I'd like to hear more from Sprityo's own mind. I dunno if I feel as comfortable in the future voting for someone who will use the opportunity of being off the poll to shirk the responsibility of hunting themselves.

I really need you guys to sell me on some lynches here
How about you sell us on some lynches? If you're intending on using the flamethrower in a democratic way (following the lynch poll), then this game shouldn't be any different of any other game where you would be trying to get the person you believe is bad lynched.
Listen here friend, you aren’t in a position to be telling me so to things :hugs: I have the flamethrower, so we play by my rules, capiche?

I enjoy being in charge and want to use this ability to grow my metaphorical weight around. In due time I’ll be in it with the rest of you, don’t rush me.

For now, keep up the good work everyone

My ultimatum still stands, vote or die

If everyone’s voted, I’ll see if there’s any poor reasonings that I don’t like.

And if we get past both of those, I’ll go with whoever is going to be lynched as voted by you all

DDL's idea of self-voting to be spared from sprityo's smiting was cheeky enough to not raise alarm bells

But then he figured out self-voting wasn't allowed so he went with a random, which is not cheeky enough to not raise alarm bells

He's probably a Thing :keys:

Spoiler: show
These are my reads:

Colin:
Flopping like a fish. "Speed is bad, no wait speed could be good, I was just thinking of games where he acted like that and wasn't town but then he was town in this one game so nvm" "I was thinking of voting for inactives and then also I don't wanna" "DH Town, No wait DH Null"

Lotsa spaghetti but no meatballs.

DDL:

Said he'd be MIA for a bit "but I can try now", and his version of trying is an illegal self vote followed by a random.org vote for Doctor "Easiest Target in the World" Wilgy. As I start my reads between everyone I've talked about or talked to so far this strikes me as the most worthy of my vote. Something is rotten in DDLmark.

INH:
Avoiding so far any outright suspects, he's townread Speed and potentially buddy/pocketed the new fish. Eye catching but not damning.

Jack:
Some mechanics speculation/remarks and some buddying, particularly with Eloh as it relates to her remarks against Luna. Nothing quite here to wet my whistle with just yet. Gonna be more interested in Jack when he puts out some actual reads.

Luna:
Hesistant to be the Flame-Thrower this early, which in one respect I get. Voting (for now) for Mac who hasn't shown up which could be seen as a bit of a cop out. If you dunno what to do with your vote (as she says) why not put the muscle into figuring it out instead of just tacking it onto someone who hasn't even shown up. I dunno. I'm half-ish way into doing these reads and I've already got some meat on these bones. Also buddying the new fish, and the INH remark strikes me as noteworthy 'Heres a thing that INH did when he was a civ, but he may not be a civ this time." Wishy-washy hedgey stuff like that never really jives with me fam. Medium rare on this juicy steakum.

Nova:
Aggroed onto Eloh after Eloh voted Luna. Assertively pushing Sprit to get off the bench and contribute more than a pulled trigger. Voting Eloh presumably on the basis of the latter having been "overdefensive" of Mac in a game where so far it would be impossible for Eloh to be consciously defending a teammate. Nova is trying very hard here. Positive sign, IMO.

poutanko:

Doesn't want the Thrower. Correctly pegs me as King Shit (props). Inquisitive and active. No reason to call foul.

Quin:
Aggressively wants the flamethrower, No real contribution or reads here besides "Eh fuck it I'll vote Chuck" which is super cool and good I guess. Feels like Quin is trying my Big-Dick-Swingin' strategy on for size and the pants are too loose. Paper Tiger, not feeling great about his civ chances here.

SpeedChuck:
Chuck seems very measured and calculated in his interactions and posts. Careful Boi. He'll do a bit of poking here, a bit of prodding there, and like a fluffy lil marshmallow he'll puff right back up afterwards. Not my strongest civ-read but not my strongest suspect/ping either.

Sprityo:
Early "town slip" with the whole "mafia will organize votes" thing, which points in his favor but could just as easily be a fake out since in the last, 4 or 5 games I've played, someone tried something close to or similar to that in at least 2. Cheering on the town and trying to be a motivator, which again just last game (Mega-Man) there was a whole fuggin page and a half discussion about how I was being down on the town and trying to demotivate everyone so that strikes me as noteworthy. Seems to be enjoying his relative safety and hasn't offered much in the way of his own reads, but I like that he's going to kill whoever doesn't vote.

TH:
Kinda feels like TH is winging it but TH ends up on DDL as a suspect which I agree with. A lot of TH's earlier stuff feels more like trial balloon territory than anything with any meat on it. Not bad.

Eloh:

Starts with the kill-rotation observation that I found pingworthy for its general "Trying to look helpful without actually being helpful"-ness. Dunks on chuck and then reverses, then dunks on Luna and DDL. Very aggressive. I'd hold off on lynching her because I've been wrong about Eloh more times than not, but I'm not gonna give her the keys to the city here just yet.

MacDougall:
Who?

Dr. Wilgy:
Yikes.
OK so those are my reads. DDL gets my vote. Voting DDL now

I don't know what this is. The whole game has been talking about this mechanic, and Sprityo has talked about how he'll handle the flamethrower.

I'll be the first to admit that I have no idea what your town game looks like, but what I've seen so far isn't great.

DH, You had a good point about Eloh's posts "trying to be helpful, but not really being helpful," and her pushing at Speed, DDL, and myself.
I especially felt like her response to my MacDougall vote looks a bit forced. Like she was looking for a reason to place blame somewhere.

We'll see RE: Eloh.
I read you read post, and agreed with some of it. If you didn't expect anyone to read or agree with any of it, why did you bother?
What I meant was I don't think you should just parrot what I said in justification of your vote. I would like to see more of your own thought process, and more of everyone's own thought process for that matter.

Of course I expect people to read and some people to agree with me, that's not the point tho.

His posts are Image level. Either not so important mechanic talk or just agree with whoever he quoted Image

Eh. The “Speed could be bad, wait, Speed could be good.” thing is annoying enough on a D1 where not much has happened and a DDL bandwagon seems to be leaving the station. Colin has been pushing weaksauce stuff against two people I’m kinda townreading rn: Speed and DH. I’ll put my vote on him for now, and perhaps move it if he elaborates on those feelings in a satisfactory way.

Bandwagons and moving votes and shit doesn't matter as much in this set up. What matters most here is the strength behind individual votes and cases. Am I wrong?

Assuming Sprit keeps his word and kills a non-voter, and assuming Mac doesn’t show up at the 11th Hour, this lynch is a done deal. I think the cases against Luna and DDL are interesting but still fairly weak. I’m poking around based on gut and seeing what happens, basically. Developing a possible list of suspects and feeling people out.

I can see *why* sprit would kill a non-poster and I wouldn't raise hell if he did, but part of me is like... give it a day

to actually answer your question, (apologies, hit submit too early) I think what matters most is identifying townreads and trustworthy folks, then getting them elected. You could have the most rock solid case and be completely ignored if Mr. Flamethrower is inclined towards something else.

Not normally. And the weirder thing is that she came in right after you said that and began talking. And in her post, she says she voted Mac bc she didn't know who to vote for. I'm not sure I trust that or her.
