Re: Philosophy Mafia 2: Electric Boogaloo

leetic wrote: Wed Dec 01, 2021 6:48 pm @Dyslexicon, are you tired of me scumreading you? If so, I've got good news for you, because I've just come up with a brilliant plan that could potentially remove you from the PoE. However, if it is to happen, I need the cooperation of @staypositivefriend.

What are you testing?
Well, you see, when I was thinking over your claim I remember that you said that your messages would roleblock people if you are scum. Well, I was thinking that that is something we could test, and I've come up with a way to do it.

So what's the plan?
So, spf uses her second JOAT ability, the one that "can make a players(sic) actions go through on the night that [spf targets] them". If I'm understanding the role correctly, use it on LC, as it's important that his role works tonight. Then, Dyslexicon should send a message to spf. If spf is not roleblocked, then that means Dyslexicon is not mafia according to their claim.

Why does it have to be spf?
Simple process of elimination, well a different PoE to finding wolves but you get the point.
- Esooa and anne have roles that would be perfect for testing roleblocks, but both are likely to be targeted by LC, and if LC dies then those results would be muddled.
- LC's action is too important to risk roleblocking.
- iaafr and Wilgy used their shots and no longer have a night action.
- Marmot and I/ilario never had a night action to begin with.
- Not fully sure that I understand @anne's claim fully, but if it's a potential tracker it could still be useful.

Why should I go along with this plan?
Even if some people townread you, you don't have the mechanical/game event-related evidence that keeps iaafr, LC, and Marmot out of the PoE. If you can do this without roleblocking spf, then you will at the very least move above Wilgy in my list. And, if spf says she was roleblocked, then that means either you or spf lied, and we can solve from there. We already did well today to remove iaafr and Axehole from the PoE, narrowing it further will basically guarantee a town victory as long as town doesn't fall asleep at the wheel.

Does anyone else need to do anything?
@Lime Coke, don't target Dyslexicon or spf if they go along with the plan. I won't tell you how to use your role further, just to use it. Everyone else can just do whatever.

That is a cool plan!
Why, thank you very much. If we can focus on solving, there's no way that we'll lose!
ftr im fine with doing this and i think this is super towny

youre very clever trying to group yourself in with nutella in my townreads :P i do think that both of you have been very towny but i think that nutella is townier than you tbh - that is largely because nutella has done more stuff in this game that i perceive as Hard To Fake than you have, and most of my reasons to townread you boil down to tone/sincerity, and that really isnt enough to justify having you as a townread at this stage of the game

Alright if you're that confident I'll vote Esooa when the time is right.

Who do you think is her partner?

I'm going to have to leave the house so I'll be back later tonight.
if this game is easy, then all of the wolves are contained within esooa/drwilgy/dyslexicon/anne

i think that iaafr is clear. i think that lime coke is obvious town. i think that nutella is town. i think that marmot is town. i think that illario/leetic as town. i have some paranoia about misreading a slot among those names, but i haven't seen any good arguments for why any of them could be a wolf, and i'm not going to overcomplicate a game that has so far proven to be pretty simple and straightforward

Re: Philosophy Mafia 2: Electric Boogaloo

totally minor point but fwiw i disagree with the notion that mac was a "softcore" wolf to catch - yes, the majority of the thread had POE'd him, but the majority of the thread was also weirdly reluctant to vote for him or push on him, and a large portion of them were willingly sheeping his wolfread on me a couple of hours before the EOD. the momentum on mac only really came back once i outright called him a wolf at the EOD, and he probably wouldnt have gone through at all if i didnt emphasize several times that i thought he was clearly the best chop

the fact that mac was very clearly trying to angle me to be mischopped is probably the most clearing thing for me, in conjunction with the fact that i brought him back in contention as a chop at a point when his position was relatively "safe"

jagged was still clearly "off" on d1 even if his posts felt like his typical towngame on a surface level. in a similar sense, if nutella was a wolf in this game, i would expect her posts to have a similar level of feeling "off", but i feel that her posts have gotten more expressive and more natural as time has gone on. it is possible that nutella is playing the wolfgame of her life and that im just misreading her, but i dont see any logical reasons for me to wolfread her slot beyond her voting patterns, and i think she looks quite towny in every other respect

Yeah, no. There are very few people the wolves can actually be at this point, and spf/Wilgy is the only remotely plausible scumteam that doesn't contain you or those two
for one, im not a plausible wolf at all and the fact that youre still saying that i am is the wolfiest thing about your slot. secondly, im obviously not a wolf with wilgy because i gunned for him harder than anyone on d1 and actively tried to pull votes from him. i can only be a wolf with wilgy if you think that i decided to hardbus every single one of my partners with no regard for the endgame whatsoever

anyone that calls me a potential wolf is unironically likely trying to keep the POE open, but that could just be my town entitlement speaking
I'm 90% sure that the wolves are between nutella/Esooa/Dyslexicon and if there's a wolf outside of that it's you or Wilgy. Everyone else just has too many reasons to be townread at this point.
you're clearing anne because she was the counterwagon to wolves two days in a row, right? i asked the same question last night, but if anne was the designated mischop on d2, then who are the wolves that pushed on her? mac did NOT push on anne on d2 at all and specifically tried to pull votes onto NAA

if you believe that anne is clear, then it logically means that a wolf tried to push her on d2, so who do you think that it was? im genuinely asking because im curious about how anne being "clear" is informing the rest of your worldview. you can argue that nutella is the wolf that pushed on anne but i still think that she's town
nutella and Dyslexicon are both options, and MacDougall did go after anne even if he didn't end up on her at EoD
i dont think mac went after anne at any point in his ISO, and he put her in the "null" tier, but you can correct me if im wrong

dyslexicon is a possible option, i guess

Re: Philosophy Mafia 2: Electric Boogaloo

also this is totally unrelated to the game, but i started watching "fleabag", partially because of how much hype i heard for it in fleabag mafia, and it is EXCELLENT and incredibly creative. would highly recommend!

Re: Philosophy Mafia 2: Electric Boogaloo

iaafr if you get a chance, do you mind quoting the posts btwn dizzy/esooa that you think are not W/W? it would be useful if i could rule them out as non-partnered

Re: Philosophy Mafia 2: Electric Boogaloo

i think dizzy's posts have been incredibly sincere at many points throughout this game, but im not sure if that's a good reason for me to townread him. his overall content is lacking and his voting patterns yesterday (to my memory) were pretty rough

if anne was the designed scum mischop but mac did not push on anne, then who are the wolves that pushed on anne?

im not even calling anne a wolf - just trying to work out if the logic of: "anne was a counterwagon to the wolves, so she's clear" holds up to some logical scrutiny
ehh i might be overstating the "tried to rally votes on NAA" thing - mac only really tried to convince nutella to vote for NAA and he called NAA a wolf a few times toward the EOD as well

it's just, if we think that the pressure on anne throughout this game has been coming from a wolf-motivated place, then who are the wolves that pushed on her, especially yesterday? because mac wasn't one of them

Re: Philosophy Mafia 2: Electric Boogaloo

yeah, the wolves were probably banking on a NAA mischop regardless of who they are
