Scotty wrote: Tue Jul 06, 2021 3:36 pm Wow triple post! I don’t think I’ve seen that before.

@Felicis the best part of doing these little shindigs is that you only get better if you fail first. Not that what you did was failing, but it was indeed a learning experience. Don’t let it deter you from doing big games again- every game has different parameters and will bring different experiences. Please do keep playing! I won’t say you’ll get better, because I think I’ve only got worse with my playing.

But might you have more fun as you play? Maybe!
Thank you 😊😊

Re: AtLA post-game (mafia win)

That's a good point, thanks for the explanation, see I also didn't realize there would be consequences for mafia until the very end of the game, so I rest thought that when I anti-claimed it would be helpful, but alas it was not. I'm sorry for getting on your case a bit, my anxiety can really get the better of me and I thought that everyone would be really upset with me at a foolish play like that.

And hey thank you for the encouragement that really means a lot

Re: AtLA post-game (mafia win)

MartinGG99 wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 8:51 pm idk what you all are on about the soup kill, it was warned and so it happened. But I would imagine if there hypothetically was a new player who didn't know what a soup kill was, there probably should be some sort of clarification of what that soup-kill was and/or its extent. Other than that, I had no problems with the mechanic.

One of my personal issues with the game is that I feel the game/town wouldn't let me kill !mafia LoMo for his actions during the event, and I feel like some parts of the game inhibited my scum-hunting and focus.

And because of that, I didn't really learn anything nor feel like I will improve in any way from the game other than to more actively consider such distractions and (if its just unnecessary like toxicity) consider just leaving the game or contacting the MoD's myself (if applicable) if I encounter it in the future. If I don't feel like I could learn or improve from a game, then I hardly can feel fun if I'm trying to give it all at times. Especially since this was my first town game after three back-to-back wolf rands. This? it was a massive disappointment to me for what I (admittedly, half-my-problem) put my hopes really high up for.

I'm not going to start pointing fingers at anyone though.
Hello, I am the new player who had never heard of a soup kill before. But it was explained in the game thread early D1, but I misunderstood or misread it (common for me). I knew it meant scum could kill someone based purely on role or character, but I didn't realize it was more than one character or that the kills would not be capped. I thought I understood, but I didn't. Not having the mechanics of the soup kill explained was def a detriment to me and my play, and I would *not* have claimed if I properly understood how the soup kill worked. I know now that maybe it should have been obvious to me because it is called "soup" kill, so multiple ingredients to make a soup = multiple kills in the soup, but it didn't dawn on me til much too late. I'm sorry for the shite play, I think I might just stay away from bigger games for a bit since I have a lot to learn and don't want to mess up the funs for anyone else on my team who's working hard to pull a win for their faction.

I will say though, now that I better understand the way the soup kill works, I don't think me pointing out Guillo's fake kill claim would have killed me faster, bc everyone knew there was a vig shot meaning my role existing in the game was pretty much outed when Mac turned up dead n red. Especially since the soup kill didn't require specifics for it to be counted, just character or power role, I think that vig spot was done for regardless and it was just a matter of waiting for scum to attempt a kill with a longer list. It did however give scum more information in that they now had more hunting to do to discover Guillo's role, meaning they'd have the potential for another kill in the soup.

Thanks for mostly bearing with my noobliness, folks.

I have a history of doing this as town. Outing a secret plan, I mean (seanzie can attest) and it's never intentional. I'm genuinely curious and I genuinely get confused and I spew where I shouldn't.

Martin, I appreciate knowing that a fake claim like that is not necessarily AI for Guillo. I think I believe that he may be town who wanted to protect the vig, that or 3p if we've got it.

I really was just trying to give town something concrete to work with and the only concrete thing I have is who I am.

Re: AtLA D3

Hi I've also finally decided to come clean. Maybe this is a shit idea and I'll die for it I don't know, but after the Axe fiasco I think town deserves as much accurate information as possible right now, especially with 7 of us down.

So, here goes:

Image

I really hope that gif formatted properly, but if not;

Hello, Zuko here.

I avenged KZA/Mai and killed Mac/Azula N1. For my honour and the honour of the Town. I didn't counterclaim D2 because when Guillo claimed the kill, I was confused and wanted to know where he was trying to take it. It didn't really go anywhere though, or spark discussion in any way.

Guillo, this is why I questioned you D2 about your play. I don't necessarily think you're scum, in fact, if we have a 3p faction like I think we do in this game (it's just a hunch, things feel extra unhinged for some reason, I could absolutely be way off), I'd probably put you in that category based on your posts. You're solving (in your own way lol), you *mostly* seem to have town's interests in mind in the sense that you seem to be scum-hunting, but there's still something not sitting right with me.

Did you really just claim my kill to throw it in Mac's face, or did you have other reasons? Why fake it? Were you hoping I'd counterclaim right away?

That's the biggest TMI point in the entire ISO.

The good thing is that lost monkey has actual alignment reads (even if they are bad); I remember their wolf ISO from our last game together barely having even that. But the reads themselves aren't good at all, and the treatment of Falcon should realistically spew him town if Lost Monkey is mafia.

I still think Falcon is the wolfier of the two, but maybe flipping lost monkey first is the play, considering Falcon's spewed town if Lost Monkey is mafia and Lost Monkey isn't spewed town if Falcon is mafia. Would like people's input on this.

1. The responses aren't completely the same because Fallout 2 was incredibly mech-heavy and claim-heavy.

2. Not everything matches up cleanly. A few slight things are different; he had a coherent understanding of his interactions with Fallout-Falcon back on day 2 of that game where Falcon got mod-killed.

