Re: Pandas vs Trash Pandas [Day 7]

Looking at the start of day 2 now, Spacedaisy's push on me looks a lot like falcon's push on me at the start of day 4.

I feel like I became wolf's punching bag this game because I remember Guillo pushing me for bad reasons and throwing "creature has towny and wolfy posts" hedgey bullshit and falcon with his non-case comprised entirely of cowboy lines on me. Wouldn't surprise me if Spacedaisy's push on me was preplanned on wolfchat.

Hi @Spacedaisy nice to finally get a game with you. Welcome to The Syndicate, Nanook has a gun... He went out onto his front porch and shouted NRA... And they delivered a gun within 10 minutes.
Nice to play with you. I appreciate the welcome, but perhaps I should to introduce myself, I'm one of the two founders of The Syndicate. :daisy:

Also, shooting me would be a mistake as I'm not a trash panda.

I thought I was reading Creature civ, but the sudden turn and claim to be suspicious of mech talk hiding trash pandas has me :suspish: considering they wee in the thick of it. I'd put my vote there.

You know what gets me about you? You went one about mechanics. Then you turned around and said you thought talking mechanics was a way mafia was hiding (after nearly 2/3 of your posts were about mechanics). And now you are saying you want to lynch someone who wasn't all about mechanics. You are shady as hell my friend.

P.S. Not being mechanics minded and not being math minded are two different things. I was engaged in the mechanics conversation. I deferred in the end to someone who is math minded.
Is this progression natural?

Re: Pandas vs Trash Pandas [Day 7]

I think day 4 was my best day this game because I immediately caught two wolves even though I went in doubt at the end of day 4. Day 5 was really lame because everybody wanted falcon. Day 6 was even lamer because no one really tried to figure out the last wolf.

Perhaps days 1, 2 and 3 are important to check because wolves couldn't be sure who was endgaming here. I think day 2 onwards the wolves were trying to powerwolf into endgaming together.

I've been mostly trying to show I'm town lately. I think bussing Guillo and falcon wasn't needed here if I was wolf and I felt I also had a genuine reaction to Marmot and NAA dying because I was too busy protecting you and nobody else bothered to protect them.
Does anyone still doubt I'm town?
In fact, I really disliked the fact you acted so indignant in the last 24 hours about the fact no one protected Marmot and NAA. They weren't confirmed town or anything, there is no reason I should have known they were going to be targeted that night. It feel like fake indignation to me frankly.
I don't think I would've needed to push it that far. Also, my mood at the start of day 3 really matches with someone who just saw their top two townreads die and I wished they were protected.

scum have missed 3 kills in a row, i'm cleared based on that fact alone lmao
tbh I think wolves were deliberately targetting NANOOK the last three nights considering we'd eventually run out of saves.
The first time we saw a no-kill was on night four. Everyone had at least one shot left so unless scum are really mechanically bad (i.e. Spacedaisy) I don't think they'd have shot at nanook n4.
The chances that shooting nanook would be a hit on n5 were vanishingly low as well.

The main vulnerability of the plan I made is that it leaves the giant pandas unprotected most of the time, especially on later nights where the odds of rolling a protect on nanook are very high. Your argument that I'm mafia exploiting knowledge of the setup makes no sense when it's clear that scum aren't playing optimally.
Two giant pandas dying N4 would've helped us a lot because then we'd start with 4 suspects instead of 6 suspects D5. Seems pretty clear to me the last wolf is avoiding giving narrowing down the POE by killing giant pandas, especially when we can't even settle on a single strong townread.

There should also have a mechanism solution that allows town to attempt to save other players besides the Red Panda. Like, the Marmot and NotAnAxehole kills were pretty predictable and someone could've saved them. I guess I might leave this discussion for postgame because I'm not sure how beneficial it is to talk about it right now.

