This quote came after I was like 'yeah owner would absolutely fake claim fruit vendor'. It reads very strangely to me, like gnome is more sad her teammate isn't around. Gnome spent most of D2 talking about owner and trying to seek out people's opinions on her, but did very little of that with me, and very little of anything else at all. It reads like she has some kind of agenda in terms of trying to feel out how in danger her absent teammate was.

TL;DR, yeah, I think it's like 82% likely that gnome is scum here. The only thing that makes me doubt that is that I think I've been wrong on her before, because her style just doesn't gel with mine. Also Kito townread her but I don't remember how good he is at that lol.

Oh I should clarify that I have not tried to untangle JJJ's alignment through any kind of mechanical basis yet, although I will try to weigh in on that at some point

I said this at the time even before Belzy did lol, I liked the progression that seemed to be happening in some of the reads
Her recent play really hasn't left any impression on me, I've been fairly preoccupied and self-absorbed xD which is why I'm giving up now and trying to get some good reads done before day ends

Martin's claim seems sus but I wouldn't vote him over it unless I found something in his ISO that also seemed sus. I also town read Alison (who I have recently ISOed on account of having to decide whether to heal her lol) due to her relentless suspicions of both nutella and owner, and apparently she god!townreads him so like lol

JJJ has become suspicious to me because on D1 he was very open to all ideas and being like yes let's try to listen to all perspectives and cross-community etc., and then I believe he also made a post that was like damn if we don't flip scum today (still D1) we're going to have to tighten up the ship around here. But we've now flipped two scum before D3 and he seems to still be projecting the "I'm the only one here who's going to win us the game" town beacon persona, which, maybe that's how he plays, I don't have an issue with that, but it seems in stark contrast to his attitude coming into the game.

Seanzie the only hint I gave yesterday was saying I could clear myself today but really didn’t want to claim yesterday. Some things dizzy and marmot were saying to me implied that there was a chance my action could fail, which is why I tried not to claim. Also, I confirmed that a roleblock in the night would not affect my day action, and that being blocked would not use up my shot (guillo’s gonna quote irrelevant mechanics at me, I can feel it)

I was sheeping Alison on Martin and haven’t read anything at all since day started, but I’m gonna work on getting a read on him now.

Orange quoted a read I gave on gavial very early on, and said it was short and shady. She’s not wrong, but I couldn’t elaborate because I would have had to use meta from an ongoing game to explain my concern.

Also people seem to be very confused about my claim so let’s try and make this more explicit.

I am 1-shot healer, I used my shot on Alison yesterday and I softed this yesterday when I said I could clear myself today (of course this was before the duplicate roles theory appeared lol)

The 2-shot thing was that I had planned to fakeclaim 2 shots if the poisoned player today was in PoE, so that the poisoner continued to be unable to shoot into the towncore because they’d be scared of the second shot

Well this is the worst day start I could have possibly imagined

You’d think I was having a good game given that I’ve correctly read everyone who’s flipped so far (except gav but I honestly don’t remember if that was a scum read or an annoyance read), successfully baited owner into outing herself at EoD1 (disagree if you want, this was my intention and it worked), saved Alison (who I really hope is town), and set up an elaborate plan to get the poisoner to target the PoE

And yet (and we’re going for a sort of mirror effect for the next paragraph)

I can’t claim 2-shot healer anymore because Martin has claimed 1-shot and we’ve established there are probably role duplicates. I didn’t actually save Alison, I instead wasted my shot (I knew this would happen but what are you gonna do). My EoD1 vote has everyone wanting my blood despite it being the laziest attempt to save Nutella I would have never come up with. My accurate reads are pretty much worthless because Kito and belzy are both dead, along with Nutella and owner, except fuckin’ everybody also scum read those guys so I don’t even have that going for me.

And that’s not all

Because gavial roleblocked me, someone with a goddamn day action, on N1, the same night there was no kill. Kito, who can actually read me, is dead. Sonny, who I wanted to interrogate today about things he’s said, has repped out (hope you’re okay tho).

So like now what

All I can really do is ask everyone voting me to read my posts and think about whether I’m actually teamed with Nutella and owner. Okay, I’m a player who tends to hedge a bit and allow people the benefit of the doubt when a) I don’t know them or b) they haven’t been around much. Oh hey, look at that, both apply here, that’s my luck this game. If it helps anybody see the light, here are some things I definitely don’t do if I’m on a team with Nutella and owner:
- That terrible made vote with no explanation
- Carry the kill N1 after a terrible EoD
- Come in at start of D2 and say “oh hey I caught owner” and then not draw any attention to how hard I’m scum reading her
- State that I could clear myself today yesterday (this was gonna be a ‘hey look Alison survived’ kinda deal)
- Kill Kito (I miss you </3)

Anyway, I’m gonna spend tonight playing betrayal with my flatmates because I’ve honestly never felt this demotivated as town in my life (not anybody’s fault, just a ridiculously terrible combination of factors). I’ll try to come back tomorrow and be useful.

