It's been a while since I forgot about this starting...But glad to see everyone is sprouting. Sad no one made a green bean or red bean joke about alignments though. Heck no one even made a vanilla bean joke, sad times indeed.

At first glance I'm not really liking leetic that much. As a whole their posts just look performative to me like they are trying to just go through the motions of looking town than actually trying to reach any sort of conclusions from anything they are doing. Like they keep talking about lurkers and using GTH for others, but they never really seem to follow up with lurker's posting or the responses to people after GTH (which is kind of the whole point of GTH).

Thunal is another person I took note of. They have a lot of town reads which makes me lean on them having TMI. I'm curious if they have anything that isn't a town lean or null.

The last early thoughts I have are that I'm liking Scotty and pyxxy so far. Scotty also had this thing which was a minor point aligning with what i was thinking for leetic.

leetic feels more like ironic performed performativity to me, if that makes any sense

in the way that some wine must breath before one can taste its full flavor, I would be inclined to let ze leet just vibe today

although. I hate canada geese

I would like to amend this leetic opinion

I think this is slightly scummy if leetic and psy aren't the same person. Your take home assignment feels more like busy work than anything that would help you get a read. If they aren't the same person they don't necessarily have similar scum games even if they feel similar.

there's a little less throwing their vote around and a bit more focus, but otherwise it feels the same

Looking at it in context, LP's post is even more weird. Thunal's post isn't even a read, it's a simple statistical statement, and accusing that of "TMI" feels really artificial, not to mention that even if true someone having a lot of townreads is a weird reason to wolfread them. LP's post gets worse the more I look into it

I haven't played with him and I'm vaguely aware of his existence from looking at mafia league games. I can see the similarity looking at it.

I don't necessarily think it is a reaction test, tbh. I've seen odd reasoning like that and I think even that exact reasoning before for suspecting me. Some people do find throwing out townreads scummy, although usually because they think it's too agreeable rather than that it's TMI. It's mainly introductions, I wanted to be around for most people getting here so I could get stuck into things but since things are quiet I'm struggling a little & I didnt really want to miss this and have all of my reads being from backreading off the word go.

I dont think there's much to his intro? Aside from slank cover. I've never played w him before so I dont fully know what to expect, which is why I gave my few little questions to try ease into things

I honestly dont know ;_; I liked the beans reference because haha beans game, not sure about the 'woah why so pushy' thing but I dont think I could give a GTH read either way because there's so little there right now & I dont think it's impossible to say that it could come from either alignment

The whole point of a GTH is that it doesn't have to be based on anything, "I don't know" is not an acceptable answer

Last time I played with him is years ago. However, regardless of player you can always tell something from introduction posts. I know my introduction would be different had I randed a different alignment

Just an FYI, it's kind of an old school Syndicate thing, not voting new people their first game. But this isn't your first game, just your first game with him. So I do find that odd.

@Thunal33 I saw your post where you explained your vote for Scotty. Is it just pressure, or is there anything else? Seeing your thoughts on this will help me sort him, but also sort you. And after Wilgys game I kinda need to sort you, lol.

Scotty usually has more to say, I know he's busy irl, but hope to see more of him, he usually has more to say. I'm unlikely to vote him Day one on vibes without a smoking gun, though.

@leetic First, it's not "fluffposting". It's people playing their game their way, having one on one discussions with people helps me sort them. It's how I play. This AM, I was feeling a bit iffy about Sean, now, a bit better. Based on that conversation.

When I get to page 6, I'll let you know how I feel about Deltas recent posts, I haven't gotten to them yet.

I also found the "first game with X" thing odd, it wasn't just Scotty, I think perhaps Roxy also used almost exactly this same language, and it doesn't fit with old-school TS-meta, and I find it hard to think that both of them decided to somehow edit the old meta into a weird new phrasing that happened to match exactly. I also feel like I'm wearing a tinfoil hat while saying this though.

I agree with Dizzy that this is fairly par for the course for town Roxy. And the more she is pushed to post, the less she will, and town Roxys insights are very nuanced and valuable. She sees things that others often miss, small nuances.

Much as one thinks their own playstyle is the best, trying to force others to play that way is not always for the best. One may find oneself howling into the wilderness alone.

I lean town on Epi, Sean, Dizzy (he made me laugh and he seems so reasonable... famous last words ) but that could be becasue I am tending to like his attitude here. I lean town on Delta and Roxy, also pyxxy. I liked his post with the clips of the player lists, it took me a sec to get the point, but it was a good one. I find myself not really agreeing with Delta, but he feels sincere to me, like he's believing what he says.

I need to sort Scotty, Thunal, Long Con and Wilgy for my own sanity. On thread alone, I would lean town on Thunal, but after how thoroughly she bamboozled me last game, she's definitely not in my trustfall zone lol. I am conflicted on leetic, but GTH would slot him town. Everyone else is ... the Gray Zone. Greige. Taupe.

