which isn’t particularly fun for anyone tbh.

So idk, mixed feelings but I usually prefer claims.
