I think this is real evaluation and a real thought from a town player who is really struggling with his read on Creature and the opposing threadstate.

I want to townread Dennis pretty badly. Dennis has a cute avatar and Dennis is a kid (teen? early twenties? whatever) who doesn't have a whole bunch of mafia experience. He does look kinda townie shiny.

There are a few posts (I can go back and get them if there's demand for that content and will likely have to for my own read if we're both alive later in the game) that Dennis has made wherein he has reads that seem a bit too easy or ill considered that ping me as potential wolf lies. It's really easy to excuse those as newbie/youngin indicative, not scum indicative. My main reason for even thinking of them is that there are 5 wolves, here, and if my other reads or correct, I have 2 wolves (Roxy, Creature), 5 townies (SPF, Mac, Tutuu, Falcon, Lucy) with a larger pile of players closer to null (Sig, Rondo, Seanzie, Porscha, Sabi, Bereft, Wilgy) and idk are there 3 wolves in that pile? People are saying Bereft is good. I kinda townread Seanzie. I did townread Sig. Alison was pretty damn sure Sabi's slot is town. Rondo's replies last night were actually kinda good. Like....I might need another wolf and Dennis is a possibility.

Still, I overall have a townlean on Dennis. Sometimes, I want to townread a player because I like them on a personal level or it would mean the game was way easier. I think I want to believe Dennis is a townie because Dennis is a townie, if that makes sense.

Contrast Tutuu saying I could have tmi on wolf Alison and be bussing or that I may just have to be mafia if player x, y (,z?) are town just by the numbers or SPF saying that I treated Alison too confidently for a player who should know Alison's towngame better than that.

Those statements are all incorrect in conclusion because I am in fact town but they don't read as wolfy because they are understandable thought processes from a townie perspective.

Creature's read on me isn't understandable. It reads made up and in stark contrast from legit scumreads in this game and legit scumreads from Creature in previous games.

This is pretty well nonsense. I was the first player after Alison or else people were after Alison in the posts I didn't even read. Neon later came up with a basically identical case to mine on Alison, that her game here was an exact mirror of her wolf game in King of the Hill. Alison was town. You can say that town Jack should know better, that town Jack shouldn't be so confident on an incorrect read. But you can't say that I was being opportunistic because I personally created the opportunity. Like, that accusation is just flat false. That didn't happen.

Same goes for the opportunism you're saying I have wrt my scumread on you. I have not voted for you all game. I have quoted multiple of your posts and explained that I think they are scummy and why. I have quoted other posts of yours and said I didn't know how I felt about them. I have quoted cases other players have made on you and said I thought they were good. I started off saying I'd be looking into SPF for (seemingly, she had cased you earlier) naked voting for you and I said that I don't ever want you yeeted on D1 because I think you're overall pretty easy to find as town. So how is that me being opportunistic when I'm saying that I won't vote for you D1 even when I think there's a decent case on you and that I won't vote you D3 even though you're my biggest scumread if Tutuu and SPF want me to vote Roxy instead? That's the opposite of opportunism. If anything, other players should suspect that I'm your partner because the amount I'm willing to yeet you doesn't match the amount I suspect you, a classic scumtell for the general pop of mafia players.

It’s honestly not worth considering if I’m a wolf at all because even if I was, you’re not yeeting me before [your suspects here] so it doesn’t honestly matter.

So like I’m massively pinged by Creature. SPF and Mac have made meta cases against Creature. I want to yeet Creature. The closest thing I have to a reason not to do this is recently being wrong on Alison and a probably illogical worry that I’m going to receive more pressure and have less thread pull with a t!Creature yeet than a t!Roxy yeet. This does not override my scumread but it is in my brain.

Alison said to yeet Roxy. Roxy has done fuck all. Roxy has scum equity w/Creature. I want to yeet Roxy but given I haven’t read any Roxy posts that I didn’t specifically go looking for in her iso and given her very short iso, I don’t feel as confident there as I feel on Creature.

Do you think that if that is the team, Alison is the one they would be bussing? I find it unlikely but I’m not really in touch with the meta of the players involved.

From roxy, dennis, finger, neon - i understand and justify it, its the emotional turbulation having an impact, so i dont think its w/w there

If Creature is a wolf, especially with Roxy, why shoot Neon? Even if Creature and/or Roxy were town, why shoot Neon?

I better see Neon do some obviously town thing because it's really bugging me that I'm the only one who cares about this angle.

Do you think that if that is the team, Alison is the one they would be bussing? I find it unlikely but I’m not really in touch with the meta of the players involved.

I cant tell you that far/deep, this was just my solution when i thought to solve the problem "whats the reason behind the pressure on alison that i cant understand/justify (coming from jack and sig maybe seanzie, rondo, forgot who else)"

From roxy, dennis, finger, neon - i understand and justify it, its the emotional turbulation having an impact, so i dont think its w/w there

It's not a bus, they are just outing to kill me. It's why none of my voters can give a coherent reason why I am mafia and it's why I feel great about the game because the mafia team has overextended way too much and it's hard to imagine the game ending well for them unless you guys totally throw after my flip (in which case it's on you).

If Alison is right, here, she has to literally only be talking about Sig, which is ???

it means scummy, and it also means that if we live in a world where she's town (which i do perceive as being more likely right now than not) at least one of the people who wagoned her is a wolf trying to push on her opportunistically

and jack, i actually perceived your read on alison as being the most sincere out of everyone who has pushed on her so far, since you were more or less the "ringleader" for building momentum against her and i perceive you as being the main person who is projecting a lot of confidence about her being mafia

but your confidence is starting to bother me the more that i think about it. it's possible that you're right about alison but frankly i think your reasoning for pushing on alison is pretty bad. i don't think the things that you are pushing alison for (ie: "she is treating people in bad faith") are alignment indicative for alison, and i do expect you to understand that these things aren't alignment indicative as someone who has presumably played a lot of games with alison

so, while i think it's possible that your read onalison could be correct, your confidence about alison being mafia doesn't feel even slightly proportional to the actual casework you have done against her, and my memory of the other towngames i saw from you is that you were much more considerate and you had a much broader perspective than the one you are projecting here

so uhhh, i think what im going to need from you for me to not want to vote you today is for you to just talk to me very broadly about your reads that AREN'T alison. if alison was no longer on the table today, who would you want to eliminate? if we briefly assume for a moment that alison is town, what would ur view of the game look like?

So...I didn't get a chance to respond this because the day was cut short and I'm doing so now out of politeness/teamwork, even though its less relevant and I don't have great answers.

Honestly, Alison was my far and away strongest scumread. I didn't have much in the way of others. Just vague gut suspicion of Wilgy and iirc, some suspicion of Creature that was mostly sheeped from you or Mac (though that might have come after the post I'm quoting). Sometimes, it's just like that. I tend to collect some townreads and get pinged by one player and latch on like a bulldog until I bring my scumread down or they change my scumread on them. Sometimes, I have multiple scumreads but often, D1-D3 or pre flips, I just don't and in this case, I just didn't. I know that's not super helpful wrt finding additional wolves or getting town to townread me but it's just the reality of things.

FTR, Creature almost immediately moves back to Roxy after Alison poopoos the idea of yeeting me over Roxy and Baudib says he disagrees but will follow Alison.

I don't really know if this does much for my "Creature w/w with Roxy" read but it feels relevant.

This is my feeling so far. In all my catchups, I haven't seen any actual posts from Roxy. Makes me a bit antsy but I'm trusting my townreads on it. Plus, I don't have any reason to townread her and my next biggest scumread is Creature and well, see number 3.
