Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Game Over

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 9
I'm home sick today so I've got a chance to catchup on some things. I'll start with the Dr since I haven't made much of an effort to follow that. So we know the doc experiments on bodies and MM was seen with TH's corpse, so I get what you are saying about MM. Some questions.
1. Do we know Dr Dre is a bad role? Could it be indy or civ? It doesn't sound particularly civ, but it could be indy, imo.
2. Have we found out anything about the dr's moves? Like, if he brought TH back, could TH now be tied to the doc somehow? Maybe TH gained BTSC with the doc or something? I've found a few bits of info on the map that explain bits about a few things, but nothing about the doc.
3. Is your sole reason for voting MM that you think he is the doc? What if the doc isn't bad?
Thanks in advance, I'm just trying to flesh out a few running threads i've skipped over in my haste.

And re: Wilgy and the trickster angle, is this because the role never used its power? If Eloh wasn't around I can see why she didn't use it, but yes, Wilgy was smart enough to remove himself from a poll to a) save his life and b) hint at his role, so I can buy the trickster idea quite easily.

All of that is true. None of it means that MM or I should be lynched.Matt F wrote:Golden - Not that it matters, nobody else seems to want to lynch MM. But I do know I saw MM with Turnip's dead body then Turnip is back. In the profile, it says Dr Dre likes to experiment on dead bodies.
Like I said earlier, I don't think it was MM who experimented on me. You're working that angle because that's what you saw, that's the only info you have and you're trying to leverage it. You didn't see that Epi was in my square the night I died. You didn't see who else was also in the area at the time. And do you know what that square does? It's a portal Matt. MM could have come there from halfway across the damned map. You are not considering all the things you did not see or do not know.
But level with me. What do you think happened? Because it sounds like you're going from "Hmm TH died and came back, that was an odd thing to happen," and "Hmmm MM and TH were in the same square how odd" and turning it into "We should lynch MM and TH." What dots are you connecting?

Matt F, do you have any thoughts on MM voting Timmer or on Timmer in general?
He went hard against juliets and to a lesser extent Floyd. I don't think he's Cabal.
No mention of Typhoony all game. Mentioned Wilgy a couple of times. Nothing hard that suggests he isn't Circle.
Dom and LoRab have 2 small interactions in the game, both of them agreeing with each other on Mac. Beyond that they don't mention or comment on each other's thoughts. Why not? What's going on with the two of you?

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 6
What if a dagger isn't even called a dagger until you use it? I've said explicitly, I had never heard the term "obsidian dagger" until after Epig died from it. I can't say more, I'm not a fan of dumping, but that should be enough for you to get what I'm saying.Metalmarsh89 wrote:timmer, I don't believe you wert this statement. I don't think you could use a dagger on another player without knowledge of what it could do (if I'm reading the accusation correctly against you from Golden). You did not post in the thread leading up to the start of Day 6. Epignosis was killed 2 hours after Day 6 started. You did not post during this time either, and didn't post again until 12 hours after Epignosis's death.timmer wrote:Golden, I don't have time for a lot of detail here, but I think I can say that you have hit on some truth but are misguided about some things as well. I am not a fan of info dumping but will say that I have come into contact with an item that was not actually what it said it was and there have been consequences. I've tried to help the cause and ultimately it seems have caused more trouble than anything.
I think the timing of Epignosis's death, along with Golden's accusations against you imply a malevolent intent. You had a questionable item in your hands that you used on Epignosis. Did you bother to ask him if he'd mind you testing an item on him?

So I just realised we can vote two options now, so C gets my vote as well for being the first letter of two of my best friends' names.
Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 9
Could be because I already placed my first vote (before LC fixed the poll) but I can't place a second vote.

I see some talk of recruitments? Is there any indication that there are recruitments?
As for Dom, I think he's likely civ. Possibly civ-friendly indie. I haven't seen baddie Dom in this game.

It seems that still doesn't give the people who already voted another vote, so I'm going to delete the poll. Here's what it looks like now:
If any of these people don't vote again, then I'll count their vote here. Linki: Except for Bullz.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 9
I've done a lot of thought about the likelihood of the Living Statue to be civ.
I tend to think it more likely the role gets recruited by a baddie.
The advantage a baddie team would have is that if one of their people get the gem and then die, the rest of their team would still know where the gem is and would be able to complete the task. If a civ died with the gem, this wouldn't be so easy. The baddies also have the advantage of getting to know more about what is on each square by covering more squares per day, given they have non-square related btsc.
On the other side of the coin is that there are more civs (or at least at game start there were).
It could go either way.

But what civ would take it upon him/herself to find the gem, find the statue, and recruit the statue to the civ side? (Assuming that's how the role works)
I think a mafia team is more likely to coordinate such an event.

Mafia: A World Reborn - Night 9
-= Close Call =-
The Circle of Decay killer grinned, so close to its prey. The victim was going about their nightly business, completely unaware that a murderer lurked so close.Darkness fell, and the killer moved in, a killing spell glowing red in its hand. A flash of light, and a pained cry rang out, and Dom staggered out, his entire body smoking, and he fell to his hands and knees. Crawling, he moved quickly to get away, thankful that his life had somehow been spared.
The Circle of Decay kill has failed, and Dom has survived! It is now Day 10.

Glad to see you survived, Dom.
Now let's figure out who is in this circle of whatever. And who is in witherdeath, if it wasn't Wigly, and LC hasn't yet told us the team is eliminated because that would lessen the power of the seemer role. I'm stubborn and remain convinced that he was on that team.

My darling hosts:
And would love other's input on this, because it could just be me. But Thursday is US Thanksgiving. For a lot of us, that means a stressful day full of family, limited chances to get away to check mafia, added stress, and way too much food. Not to mention the copious amounts of wine. Could we consider extending this lynch and adding an extra day? That would also give us all something to do on Friday instead of supporting huge corporate masses who make employees get to work in the middle of the night for door breaker sales. So...it makes the world a better place.
I'm fine either way. But wanted to throw it out there.

All right, if I do this, then changing the poll length may erase the votes. I think that's not so catastrophic. Let me hear some opinions on this.LoRab wrote:My darling hosts:

Adding time to the poll should not erase votes from the poll.Long Con wrote:All right, if I do this, then changing the poll length may erase the votes. I think that's not so catastrophic. Let me hear some opinions on this.LoRab wrote:My darling hosts:
And would love other's input on this, because it could just be me. But Thursday is US Thanksgiving. For a lot of us, that means a stressful day full of family, limited chances to get away to check mafia, added stress, and way too much food. Not to mention the copious amounts of wine. Could we consider extending this lynch and adding an extra day? That would also give us all something to do on Friday instead of supporting huge corporate masses who make employees get to work in the middle of the night for door breaker sales. So...it makes the world a better place.
I'm fine either way. But wanted to throw it out there.
I'm fine with this happening though.

The answer: all of them, if you are a marmot.

For me, I'll have far too little time to devote to thinking game, and I'll have far too much wine dealing with the stress of being at a meal of 20 family members, that I'm not sure I'll be mentally prepared to appropriately participate. Or remember to vote. Or make an educated vote.

I'm fine either way. Thanksgiving doesn't effect me, but I am really busy.

that would make no sense either. I have voted for every member lynched except (maybe) Luke. Can't remember who I voted for then... maybe Mac. I was quite vocal about Juliets and definitely wanted floyd out.
Whatever you think you know-- you don't.
