I suspect Tim is going to tunnel me in every game going forward. And eventually he will be right to

You need to learn to work your way clear. Step one is to acknowledge the substance of the suss. "Wahhh, I'm being tunneled" is seldom effective. In this case you were hard shielded by a flipped wolf, which allowed you to get off a claimed vig shot on a townie. Sussing that isn't tunneling, it's just calling out the most questionable chain of events in the game.

You were pushing me before WIML flipped and you tunnelled me in our last game. I made my vig shot on N1 and WIML was defending me most heavily on D2 so your sequence of events is incorrect.

I pushed you because Alison scum read you day one, and Wiml stopped her. The only information available was that Alison was the NK, so that's what I worked with. The most likely reason for Alison getting NKed was that she was onto you and Wiml was't going to be able to keep her from flipping you...which would in turn make Wiml's day one shield indefensible.

It's basic wolfing. If I day one white knight somebody as a wolf I don't kill the person that is gonna flip them. I want that person alive so they can flip them and prove I was right.

This would be a great argument if Alison had scum read me and me alone but she had a huge lead of potential scumreads:

Two one shot vigs are equivalent to one multiple use vig in my book. The main difference as I see it is you are more likely to see more deaths early on.

The role cop sounds good but wasn't that much use as both sides have power roles

The mystery role might be usable every night but equally it could be one shot/limited shot.

We also know that WIML had a power role. The other wolves could also have PRs too. It's too early to make a definitive judgement on game balance.

It's up to the host usually here, if it is mandatory kills, the host will often state it in the OP/rules.

I thought I saw someone suggest that Orange was subbing out but can't find it now.

I think we're in a good position overall but we all (and I include myself) need to try and step up a bit more or we risk death by slankiness.

Taking the "you are both new here" one step further...as a wolf if you are town he could just soft peddle the read. "Yeah, I think he's town and yeah we've played before." Let you get killed anyway, and play it off as he was never sure either way. Where's the benefit to w!Wiml of a strong white knight play on a t!Wurzel when you are in fact new to the server and not likely to have a lot of influence?

Compare it to his treatment of me. Sure, I was a townread...but always "just because Esooa" and he talked about "taking another look" at least two or three times. He was clearly setting up the eventual flip on the read there. And he was all bravado about how I couldn't put him over. Again, no offense, but if he is ready to challenge me about putting him over do you really think he was gonna kid glove you?

I'm sure that is how you would play it and it might well be how I would play it but it is not how WIML would play it. It is a fundamental part of WIML's game that he likes to defend town players he knows regardless of alignment.

For example, lets look at his most recent completed scum game:

In this game, WIML subbed in on day 1 as a wolf. He said he didn't know many players in this game but is soon defending one of the players he does know Marluxion at #517, #525, #542, #663. Marl was town here and as we know is a good player. By your logic, WIML should not be doing this but he is. This is how we plays the game and IMHO why he gets town read so often because people don't believe a scum player would white knight.

And as an aside you say that WIML was questioning you but in his reads list he had you as more town than me #1787

I know I like setup speculation but a disproportionate amount of this ISO concerns the set up.

CONCLUSION: Not enough evidence to solidly read as town or scum now but firmly in the POE. If their posting doesn't improve likely to be resolved by reading other slots

Ender – several of his posts have pinged me but I am not quite sure enough to scum read yet

Falcon – early town PR claiming is anti-town
Gavial slot – his behaviour was massively anti-town
Nanook – His claimed PR sounds incredibly suss to me (do day cops even exist?) Feels like a good way to get a cheap town read

Why wouldn't you have shot the other 3 players you had as much higher scum reads?

That was my list of very initial thoughts earlier on in the day. I then read Ender's ISO and decided he definitely was a wolf (see #1209). I also then made him my top scum read at #1370

Regarding my own wagon, I admit that I probably have had lower WIM than usual today and have been a bit on autopilot. There is a good reason for that.

As everyone seems to be outing their roles now, I am one shot town vig. Unfortunately, I used my one shot on Ender.

Just to give some background on this: in one of my fairly recent games, I took part in a Hydra. My partner and I were town and got a free vig shot. I wanted to shoot Tim and his partner as they were posting in gifs. My partner persuaded me to holster as it was risky to shoot. We holstered. Tim was a wolf and that game was mafia sweep.

So since then I said if I got a vig again I would use it. I strongly scum read Ender and it didn't look like anyone was going to vote him out so I used the vig.

What is really annoying is I could have vigged Hollowkatt but everyone insisted on yeeting him on d1.

I'm sorry for my mistake. Still on the plus side it looks like we've got a wolf.

Here is my updated reads list

Duskfall - lock town
Tim - town (through gritted teeth) mainly due to Essoa
WIML - still towny. One of the main players driving the game forward
Lost Monkey - lean town. Getting good vibes from him
Nanook - lean town. Getting much better vibes from him today

Herm - null - has gone completely AWOL
Marmot - null - giving a day pass as just subbed in
Creature - null
Orangecrush - null - a priority to ISO this evening as currently under threat

Falcon - lean scum - bad vibes but need to ISO properly
SIG - lean scum - didn’t like them refusing to provide reads (not helpful)
Ydrasse - My gut strongly says this slot is scum but I am hesitant to vote here because of the PR claim.

I’ll do some reading up and will vote later but it’s currently between the bottom 4

my read on nanook is like "sure, wolf i guess" so i'm fine sheeping there. i feel confident in creature town currently. i was liking tim but then i did not like tim's vote on nanook and how falcon was like "join me". sensing a bit of trepidation especially since it's worded as a vote parked there for now i.e. ready to jump off when possible. i might be worrying that i let off my scumread on that slot too early.

my pr is as gavial described it: imagine a can of lacroix and the flavor is power role. i'm not interested in talking more about it currently.

sig being mildly outraged no one interacted with them on me is like, probably town. i think? outrage that town isn't listening to them on a read they believe in sort of thing.

Like, yeah, but I don't think Wurzel does flip red. If that happens then sure we can cross that bridge but I think he's way into his town meta right now. His tone is impeccable, he's doing everything I would expect from him as town currently and he's clearly trying to solve, even if that's in a relatively basic way. I've seen his wolf game and it honestly wasn't at all comparable to how he says his town games.

But I highly doubt I'm going over this game. I'm blatantly obvious town here.

His early posts were trying to solve. Lately he's just asking other their reads, giving no real conclusions or pushes based off that I can see

I mean yeah that's right. I don't think it's necessarily wolfy but it depends a lot on context of what he was trying to achieve I think.

@Don Wurzeloni when you're next around would you mind saying what your goal was wrt asking a lot of questions on their reads?

See my answer to Falcon above. It is trying to force players to commit and making it harder for the wolves to slank. And also to help me narrow down by POE depending on the answers e.g. I really don’t like Sig’s answer to my request for reads

I'd expect him to give more that that after info, not withdraw and give less reads and pushes.

I will be doing more ISOing today to try and clear more of my nulls but I think that pushing other people for reads is really important too. We seem to have a lot of naturally slanky/bantery players in this game and without putting pressure for reads on it is too easy for the wolves.

Had a look at Alison’s ISO. Unfortunately, it’s not very useful as she had 4 players in her POE and another 3 she had issues with.
