Widows's is openeing against Fantastic Beasts, so I hope you make enough box office for it to count in the Awards Rounds. Assuming it gets any. :noble:
Speaketh the one whose latest pick is the least money-grabbing pick out of four movies set to open in its respective week.

A noir-thriller with Gerard Butler, Jeff Bridges, That Girl From 50 Shades, Jon Hamm, and the director of Cabin in The Woods.

Versus "Not Spider-Man, The Other One", "Bradley Cooper's Sing Along Time" and "Remember Unbroken? Here's another one of those that people def. want to watch."

Timmer went with X-Men Dark Phoenix so he's already at least 100 million dollars in the hole once he scraps that and picks up whatever dregs are left over. I feel like I could definitely *not get last place* looking at a couple Studio's rosters. With the exception of Ant-Man and the Wasp I feel my picks have box-office punch *and* awards potential for a number of categories.

I'm not faster than the bear, but I'm fast enough not to get eaten.

I do wonder about A Star is Born... could be a major unexpected success or a complete disaster.

If you do it you better do it with a film you think is going to win awards like mad, and you better have the box office built up from your other films/actors. But other than that IDK. Worth a shot in the dark

Frankly unless I've missed something I'm not really expecting to swing box office with the last two picks. I'm gambling on Ocean's 8 not bombing.

Re: no release date... The nice thing about it is that if you get into summer and then the fall festival lineups start bring published and your film looks like it is doa, you can easily replace it. And with only 9 of us three will be films galore left over to grab.

I may be biased cuz so far I've picked films that have set dates, and I'm just slightly worried you buffs out here are going to clean up with awards.

But we'll see.

I would never kid myself with being able to predict awards, because:

a) no real fun or value in guessing what a cohort of geezers at some academy or association, most of which have been long revealed to have little idea or care what they actually select, will consider, not to mention which films would get shoved for one week in some theater in LA just to be eligible for awards

b) no real fun or value hyping award movies out of which 80% of them will surely suck

Can I just say that if we were all legitimately heads of movie studios and buying up the rights to make these films I'd see at least one from each.

Also, MP being the Disney-Franchise-Machine studio is somehow infuriating and at the same time completely logical.