3. Although it's interesting to note the timestamps are quite similar; The ones that are quoted from here happen in a few minutes just like the quotes from Fallout 2.

Vulgard, seems actually solving and making some (at least what feels like, to me) strong reads with a lot of cross referencing and isos

Long Con, probably should be null bc of minimal posting, but I liked their EOD yesterday cuz they wanted to be cognizant of a hammer and (it felt like) careful not to misyeet.

Naviya, wasn't sure at first how to interpret their early roleclaim, but I can't explain it, I just get a villagery vibe. Maybe it's all the meowing.

Grogu, again unsure at first what to think with the Aang claim and I was a little sus after axe said he knew who Aang was but didn't say if Aang was Grogu or not so I got a little paranoid. I realized it probably wouldn't be good for town for axe to reveal that info tho, which again made me start to think why Grogu would claim and then later urge Axe not to share who Aang was. Grogu is technically a town to null read for me, likely slightly less towny in my mind because of my own paranoia.

Hollowkatt, mraaahhhh I don't really know and I'm probably wrong like I usually am but I get semi good feels from you so I'm leaning town. Gonna iso and see if that changes. Pls be a good guy, don't embarrass me.

Null/middle of the road-ish:
Seanzie, giving bod for the most part because I know seanzie teaches and I believe that he's busy irl. I'm just not sure what to think purely because this is not how I've seen seanzie play, either town, scum, or 3p. There was a comment that felt much more like what I'm used to but it was the only one of its kind. I'm not gonna tunnel you off this sean, but if you end up having the time to come back and add some more thoughts I would like that.

Axe, honestly probably just a scummy towny. Has town blood on his hands, and I reaaaaaaaaaally don't get the faked red and dont really like his style of pushing, but I keep getting this gut feeling that he might just be town. I'm having a hard time coming to consensus in my head though so placing him here.

Lomo, the event thing sucked but I know that things can get fucked up without the mistakes coming from scum. Some interactions with falcon were interesting though, might have to iso in that direction and see if I come up with anything useful and if this changes.

Jack, I am unsure! If you're town I want you healed but I don't know if you're town lol I don't know if you're scum either though :p sit here for a bit pls.

Guillo, you confuse me sir, but I don't necessarily think you're a wolf based on your solving (as difficult as it can be to interpret sometimes 🥲), but I'm not really sure you're town either. I don't know if we have 3p in this game because nook said it was a maybe in setup, but I feel like you could be 3p here if 3p does exist. Just vibeywibeys.

null-ish to scum (these are technically folks I don't really know where to place, but I have the least towny vibes on them and will require more re-reading on my part, hence "null-ish to scum")

Falcon, mentioned some interactions with lomo earlier but still have to analyze. Purely unsure about you and leaving you in the last category. You pushed Lomo for the event mess-up which made me go enh, but that could easily just be frustrated disappointed Towny. Fitting you here for now.

DoO, not really sure, says had a bad night but unsure if they mean in game night or irl night. Might just be low posting. I shrug bc idk.

Creature, Martin, TSP, I've got to re-read y'all cuz I'm struggling to place you even semi-confidently; biggest thing is that I don't feel my usual towny pinginess in your direction yet.
Jesus, that's a lot of words for just waking up.
I'm in bed :p once I start typing my thoughts they kinda just... go. Lmao I'm sorry for the wall of text. I'll think of a player and then collect what I know about them in my head, analyze a bit and start typing my feelings out. It can result in... Well... This 😬

Why do you send bisons? Can you explain plz
I send them b/c I care :)
It's like fruit vendor but I'm not target restricted (can send to the same person repeatedly if I want to) and it's a picture of appa (of my choosing, with no game text) instead of fruit
That's pretty slick. Do you choose who it goes to, or just random town?
I get to choose where it goes
Well, then shouldn't you know who got the bison?
Huh good point. Unless HK is trying to see if anyone fakes receiving a bison by asking who got it? Iunno

Re: AtLA D3

Not super awake or 100% caught up yet, just done a morning skim so bear with me please. This might be a long post.

I'm a little discouraged by both the 7 town deaths and my own play, but I need to give town more to work with and I don't feel like I've been doing that with just a few questions here and there and minor shade based on plays that confuse me. I read up until last night so here are my current reads for now. I'm really doubtful and not that confident in them which I realize might not be as helpful as I'd like, but this is what I'm feeling and where I'm at.

So axe lied or there's someone with redirect powers (or some other possibility I dunno)? Axe knows he'd get outed for lying about a red check after Dana's green flip, would he still make that play?? This feels too wifom-y and I don't want to think about it at 10:45 at night so I'm going to go have a snack and be sad and confused about it instead.

Lol no I just don't really get your play here if you actually did shoot Mac. But it's cool, keep shading me I guess🙄
Kinda seems like you're trying to shade Guillo
Maybe a little, cuz I don't super understand how outing himself as 1shot vig is helpful for town but maybe I'm just not seeing something. If you're town, guillo, you do you, I'm just worried and probably a little paranoid that scum will use the soup kill on you and if they do and you are town then we're down 6 and that's a little scary. I was shading and pushing you a little but I'm not trying to throw you under any buses here. Just confusion in my brain.

Anyway I've put my vote back on Dana. I'm worried about wrongness but I want to believe in this red check. I'll try to be around here and there throughout the evening if I can.

This is someone who actually knows exactly what is going on and is managing their perceived reaction to it rather than concerned with the underlying question. Really over-managing I should say.
You don't know me so you don't have to believe me, but I tend to lay things out fairly clearly, and my stream of consciousness is often in-thread. I also tend to vaguely relay my irl goings on so folks know when to expect me back in the thread.

I really do have to go though. I'll probably be around tonight.