I have to go walk the dog and eat dinner. Should be back and will prolly vote before work in the AM; I have a job interview after work that I've been working towards for some time, and I won't be here for EOD. Unless I win the billions, then I'm never going to work again, or to that interview.

At first glance I'm not really liking leetic that much. @Thunal33 I still don't like the Delta post. I don't understand why they would be "spooked" by someone not voting them because it's the first time playing with him. I can understand thinking it's weird or annoying because it robs them of information or just kind of anti-town cause it creates artificial dynamics (I kind of think all these things myself). But I read his posts as being paranoid about how it could be used against them later or as a cop out as mafia. Which first of all, didn't happen, because Scotty gave a read on Delta. And second of all, I don't know really. I'm trying to imagine being Delta in a new community and then this is happening. I kind of think Delta is way too smart to be like "maybe this is nefarious!" and kind of just see it as what it is, which is (imo unnecessary) nicety, which isn't really AI. But I'm spending way too many words on this compared to how little of a deal it actually is for me.

I also don't have any wolf reads. I guess Leetic's GTH, I'd say Delta and LC are falling towards the bottom of the list. But don't take that too seriously yet.

Mostly pressure, with some slight sus on him voting Seanzie for "strong stances" (I think that's towny for Seanzie) and not making a read out of the Leetic self awareness comment.

In Wilgys game, the two of you were back and forth with each other. I have found that when I was bad and faux cased a townie, my focus on finding flaw in their town game to use it against them in that game, led me to have a really good grip on their town game the next game we played together. Are you seeing contrasts between his town game *there* and his game here from that perspective?

I also found the "first game with X" thing odd, it wasn't just Scotty, I think perhaps Roxy also used almost exactly this same language, and it doesn't fit with old-school TS-meta, and I find it hard to think that both of them decided to somehow edit the old meta into a weird new phrasing that happened to match exactly. I also feel like I'm wearing a tinfoil hat while saying this though.

I absolutely missed that, I will have to go back and reread. I was too focused on her reaction to being pushed and poked as I know that is her least favorite thing. I was following tone not content. But yeah, that was an odd interpretation of that nicety. I mean, we're a blended community, if we didn't vote for people we never played with before some games we would have a big problem.

I agree with Dizzy that this is fairly par for the course for town Roxy. And the more she is pushed to post, the less she will, and town Roxys insights are very nuanced and valuable. She sees things that others often miss, small nuances.

Much as one thinks their own playstyle is the best, trying to force others to play that way is not always for the best. One may find oneself howling into the wilderness alone.

I lean town on Epi, Sean, Dizzy (he made me laugh and he seems so reasonable... famous last words ) but that could be becasue I am tending to like his attitude here. I lean town on Delta and Roxy, also pyxxy. I liked his post with the clips of the player lists, it took me a sec to get the point, but it was a good one. I find myself not really agreeing with Delta, but he feels sincere to me, like he's believing what he says.

I need to sort Scotty, Thunal, Long Con and Wilgy for my own sanity. On thread alone, I would lean town on Thunal, but after how thoroughly she bamboozled me last game, she's definitely not in my trustfall zone lol. I am conflicted on leetic, but GTH would slot him town. Everyone else is ... the Gray Zone. Greige. Taupe.

I have to go walk the dog and eat dinner. Should be back and will prolly vote before work in the AM; I have a job interview after work that I've been working towards for some time, and I won't be here for EOD. Unless I win the billions, then I'm never going to work again, or to that interview.

Why do you townlean me?

We had a conversation in some spec chat or another. You know I have problems reading you, so I try to pay alot of attention to you. You stand out less to me when you're bad, I think. When you're town, I notice you more.

A couple of reasons. First, it's my feel that you're just a tiny bit softer when you're bad. You still want to be you, but you also don't want to be scrutinized too hard. I am not seeing that here. Your reply to me was just a tiny bit snarky, just a tiny bit. I don't see you doing so, why aggravate someone for no reason if you're bad? There's no profit in it.

The other reason is that when I made that point to you about a conversation you had with Thunal, when you replied to me, you seem to have misconstrued my point. I don't see you doing that if bad.

I mentioned in my post that it happened in the last game I played as well where the main read I was given from others was just 'you're funny so you can live :3' and a lot of fencesitting. For 5 days. So I think it's reasonable to not really want to deal with that again ;_;

It is kind of a thing of 'I dont want people witholding their reads' alongside 'I dont want people using it as a cop out' & I said it in my original post that I'd rather be voted and have people be vocal about how they're reading me because it's easier for me to work with, so I dont fully get how you read that and solely thought 'Delta's paranoia is wolfy' ?_?