The interaction looked okay in my overnight review and I hadn't read anything when I posted it. As I was catching up she had done nothing and her claim tweaked me. There's nothing wrong with a flower vendor claim but I have a feeling she's done it before as a fake claim, the biggest thing that made me side eye is there's no reason not to be clear on yes or no I did/did not target Jay, it was a simple question she couldn't answer which looked to me like she wasn't sure what the "correct" answer was. Pretty sure I explained at the time tho.

"Fruit vendor" is an atypical claim to make and the kind of thing that would almost certainly have to be at least somewhat tied to a real role, because it's too bizarre for someone, when pressed for a roleclaim, to blurt out "I gave someone fruit!" when there is an entire world of more common abilities available to players in mafia games.
Owner's "disappearance" can be attributed to anything. I will not provide an answer for her on that question.
Owner is probably the only person I would ever actively expect to claim fruit vendor if pressured fwiw

But this post almost feels arbitrary, as if Hawk was conscious of a need to provide evidence of reads being formed and so she just burped up this list of five unrelated names. But maybe this is just a product of hawk's solving process.

I have played with mac for about 10 years now, but he’s not a player I read exceptionally well. I think I can get a feel for him once the game has progressed some. Here, I have felt like he was knocked off balance right out of the gate and is having a hard time getting back on track. Some of his recent posts have looked like they were made by an alien in a Mac suit.

Your initial response to my reads suggested that you took issue with the list itself, but that does not seem to be the case from this response. What is your objection to my reads, if you have one?

Quick point independent from the rest of my argument in this post: the way Hawk handles Guillo in her response to me and her reads list in the first post I cited are compatible with a hypothetical wolf trying to leave the door open on a potential mischop candidate.

But on my larger point, Hawk's initial response to my Player Salad was suggestive of skepticism or dissatisfaction with my treatment of her to that point (a little bit of snark directed at my list of names, and a verbal eyeroll about my lack of engagement). I would expect a player with these feelings to want to take her turn interrogating me a little bit. Hawk has shown us in posts like this and this that she's not afraid to pursue answers her own answers to her own questions. But when I initiated an interaction, Hawk's response was the bare minimum, only answering exactly what I asked of her and not seeking to interject her own influence into the conversation. She gave me a couple generic prompts about the players I had expressed reads on, but I read that as a somewhat lethargic continuation of the prompt I had offered, and not her own thing.

The second response again feels like Hawk is doing nothing more than answering my questions exactly as they were asked with no additional progression. I particularly do not love her comments about her responses to my pressure. "I haven't been taking your vote on me particularly seriously" does not fully align with her apparent displeasure with my vote at the beginning of this exchange. She seemed bothered by it then. That doesn't mean she was necessarily "taking it seriously", but it reads as at least a little disingenuous for her to suggest here that the vote meant little or nothing to her, when she had previously made comments which suggested otherwise.

"I was mainly just saying something to make you actually talk to me lol" gets at the heart of my issue here: Hawk's words suggest she's looking for a meaningful exchange with me, which suggests that she's hoping to develop some sort of a read on me in this moment. And yet the direction of her posts suggests she is making no effort to read me. I did not feel like hawk was developing any ideas about me. I simply felt like she was checking off boxes in response to my questions.

Is it basically because of owner's interactions with nutella that is causing you to see her as looking bad? I read much of today's posts and have found nothing from owner. She seems to have disappeared (unless I'm going blind and just didn't see them). I'm wondering what to think of her dropoff in posts from yesterday to today. In my opinion, that doesn't look very towny, and I'm wondering what you're thinking.
I mean partly that but partly the other thing I said that I've been saying since yesterday lol
which is that yes I feel like she's actively hiding in the thread backlog instead of being excited by new people. but also I don't want to be like no activity = scum, but also there's not much going for her tbh

In your opinion, is hiding in the thread backlog, something that scum!owner is likely to do? Or is her bad look from yesterday and her nonpresence today making her seem like low hanging fruit? Also, what do you think of her wagon? Do you think that it's clean or that there is scum on it? Right now, I don't know how to read Owner so I am trying to explore all possibilities.

Yes, that's what I have been referencing this whole time with the Tripped on an Adventure sub meta. Sure she's LHF but like there are also legit reasons to suspect her so meh? The wagon is pretty big but I haven't even got to reading this fruit vendor drama yet so will have a look after that xD I'm not super confident reading owner either fwiw so if these questions are looking to sheep me then maybe look elsewhere

My thoughts on owner haven't evolved from like 20 pages ago primarily because I haven't read most of them yet
I think she looks bad from nutella interactions and specifically how nutella didn't seem interested in encouraging a wagon there when it was the most popular alternative to herself (nanook admittedly disagrees with my take on this which I am considering), also she's reminding me of when she subbed into tripped on adventure as scum

I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty much because he's voting me and I'm offended
But having had that thought I did realise I was letting him have too much of a free pass. That list isn't really scum reads so much as people who I trust less than I did yesterday.
