I better not point out the inconsistency of the fact that my partner was pushing me with a lame vote instead of joining me on the other 5 wagons I was pushing that would have brought Sig into a tie with anyone else and give him a chance to rand clear when they tried their best to save Sig. Still doing this shit, I see. You don't have a post restriction, there is no pro-town reason for you to act this way. Why do you think I'd put myself through an annoying post restriction?
Its good distancing to get in a fight with a partner so I will point out the fact that they have ignored the main point of my post and that you dont need to say anything to vote to make a wagon greater or equal to sig instead of lamely posting inarticulate songs and then saying you are IC for it.
I was perfectly fine with lynching you (and still am if we're being honest) and the votes were so split that it was hard to tell where the wagons would go after I went to bed, plus I wasn't a fan of most of the wagons anyway. At least I didn't make a big show of having supposedly always opposed the sig wagon despite voting for it. I did what I could to push your wagon, you try communicating when all you can talk about is Jesus's birth and beating up a mall Santa.

For probably obvious reasons if you followed Ted Lasso, I would never clear someone for being bamboozified.
In this case, I think i town read you with the takes you were making. I think
Who would willingly put themselves through such crap though?
Did…did you read Ted Lasso at all?

I insanified myself for shits and as soon as I started doing it I immediately regretted it due to the painstaking editing I had to do in each post. And I didn’t just want to post a few times and dip. I had to be believable.

In any case, you were most definitely stuck singing as per the host post, so an ability was most definitely used on you.

And I jived with you on reads. So
Believe me, I am not that kind of player. I got silenced by scum in one game and they used that as an opportunity to get me mislynched. I'm a vocal player and would never put myself through that shit willingly, it is beyond obnoxious and you'll only know it if you've been through it. Wolves obviously did it to shut me up. Perhaps they were worried about one of my reads?
what were your n0 reads
Mac, tutuu, Porscha town, DM, Abby, RDB wolf

Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

If falcon was really killed due to his reads, it would have to be because they were closer than anyone else's. It may be useful to see where falcon's reads differed from people who otherwise had similar reads. Still, I'd probably have to reread the game for that.

Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Let's look into the standard reasons why townies are nightkilled and see if any of them explain falcon's death:

He was just too towny: Probably not. I mean, nobody seems to have strongly suspected him, but that's largely because nobody was really talking about him in the first place. I don't think wolves reach this conclusion without even trying to pressure him.
He was too vocal/had high WIM: LOL.
His reads were good: Certainly a possibility, we've already gone over who that would indict.
Wolves wanted to throw town off: Also a possibility, as falcon had strong suspicions yet didn't really elaborate on them, which could allow the wolves to construct their own narrative here.
Wolves thought they saw a softclaim: I mean, I saw nothing, but it wouldn't be the first time that wolves saw a softclaim that didn't exist.
Wolves were worried about falcon based on him knowing the wolves well/his performance in previous games: Someone else would probably be a better judge over whether this is a possibility than me.

Another question is, if the falcon kill was unexpected than who would be the expected kill? Besides Mac getting Manti'd, I don't think anyone else has been suggested as a possibility, so a falcon kill at the end of the day might not be that much weirder than some of the other options

Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

MacDougall wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 10:35 pm Let's say the relatively consensus poe here is something like pyxxy/abigail/scotty. I personally don't have Scotty as mafia but let's say we arrive at a position where he's the third most sussed slot for arguments sake (which he might be).

If we as a town are content to say it's unlikely that there are 0 mafia in this group, which I am due to how many townreads I have outside of it.

We limit the amount of dialogue speculating outside of it and focus our energy on figuring out who to chop from within it, we serve a few purposes.

1. The town miselim is given enough opportunity to project themselves to avoid a shrug chop.
2. The Mafia are forced to pick a side in a way that can result in them bussing, or outing themselves choosing not to bus.
3. The town outside of it reveal themselves via solid teamwork and progressing the game state along a town agenda.
4. The Mafia get boxed out.
5. It prevents a lot of town on town posturing/ego warfare.

I try to force this paradigm in every town game I play and it's why my town winrate over the past couple of years is not just high but so so many of the wins are rapid.

In the games in which I am proven to have 0 wolves in the POE I end up operating within, mafia usually make the mistake of keeping me alive and I'm capable of being able to reevaluate eventually once it's discovered that the d1 poe was pure.

The caveat is the town wintate and the "rapidness" directly correlates with how hard the town try as a group and how committed they are to simply being townie. The more bad townplay. Low efforting. Tinfoiling. Open wolfing as town, that town exhibit, the longer the wolves survive and closer to parity they end up.

So it's important for poe clamped town to keep their neck above the water and keep trying to be town. It's also important that the day 1 poe gets resolved quickly so town PR play is very important ie. vigs need to shoot d1 cws and investigatives need to get green checks on possible miselims etc.

When towns come together in this manner town generally just absolutely steamrolls almost any mafia team except pure "we lost the game at rand" level mafia teams.
Where the hell did you get that this was "consensus" PoE, and why the hell did you vote outside that?

Far-fetched?

Do you mind actually explaining your reasons for voting me? I'm not a fan of how you seem to be picking at things in a very detached way.

Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Actually, that's the kind of shit you policy, because you either have a wolf or a townie with an incredibly dissruptive ability. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a fan of policies ("vote to be right", I always say) but silencers and similar roles are disruptive enough to make an exception. Besides, Abby has not exactly given me any signals that she's town.

Assuming she's not joking? That is a very scumsided ability. Is it compulsive or something, because otherwise there is no reason for town to do it. Then again, this is Abby we're talking about

Given that, it's almost certainly a wolf power and I should be basically lock town for having been targeted by this. (As an aside, this was one of the things that weirded me out about RDB — they said nobody should read anything alignment indicative about my posting, when the very fact that I was targeted by said power should be alignment indicative.) Now it's time to determine who used this power, and it's probably someone who has experience with me being a vocal town leader and wanted to shut me up before that could happen (or maybe it's Abby who did it just to piss me off).

So this was either a one-use power of the wolves, something they can do again, or they can give townies other post restrictions. Regardless, it might be wise to come up with a cypher so that if someone gets targeted by this again they can communicate more effectively. I tried my best, but there were obvious limits.

He had like three votes on him with no other viable wagons. Also, why "pressure" someone unlikely to show? Pressuring only works on people who are actually, you know, playing the game. It seems like a way to dodge responsibility with "see, I totally knew this was a bad idea, pay no attention to the fact I never brought this up before!"
And how was I supposed to know he was unlikely to show?
I don't know, maybe the fact that he hadn't posted in over 24 hours?
That was not the case when I voted him, nor does someone not posting in 24 hours make it obvious he's not going to show up past that point.

Are you accusing me of being mafia with this or what?
You left it parked for much longer than that. It is wolfy because it seems like a way to distance yourself from an unpopular lynch after you didn't do anything to prevent that from happening.

Anyway, the sig lynch was not a good idea, as you usually don't want to go after someone who can't respond D1, you want to be able to pressure people and push the person with the largest wagon to claim. I tried my best, but there was little that I could do with the post restriction.