Spacedaisy wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 10:24 pm The big things that do stick out in my head is the fact that Day Creature had 29 posts, of which 19 were mech discussion posts. Then at the end of the day he bemoaned that today was such a bust because all people talked about was mech and the wolves can hide in mech talk. Despite the fact that he was one of the driving forces of that conversation.
I agree I was part of it. I said wolves would most likely make mech talks because it's way easier than faking solving and I don't think that contradicts with myself being part of it. I was mostly pointing out that, despite me being part of it, wolves could very well be talking about mechanics.
I also recall feeling like when NAA and Marmot were took out, it was likely an opportunity for the wolves to try and come in and control conversation. I waited because I wanted to see who seemed to come charging in. The two who came in were Creature and DDL. Creature also came in with wall posts reads. I didn't care for the look, but not something by itself that was bad.
When I saw NAA and Marmot killed, I was first frustrated because they were such obvious favorite targets and they were killed right under eight doctor noses. I was surprised no one bothered to protect them. Also, the day starting at 7 v 3 with only one mislynch being available increased my sense of urgency to do the solving and get the game home before it was too late. You say wolves were going to take that opportunity to control thread conversation but a town can very well decide to step up after their two top townreads and most trustable players just dropped dead this cleanly.
I cannot fathom why anyone would have thought Dizzy bad. There is no world in which a wolf makes the post he did. It makes literally no sense to believe that he was wolf. Yet Creature and DDL were on him. It was beyond me, and the only reason I can see that someone would do it is because they would want to keep as many question marks out there as possible.
I was initially pushing Dyslexicon because their posts felt mostly empty, devoid of reads and I thought they were raising their postcount to look like they were doing something. I later changed my read on Dyslexicon when they came in and started making towny posts and showing no real care for how their posts looked like.
I was assigned to protect NANOOK N2 and hence why I was frustrated nobody who rolled no save bothered saving Marmot or NAA.

I don’t think it’s Creature, but I don’t know. I got back a couple hours ago and I have a headache again so I’m feeding my cats and going to bed.

I think it’s probably between Urist and DDL imo.

Falcon and Guillotine both came at me at different times. They have both voted for me. Take that as you will, also I was coming for Falcon when Guillo talked me off of him.

My interaction with Guillo was pocketed town talking to a wolf who had her fooled.

That’s all I’ve got tonight. I won’t have much time tomorrow either as I’ve got to work all day to pay the bills again. Travel took up two whole days I could have been working. I’ll be back tomorrow, but don’t expect ISOs because I don’t have the time for it.

Spacedaisy's defense of Guillotine still strikes me as misinformed town. I don't really know Spacedaisy's wolf range though.

Marmot was townreading Guillo and townleaning falcon. Even if Marmot had one wolf in their POE, that'd still make them a bad target for a nightkill if wolves were looking to take out someone on them. I believe Marmot was killed mostly for being a vocal player and also widely townread rather than for their reads.

NotAnAxehole could perhaps have been killed for their reads and hence I could see that pointing towards Spacedaisy being wolf here. Still, just like Marmot, NotAnAxehole was also a vocal and widely townread player that wolves would want to get rid of.

If you apply the logic of "wolves were killing players with better reads", then there's fingersplints wolfreading DDL and there's Dyslexicon townreading both DDL and me. So which it is?

Re: Pandas vs Trash Pandas [Day 6]

I believe if one side sounds more natural and the other side sounds pretty forced, it's most likely a sign it's a v/w. Like, falcon's push on me at the start of day 4 was very forced, but it wouldn't necessarily be a bus, especially considering I was a lot more natural with my responses.

Guillotine still gives me the air he was mostly going with the waves and saving up some cases to be used if the moment was good, like his cases on hollowkatt and Dyslexicon. If you apply the logic that Guillo had me as their wolfread but barely pushed me until day 4, you will also have to apply that to Urist, who was pushing Guillotine for longer yet was mostly dismissed by Guillo.

Re: Pandas vs Trash Pandas [Day 6]

I don't really know what was Guillo doing with me and whether he was planning to mislynch me later or make me look bad after he flipped.

My progression on Guillotine is roughly like this: I initially townread him for his backlash against NANOOK D1, then him pushing Michelle EOD1 (though I still considered him a good wolf player and hence why I said it could be a bus) and then most out of fear of his backlash if I pushed him. Somewhere D3, Guillotine pushed hollowkatt and made a case on Dyslexicon, both turned to be town. So I started reconsidering Guillotine and saw he was staying under the radar and mostly only pushed town after D1. Among the list of seven pandas, his name struck my attention the most.

