Jailkeeper would have protected him regardless.

My point is if the mafia tried to kill Jay N1, why did they not try to kill him on the following 4 nights?

Because they didn’t try to kill him N1 either.
Yeah, when he didn't die night 2, I guess part of me wondered if mafia was afraid that the kill wouldn't go through again or JJJ wasn't looking in the right spot. But sometimes it takes an experience like this to really bring it home that jay should not be alive on those later days.

Also, I plan on starting a sopranos game soon on The Millennium Forums. No exact date yet. If any of you would be interested in that.
Feel free to link us there. We've also got a thread for off-site games here, if you feel like advertising to everyone on the Syndicate. We only bite a little bit.

I may check it out, but I'm not sure I can sign up for this game right now. A) Because I'm not sure I can fit another game into my schedule at the moment, and B) because The Sopranos is near the very top of my Shows I Should Watch list and I don't want to risk exposing myself to spoilers before I get to it. :p
I'll have a large game coming up on PerC in a month or so. So I guess I'll advertise there when the time comes. I'm so glad I don't have to play mafia another day; I didn't have a plan going into today.

And feelsbadman, I'm always like the last mislynch before town loses the game.

I have mixed feelings. On balance, I don't like the setup. Randomizing alignments to this set of roles means that the game can be super skewed in either direction depending upon the dice.

In our case, I think the mafia team had one significant disadvantage: we couldn't kill anyone we wanted to kill until Night 5. Two jailers, two doctors, one JOAT, two trackers, and two watchers -- holy hell we had to tip toe around every damned thing to get anything done.

Locked nights were a huge advantage for us though. Just imagine if DDL had been able to rip us a new asshole on Night 5 before we killed him. That made a big difference in this game.
So Lux did block the kill then I assume? :p *hasn't looked at mafia QT yet*

People need to learn there is a difference between physical and emotional effort.

ISOs and all the other busywork you did take a lot of physical effort. That's why I said I commended you for it regardlessly of your alignment. But what separates the civs from the baddies is the emotional effort. Actually lying and convincing people you are hunting with a straight face. I didn't feel like you were actually connected with the game like I did in the 10 times I played with civ you.

Welp, 2 out of 3 games I was right about lynching Jay. Not perfect but I guess I'm onto something.

I think before I claimed there was some posts where Jay was kind of shading me that didn't feel the greatest, or were more "pushy?" than reading posts, but I'm not to to sure about that. I think I'm better off in some ways when I'm not confirmed.

Sorry speedy..

Nutella's comment about it would be alright to vote for rdw I kind of read as nutella thinks or knows rdw is town. My head just didn't process this quick enough to call them scum.

And rdw voting on DDL, I figured kind of had to not be scum, as the scum qt would have made rdw put their vote elsewhere.

You telling me that you could see some scum hunting from me was very heart warming, but I was truly afraid of the pocket.

And I think part of me also thought someone bussed Ultra. But somewhere I got into my head that Jay doesn't bus; I'm glad that next time I won't be holding back on that.

I guess thinking about the anti-trust fall that I did. I didn't have anything super strong on Mac, so I guess I might have a tell for him now. But I fell for the town DDL claim, as Soneji had previously said or supported that this was a town DDL.

Speedy's "if I die lynch jay tomorrow does pull at some heartstrings"

To add to Jack's above thoughts, DDL could have just voted as a disapproval and then moved on. A vote can be just as throwaway as the original line. But he's panicking, doubling down then retreating, trying to sound justified, etc.

I don't feel like I'm the authority on this, as I'm the one who baited the trap and might be biased, and DDL was the first to respond, but he definitely looks worst at first glance.
What do you think of admission of messing up? That doesn't looking someone trying to sound justified.
True. The quoted post is pretty decent. DDL's going for a hard reset there, not trying to sound justified anymore.

That's the problem. I DID set a trap. Traps can catch town too, and DDL often looks scummy as town.
He brings up the trap thing again. He's not afraid to mention it, so are these "traps" fairly common in his playstyle? But he also acknowledges he can be wrong.

I guess this is another declaration of meta or potentially townie behavior, even if from his eyes DDL doesn't deserve it, as he does look scummy to speedy.

It's kind of a joke, but then he still follows it up with an actual vote for it. It's like he kind of does want it to happen, but also kind of doubts it being possible.

I see. This kind of just sits there or fills space. But it was kind of weird thinking back on it.

On one hand, yes we will always lose a power role, but truly knowing if our reads are in the right the direction is invaluable information.

An interaction with speedy and Dragomir, it seems casual and neutral enough. They aren't going at each other or shading or anything. It just seems like peaceful conversation between the two of them.

Why concern then
Cuz he has nothing to base his read on.
The way you talked before made it sound like you’d done something??? Does that mean no matter your alignment you dont post well??
I mean, regardless of alignment I shit post. That is my modus operandi. Such that JJJ can't possibly have a town read on me yet, given I would do this regardless of what I am.
Potentially townie skepticism like me being skeptical of Epi's town read on me. (also him reading DDL correctly (mac's check)), I guess that's why Epi died :(

Then he names three people and says he doesn't care who is lynched as long as it's one of the three. Then he ignores Owner's ability post and keeps tunneling on her. It's a lot of "don't cares", and very little sign that he is actually trying to look at multiple people and solve the game. He pick a few lucky ones to tunnel and is trying to skate by the game on those tunnels. It doesn't feel town at all.

This one looks like Mafia pointing at two towns talking about a town they're wrong about imo. What goal does rdscum have as Dragoteammate here? The distance cred would be so unlikely to be acquired.

I don't like it for RDW in it's own right.

But yeah, it's not a super natural type read; it's like Dragomir is trying to hard to push something that isn't very natural or genuine feeling.
I do feel that Dragomir has been fiercer in his convictions than would make sense for a civilian mindset, particularly now at this stage of the game. I recall the MU folks recently referring to this as a "gotcha moment" -- when a player jumps all over a case with a degree of confidence that may not suit the circumstances (and as such it's a tell). Dragomir's entire post history is a continuous gotcha.

How willing are you to attribute that sort of mentality to personality instead of to alignment?
It's almost the exact inverse of where we were with Gemma, who couldn't bring herself to make concrete reads at all in many cases.

Are you saying he's more "pushy" than his potential town self or he's doing something else?

]I do see this with a lot of scum. But town can also get pretty passionate at times.

It's a lot harder to do when I don't know them personally or haven't x number of games with them to distinguish personality from their actual tells or playstyle.

And I'm not sure, I'm fully getting your point here.

Is your theory of Dragomir and speedchuck being teamed specifically inspired by the claim, or does that strengthen some hunch you already had?
Dragomir's reasons for voting me today just feel like all kinds of wrong or the progression on me feels like an agenda to mislynch me.

Speedy's claim today is now an association read to Dragomir's flip. The way speedy's claim brings up or talks about Dragomir, pinged me. I had no direct connections with them before today.

I remember skimming something about Mac or DDL claiming something. But I couldn't find the exact post/wording whenever it occurred. I guess if not DDL maybe Dr. Wilgy; it just felt odd for him to ask who I targeted day 1 when there wasn't a guarantee that I had an ability to do so on day 1. It feels like tmi.
