1984 Mafia [SIGNUPS]

You live in Oceania, the greatest nation in the world. It is your great honor to be a member of the Thought Police, keeping the country clean of wrongthink. However, you're beginning to suspect that one of your fellow comrades is a filthy traitor. If you're right, you must root them out and expose them. But if you're wrong, the Thought Police will collapse from infighting. It's up to you to figure out if a traitor exists, and if so, to flush them out.

Game Rules
- The deadline will be 48 hours for a day phase and 24 hours for a night phase. The thread will be fully open for discussion at night, but obviously you can't vote for people during that phase. Deadlines will always end at exactly 8PM EST. Since all phases are in multiples of 24 hours, that means that 8PM EST is the only time you need to remember. That is when voting closes, when day starts, and your deadline to submit your night actions.

- Majority execution is not enabled, not because I don't believe in it (I would implement it if I could) but because it's not convenient to do so with a dynamic poll and requires people to screenshot the hammer and be honest about it. It's easier for everyone to just stick with plurality, so let's go with that.

- Standard Syndicate rules apply, with the following exceptions.
a) Unlike some Syndicate games, excessive AtE is not allowed. I tried allowing it in LGBT mafia and it turned into a circus. So no. Contact me or the MoD if
you're not sure if something counts as excessive. General rule of thumb, as NANOOK likes to use in his games: if you're talking about how the game is making
your life worse IRL or causing you significant emotional distress, it's excessive. I will probably be moderating this game fairly strictly for toxicity because my
first game was ruined by it and I don't want my second hosted game to fall to pieces because of the same thing. Also it's bad play.

b) Speculating about replacements is allowed. If you want to angleshoot people scum for replacing out, do so at your own risk. If someone gets modkilled for
some reason (which I sincerely hope won't happen) and you want to speculate about that, do so at your own risk. This is the only form of "angleshooting" that
is permitted. Screenshotting your role PM, using ciphers and all the usual banned stuff is still banned.

Setup
There is a 50% chance for the game to either be a Traitor or Traitorless setup. The Traitor setup is 11 Thought Police. The Traitorless setup is 10 Thought Police and 1 Traitor. Additionally, I will recruit a spectator not playing the game to make night actions (nightkills, etc.) if it is a Traitorless setup. This spectator will read the game thread and do their best to act as if they were the Traitor. If it is a Traitor setup, the spectator won't do anything - the real Traitor will make the decisions. Voting Sleep (ie. voting not to execute anyone) is not permitted until D3, due to a special mechanic (see below).

On D3, the option to vote Sleep is unlocked. If Sleep is voted on D3, and the setup is Traitorless, everyone wins. If Sleep is voted on D3, and the setup has a Traitor, the Thought Police lose and the Traitor wins. If a player is voted on D3, and the setup is Traitorless, everyone loses. If a player is voted on D3, and the setup has a Traitor, the game will continue for one more day. If the Traitor is executed by then, the Thought Police win; if the Traitor survives past D4, the Traitor wins.

In other words, if there is no Traitor the Thought Police (town) have to figure that out and vote Sleep or they will all lose. If there is a Traitor then the Thought Police have to catch them. The Traitor, if there is one, has to either convince the Thought Police to vote Sleep or survive past D4.

There are no other special mechanics or power roles. Vote ties are decided by the Traitor, or the spectator acting as them if there isn't one.
