The guests stood staring at one another with growing suspicion. Epignosis was the first to speak, accusing MovingPictures07 of... something. Others came to MP’s aid and just like that, factions began to form.

Snow Dog, the lone voice of reason, protested that this senseless violence was insane, but his efforts only made things worse. Birdwithteeth11, perhaps inspired by Snow Dog's pacifism walked over into a corner and faced the wall, refusing to participate.

At last, MP lunged at Epignosis. There was violent scuffle with shouts and curses flung in every direction. When the dust cleared, Epignosis was dead. MP's faction had won... for now.

After it was all over, the group began to regain their senses. The bloodlust was lifted.

“My God, what have we done?” asked S~V~S, rhetorically.

“Let’s get out of here,” said Zany Dex. But the Snow outside had already rendered the road impassable.

“Well, if we’re going to have to stay here, we should at least look around a bit,” Nevinera pragmatically suggested.

And so, with blood on their hands and guilty consciences, the guests ventured out of the lobby and into the rest of the cavernous hotel for the first time.

Epignosis has been lynched. He was Jack Torrence.

It is now Night 1. You have 24 hours to send in your PMs.

No, no sarcasm. I'm thinking he was civ but if Delbert finds him it might be another matter. Who knows in this game anyway. We do know we want Stephen King lynched though.

I wonder what advantage having Jack's notes typed up might have given us. Is this the consequence we didn't want that Epi alluded to?

We would have been able to get the thoughts of someone confirmed to be trustworthy without having to wonder about their allegiance. But as Epi is just as fallible as the rest of us as far as I can tell, it's not too drastic of a consequence. Unfortunate definitely, but I'm not going to cry too much about it.

Well, I assume he was a civ this early in the game, so RIP Epig, although I also think he was probably going to go batshit insane sooner or later and start chasing us with an axe. So not the worst possible result, I guess.

Also going with the kitchen, food, weapons, etc.

YES. Totally, Epig reminds me of Golden very much. If Golden comes off of break again, it will be interesting to see them play together.

Dammit, RIP (at least while you were going to be) Epig. I will miss playing with you this game, and of course I enjoyed our banter, even though it was deemed "tense" -- it's in nothing but good fun.

I wish I had seen this post before now:

I'll just leave this note here for the rest of the folks:

It's not a good idea to vote for me, so don't do it.
But like SVS said, I suppose it's not a total loss. It's just kind of a bummer, I think.

So which roles do we believe need to be dead for a civvie win here?

Obviously Stephen King, but other than that, I suppose it's somewhat open to analyzing.

I'm guessing the Gradys and possibly the bartender?

Anyway, I'm kind of hungry but I feel like taking a look at the game room first.

I was thinking that too. There's also the Overlook, which looks like an independent-type role. I realize the win conditions are probably more complex than "civvie, baddie", but I just want to try and wrap my head around this.

I def agree re Stephen King and the gradys. Maybe the bartender, too? He was a big part of driving Jack insane, after all.

Maybe the hotel, it could be a Last Man (or building) standing role, or it could just be a "live till the end" kinda thing.

You were right the first time. "A pair" is singular (as distinct from multiple pairs) so a pair of tight trousers IS like a cheap hotel.

Okay good, that previous post appears to be not backwards - I guess 24 hours has elapsed or some other condition has expired.

Anyway, I chose ballroom cause it's a very open environment. You can see something/someone sneaking up on you. Conversely, the kitchen has lots of nooks and crannies to hide behind and in. I thought the game room would have lots of pokey things like darts and spears and billiard balls and I would rather not have those come flying at my face.

Voted ballroom

RIP Epi! :rip: And sorry I missed the poll everyone! Yesterday, I woke up at 5:30 AM and didn't go to sleep until 2:30 AM, so I had a very busy day and little to no time for mafia. Plus I completely forgot about the lynch. I promise I will be sure to not miss any more votes. And to try and pick up on my participation.

I was leaning between MP and Epi for this lynch however. Not sure which one I would have gone with however.

I think I will go with the kitchen. I remember the kitchen being chock-full of interesting foods. And knowing me, I can't pass up on something involving food.

You'd have to be absolutely mental to do that.