Meh. I'm coming at this right now:

[VOTE: Spacedaisy] aubergine

Unless someone thinks DDL faked that interaction with falcon and Dyslexicon is wrong about their godread or Urist decided to hardbus Guillotine.

I dunno how to clear myself other than pointing out I must have suddenly decided to bus my two wolf partners in LyLo and my partners decided to bus me when we could have easily coordinated into persuading NANOOK to kill town (especially DrWilgy or Urist). Sadly I don't have any recent completed wolf game to be used as a reference so you'll have to trust me.

Also, what was the awful interaction I had with Guillo? I remember coming into terms they must be wolf at the start of day 4 because of their reads suddenly being mostly on town after the Michelle flip and then just staying there untouched.

I wonder if NAA was killed for having two wolves on his list. Of course that also applies to me, but it's still interesting to note.

Re: Pandas vs Trash Pandas [Day 6]

I'm still unsure because I still can see any of DDL/Space/Urist being wolf here.

Space looks the most obvious because I think Space could have been the one who decided to kill fingersplints here. Space harddefended Guillo, initially tried to dissuade the shot onto DDL or me and only started wolfreading falcon later. falcon also had her name on his lists but I don't remember any significant push here.

DDL has the support of Dyslexicon's godread in his favor. I'm still completely unsure what's his range and that's what bothers me. Also there were plenty of weird interactions with wolves (fakeclaim meta, early game chatting, townreading Guillo, etc) that would probably have needed some effort to fake if he is wolf with them.

Urist, to be wolf, would have needed to bus Guillo despite the latter already bussing Michelle D1. Like DDL, I'm also not sure if his range involves all this distancing.

I'm hoping I get to clear myself so I only have to find one town among DDL/Space/Urist.

Weirdly, after all the ISOing, I'm getting back at thinking Space is the last wolf.

Dragon D. Luffy wrote: Sun Feb 20, 2022 9:31 pm Question, now that only one mafia is left so they are restricted to one kill, are we supposed to use the even night or the odd night table?

Though granted I'm considering just ignoring the table at this point and doing my thing since the game is much easier to calculate.
We should probably be using the odd night table. Still, if we miss today, tonight is probably going to be the last night of the game and I wouldn't want to count on a 50/50 if we miss tomorrow again.

Or we are getting incredibly lucky.
I think they picked up the strategy.

We should have two shots to get the last wolf within four possible candidates. I wouldn't count on a third shot.

afaik everybody else was also on falcon yesterday.

Re: Pandas vs Trash Pandas [Day 6]

I'm probably not ISOing Guillotine because I suppose they must be able to fake their interactions fairly well with their partners. Also I ignored day 5 because falcon was pretty much destined to die D5.

Not sure how hardcore your truth meta is in this case tbh, like theres no work to fake claim the only available town role. But some players have truth metas that are like a religion and they'd rather self-modkill than break them.

Sketchy truth metas aside I feel nothing.

I don't like it much when I feel nothing about a player.

Talk to me about Daisy plz

What do you mean by a more balanced act re: Urist?
Most important interactions I saw from Falcon with flipped players. I saw a lot of interacting with DDL earlier which makes me feel good about DDL because falcon barely interacted with Guillotine, who was a somewhat deep wolf. falcon also started interacting a lot with me at the start of day 4 (I already pulled the quotes).

I haven't put them here, but I see Spacedaisy being mentioned quite often within their POE, but also I don't remember there being a significant push here, which is a somewhat bad look for Spacedaisy. I don't remember any significant interaction with Urist.

Re: Pandas vs Trash Pandas [Day 6]

I think the falcon fakeclaim thing is the most important thing to note from DDL though.

Other than the interactions, reading DDL's posts somewhat gave me the vibes of town normalcy? Like that of town complaining about the misplays within the setup and the solving while going nowhere because things are confusing.
