what do you think about it?
arete's stuff (this day, this game in general) is not doing a ton for me and their d3 just feels wack and agenda-driven. I have a hard time believing they genuinely believed "vulgard is 99% a villager" and that it was good village play to hard shield him and go nuts on sunbae. like, wtf, that made no sense for sunbae to do that as a wolf, how can you be so arrogant about your townread on vulgard in that situation? seems wild to me

Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 4]
The bafflement was about vulgard's townread on marl, not sunbae. It was a truly ridiculous reason.staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 4:43 pm puts vulgard near the top of his townleans on https://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic ... 33#p798633. (i’d like to hear a little more from zack about this - what inspired him to townread vulgard after he was so baffled by vulgard’s reasoning for townreading sunbae?).
a d1 readslist from me is more accurately "who i'm down to kill today" than real reads. Vulgard was plainly putting in effort to solve, even if I didn't agree with him, lots of other people were saying he was towny, good enough for me. There's a limit on how much I can truly delve into each player in the early days of a 17er, which is part of why the picture becomes much clearer as the number of living players shrinks. (Also why it's so key to have a good d1 as scum, first impressions are huge and the momentum of being widely townread d1 carries forward in big ways the rest of the game.)
On d2 the only reason I townread him at all was literally arete's supposed godread, and even then they singled me out when voicing displeasure about people doubting said godread.

Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 4]
vulgard was talking about tangy's readslist still on d3 yesterday as the reason to keep the slot out of the poe, and I don't know why a wolf would give a fuck about defending a villager in the poe on the basis of some reads list they posted on early/mid d1 being well constructed
I kind of want to say vulgard would have rolled over if there was a wolf fairly deep, but that might be a bad read

Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 4]
or hell, if wagons were v/v he could've pushed for the bronana cfd he was clearly hinting at. vulgard seemed weirdly preoccupied with not killing dya given his townread of alison and dya supposedly being much further down in his list
devil's advocate: maybe he thought it would make a super easy d3 to turbo v!dya after alison flips green, and that the converse was not necessarily the case.
devil's advocate to the devil's advocate: he knew that if dya flips wolf, the alison misyeet disappears as a possibility
somewhat related, i feel like the timing of vulgard turning on me roughly coincided with when i started making noise about wolfreading chloe, but I haven't checked the exact timing on that.

the amount of hand-wringing and justification for voting alison at the end seems strange if the wagons were v/v. In that case he could just make a point of taking a firm stance on either side since it doesn't matter (unless he thought there was genuine merit to c4's PR read of alison i suppose, but lol?)
