Dodo has no idea how it's all going so wrong.

She'd done everything right. She had lured the birds to an isolated area, blocked their means of escape. She'd sown the seeds of doubt and paranoia in them.

But they'd sussed out another of her minions. Once again, they swarm. This time, they've picked Marmot the junco.

They aren't picked up by an enterprising passerby looking for a free meal. They're pushed off the sea bluff to feed the fish.

It is quiet. Too quiet.

Let's have a look at what Dodo is up to.

Dodo... where are you? There she is.

She is asleep. It seems she didn't manage to get up to any shenanigans overnight. Perhaps a bird tinkered with her alarm?

Either way, the birds have woken up, whole. Optimism is in the air.

It looked like another day, just as any other. The birds squabbled, they tweeted, they foot-fleeted, but then an incriminating cheep was uttered.

They stop. Silence.

Dodo stares in horror from her perch.

Everyone turns to look at Wiml the Canada Goose. Could it be true? Was this bird responsible for selling one of their own?

Dodo watches as the birds gather together and peck at Wiml. He crumbles beneath the onslaught, no longer visible even from a bird's-eye view. When the flock backs away, all that's left is a goose plucked clean, featherless and helpless.

A passing tourist mistakes him for a roast chicken and takes him home for dinner. And not the romantic kind.

Far above, Dodo stamps her feet. "Well, I wasn't paying attention anyway," she says. But she knows that's a lie. She knows this is important, dearly so.

The birds are satisfied. They've done good.

The dawn breaks. A rooster far away crows the conspiracy of birds awake.

Dodo gazes upon her territory, satisfied. She waits until they notice.

And notice they do. ALISON and ENDERWIGGIN are missing. Nobody had woken up. Had the man returned? Did more of their flock get taken and gifted to a seven-year-old who believes birds aren't real?

Dodo turns away from the incessant, desperate cawing of the mass of feathers below.

"Who are you? What are you doing to us?" ALISON asks. The kingfisher looks at Dodo with an expression of terror.

She smiles, as much a dodo can. "I'm retired."

"Retired from what?" asks the bald eagle, ENDERWIGGIN.

"Being a bird, of course." She pats ALISON and ENDERWIGGIN on the head. "And I'm taking you all with me."

Dodo cackles. The foolish birds have not realized the folly of their antics. She watches as they bicker, plume, preen, nip, and tumble. Not a one suspects the guiding feather.

At the far end of the sea bluff rests a dilapidated building by a gravel road. A car pulls up as the birds fight, and a man in a long trench coat steps out. He dons a twirling mustache, and you can see the French accent exude from his eyes before he ever speaks. Where did Dodo find such a specimen?

It matters not. He opens the back door of his Citroen and retrieves an empty cage. He wades into the gathering of birds. He opens the cage and peers out at the selection, and notices HOLLOWKATT singled out from the rest. "Ah! Zis is the one." he declares. Hesitating for a moment to look at a far-off bluff, he waits until the tiny form of Dodo waves a wing in approval. "Into ze cage," he chides, grabbing the frogmouth and stuffing it into the wire-framed prison.

He carries HOLLOWKATT back to the car despite the pecks and wing smacks from the other birds. WIth the cage stuffed securely into the back, he slams the door shut, gets into the driver's seat, and makes a quick exit. The birds find their pursuit halted, their wings clipped and their little padded feet clumsy.

HOLLOWKATT the frogmouth has been sold to an irresponsible pet owner. They were 3P.

The crowing of the flocks of birds is relentless.

What was once a quiet sea bluff is now teeming with various species of bird. None know why they're there, only that they were called by an almost preternatural instinct deep inside to travel to this destination.

They try to leave, and find themselves return.

They try to sleep the dream away, but find themselves awake.

The birds are here to stay. But for what reason?

Far away on an overlooking bluff, a dodo studies the collection with an appraising gaze. She knows a selection of the birds below are up to no good.

She won't intervene. After all, it's the dodo's turn to laugh.

There is no majority vote. Phases are full length. (This may change in the endgame, but only with everyone's consent.)

There is no town night chat. There is a one-hour twilight chat after the flip.

Start and end times are at 3:00 PM PDT, with twilight chat going for a full hour after the flip. Thread is locked between EOD and flip for host convenience.



Angleshooting: Do not quote the host's private communications. Do not use Outside Game Information to inform your interactions with other players. This is less letter of the law and more sentiment and feel. If I think you're trying to skirt the rules to break the game, I will modkill without hesitation.

Appeals to emotion: Permitted, unless you are saying that the game is causing tangible harm to your life. If you say this, I will seek a replacement for you.

Roleclaiming: Permitted.

Flavour claiming: Permitted. Characters are independent of alignment.

Victory conditions: Wolves require parity with town at day start. Town requires the elimination of all wolves.
