Ascetic without any abilities is typically a wolf role. Town ascetics typically have secondary abilities, as the point is usually that they can't e.g. be protected by a Doctor. It typically depends on what other roles are in the setup though.

Which is to say that the silencer and post curse are different roles and the silencer is the mafia one.

Possible, but it seems simpler to assume that they're both the same role. However, this will probably self-resolve depending on which powers get used tonight. (Still, if you have either of these powers and are town, it would be best for everyone if you don't use them!)

One thing I don't really believe about Abby's claim is would there really be a post restrictor and silencer in the dame game? That would effectively allow two town voices to be silenced, which would fuck up parity really bad; it would only remotely make sense in the case that we have only two wolves.

Might as well claim my full ability, because I can't guarantee that I won't be mislynched D3 and I can't guarantee that I won't be targeted with a post restriction/silence D3, and I think my information is too important for town to lose.

Basically, every night I get three statements about the game, two are true and one is a lie, and I pick one to add to the SoD post. Basically, an Oracle variant, and I softed this role in my opening post.

For N0, the three statements were that there were two baddies, there were three baddies, and that town had no BTSC. As the first two statements are contradictory, the third had to be true, so I selected it.

For N1, I got my statements at 10:00 AM EST, only a couple hours before SoD. (I didn't get my statements for tonight yet, so it'll presumably happen at around the same time) They were that there is a janitor in the game, that one player was found to be town, and the statement about double targeting. I selected the second, as I thought that the first would self-resolve and I was unsure of the value of the third statement. If that is true, it would lend credence to LC's claim, as we have seen no counterclaims of a cleared townie. However, that depends on one of the other statements being false. While the hosts may have inadvertently confirmed the first as false, perhaps it will be more clear if we have a larger sample size of nightkill flips. That leaves the third to be proven/disproven.

I'll try to get the third set up here once it arrives.

Does anyone know if "double targeting" was "trying" to happen this game? If so, that could clear a few things up

Yeah, I don't like that because it seems to confirm much about the game and it just feels angleshoot-y to talk about. I'll just make a couple of observations:

- Upon sig's initial flip, alignment was revealed but falcon's was not.
- If nightkills are confirmed janitored, then that would suggest that vig kills/etc. aren't. But why would alignment be hidden if wolf kills were the only method of death, unless we're dealing with an ITP?

As I said, I have other reasons to question this but I won't reveal them.

for integrity's sake, I just want to confirm that if you had received such an ability as town, you would have simply never used it?

Yes. In fact, I had a vote silencing role as town in a previous game on this site and never used it. Still, if it's compulsive, I'd like to know, even then her use of the rule seems to be more motivated by a personal grudge than anything pro-town. Then again, I was widely townread, and maybe it's better to silence those than the people you want to sort out; still no excuse if it's not compulsive.
