S~V~S, I haven't seen a Day Zero vote that meant something (unless it was to elect someone) in a while BUT this is BR and LC and they are, as I'm sure you remember, famous for their Day 0 polls meaning something. So I'm assuming there is a meaning.

My question to Jules was a two fold question. Maybe even three fold. First, it served to help me sort her out. I like to know what I think of Jules pretty fast, and I find that gauging her answer to a direct question not directly related to her helps me with that. If she is bad, I don’t think she’s on a team with any of the vanilla voters, and I am leaning civ. I might ask G-Man a direct question, too Second, it correlates to the two posts I quoted above it, from Chuck and Jack. Of the 5 vanilla voters, they put no thoughts into the thread about their votes, Chuck moreso than Jack; Chuck just dropped his vote without any reason or discussion. If Zero polls with meaning are not common anymore, then maybe their votes mean nothing in particular. If they were more common, though, I would not expect a whole team to vote for them. Same would go for the three Pistacio voters. So, third, it’s a good way to start discussion on this topic, since I seem not to be the only one whose eye was caught by the vanilla voters.

One time on my home forum I spent the entire first round just gif-posting a handful of times and not engaging in the game at all because I was busy. I got myself mislynched D1. But before I went, I made a final serious post in which I named the entire scum team.

Honestly, I was thinking the same. And the other mafia has the fucking Antimonitor in charge. The only townies that aren't strickly street level are Deedee, Agatha, the Monitor and Santa and of those, only Santa really has a chance of scratching either big bad.

Luckily, lynches override traditional weight classes.

For the record, Santa has either extreme reaction time or extreme time alteration powers that allow him to visit the houses of all good christian children in one night without ramming his sled into anything, strength and durability to go toe to toe with Lobo and to tank Apokolips's aerial batteries, immortality (possibly due to being an elf but definitely hundreds of years old), and limited omniscience letting him know the moral choices and consciousness of millions of people at any given moment. I just don't think he can take a punch from Saitama or survive the antimatter wave. Has anyone survived either of those things?

Actually, I also kind of think so, too, and in the post sig thought was fluffy, I thought Chuck, and maybe you, were the ones who stood out.

In the culture I came from (and our hosts came from, too) factions benefiting from poll options was very much a thing, and sometimes some faction members knew if they benefited from a specific option beforehand. But I know that was going out of vogue when I last played what with the influx of people from different cultures. So we'll see if there are any known results from this poll. I just bring it up as a thing to keep in mind.

I am also curious to know what others from that background think as well. But in any case, I will not be so quick to dismiss it.

I just typed up an explanation of how the poll benefits from the old days worked and then saw S~V~S had already posted an explanation. The Erlatz 11, who remembers that?

And [mention]S~V~S[/mention], I guess I think it's more likely than not there is some meaning to the poll because it was such a big part of LC and BR games. I don't know though which option means what, as was the case in the past. The way it used to work Vanilla, for example, could be the civ option that a couple of civs were told of or it could be one of the mafia's options. Or it means nothing but a high percentage of people like vanilla best (which is the case if you look at the population). So at this point I see it as just something to watch and think about as we go forward.
