Re: Wolfwalkers Lá a Trí (D3)
If i had to peg anyone for wolves, just based on energy and not the no-kill situation, I’d probably just call it LC and stick alone. Or Robyn and baker.
Basically what I’m saying is Garebear should be a hit here based on how i perceive town movers. We reassess if that’s not the case. Wolves are giving us a gift of being able to make mistakes so I’m fine taking it on this

I think you’ll find I’m not demotivated, I just..,don’t have a lot to go on. I don’t know what to talk about besides general vibes of whether or not I believe people pushing wagons.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 7:12 pm I think Scotty? is my strongest townread. He's doing his own thing without being showy about it, and his general vibe of starting active but now seeming a bit lower energy tracks with what I'd expect of a townie who came into the game as normal but is feeling unmotivated the misfires and the lack of kills has created a strange gamestate where it feels like wheels are spinning in place.
No one is dying on paper from wolves, and it’s quite fascinating. I think my whole perspective changes with a Garebear flip

Ohhh yeah.Stick wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 4:22 pmHmm who are your SRs apart from garebare?
Also that’s lol but nah, the OP says there’s a wolfwalkers faction. Pretty sure the above is just source material flavour (townsfolk don’t believe wolfwalkers exist etc)
‘There may or may not be other factions’ is a distinct wrinkle that could be preventing wolf NKs for some reason. Like, maybe they need a 3p dead or some other conditional we just won’t know about.

Honestly? No, prestige isn’t really all that important more than just winning is. I play to win, and the style of getting there isn’t as important to me for clout.baker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 2:38 pmatp i don't wanna speculate on what happened without info. but if we are in a world where mafia holstering for a prestige win, I would expect such effort from Martin too. I TR them though so its probably less likely.
Would you really not try such a concept though? What does this game mean to you @Scotty
Now if there’s a strategy to employ in not NKing that takes pressure off of me for whatever reason, then sure. I just don’t see the ‘whatever reason’ atm

Actually
If mafia is truly trying to purposefully play on a self-imposed hard mode, stick is definitely doing everything in their power to come out of this with accolades befitting a mafia boss. It’s just a funny concept to me

Re: Wolfwalkers Lá a Trí (D3)
I will say Stick’s endeavor to focus on not Garebear is probably worth a few town points. Because if Garebear truly is wolf, stick is probably not their partner. Garebear truly is the obvious LHF today and would be an easy mislynch if he’s town.
Meanwhile, Robyn’s wall post rivals that of post war Berlin and I don’t even really know what to do with it.
Like I don’t know what to do with Robyn at all this game. They’re just…here.

Re: Wolfwalkers Lá a Trí (D3)
Can you expand on what a no-NK win entails? Is that some weird meta achievement or is it some form of mech you think this game is employing?baker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 2:08 pm I think Robyns re-entry shown good potential. I wouldn't look into them today.
Martin and MR are still towny.
Scotty is town on most occasions but I am still paranoid here and if mafia is going for no NK win, I would except this to come from Scotty for achievement purposes. Their high WIM can swing both ways.
Wilgy and LC are null for me. I am not feeling confident rereading into Wilgy and LC yet. I will do them another time.
Garebare afk
Abi afk
Stick has been underwhelming according to my meta knowledge of their strong town play. I think there is no other player I want dead right now besides Stick. Their flip will give me the best understanding of the gamestate and the chances of catching them as wolf is higher than what I think of other people.
[VOTE: Stick] aubergine
I truly don’t understand why mafia would just choose to play on hard mode for funsies

Re: Wolfwalkers Lá a Trí (D3)
I’m not looking to waste the day, and agree
I had a fitful sleep (don’t worry, it wasn’t mostly Mafia related, mostly coughing up Christmas) but I’m currently of the mind that the lack of NKs are one of two things:
-we actually do have that canoneer that I think Robyn suggested.
-only one mafia is assigned the kill of the team a la how SVS’ role functioned in Ted Lasso.
I can totally see the latter as this case, as it would explain why things are so quiet. Garebear.
And by association, I feel like garebear’s partner would be LOSING. THEIR. MIND. Wouldn’t surprise me if they came out swinging for Garebear this phase because he’s an actual liability for progressing the game state. OR has absolutely no wim the past day (LC/robyn/abbi). Maybe even Stick? But less so

falcon operated as an altered vig, cop, doc and tie breaker. Losing him shouldn’t break the game in theory, as town can’t hang their entire PRs on one person- I refuse to believe the mech is structured that way. There is a definite chance there is a blocker in this game. And if it’s 2 wolves, they probably also have an Uber powerful wolf to match falcon’s. I would guess limited shot.
So there IS a modicum of explanation of things provided there is a town blocker.
Can’t speak to any other bizarre mech where mafia can’t NK for some reason. Seems too stilted
just town blocker seems super swingy to me
its not a cop but it does prevent a kill while potentially catching a wolf alongside proving a town if they so claim

An yes, LC. A man of taste I seeMartinGG99 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 12:08 am I'm beginning to wonder if the night-kill is controlled by one role or something and that role is AFK.
Might be imaginable considering how fanciful the Lord Protector was, if each wolf was unique like that.
I don't see this as likely, especially since night-kills being factional is absurdly common, but I do see it as perhaps the most fitting explanation outside of being trolled.
I also just don't know the media that this game is themed around, so I don't know if such a role could even be flavorfully substantiated.
In any case, with two "saves" of some sort I'm kinda just itching to suboptimally vote off Garebare. We're basically at D2-equivalent under normal-er game circumstances.
Ignoring that though, [VOTE: LC] aubergine

Unless mafia are purposely withholding the kill for some inane reason?
Makes no sense to do that though. 10p left now, it’s 8v2 (6v2,4v2,win) or 7v3 (5v3, win). Could have been 7v2 (5v2, 3v2 mylo) or 6v3 (4v3 mylo).
Mafia kills last night, get a mislynch today, in a 3person team mylo is tomorrow. They save an entire cycle! Like…do that every time in an optimal world

Baker's reaction to your wagon analysis was the bit I could see being performative. Not saying it definitely is, but it felt like an overreaction to what was fairly standard thoughts.

I…don’t think this is w/w? Maybe I don’t know what we’re actually talking aboutMartinGG99 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:51 pmoh please enlighten me as to why wolves (assuming baker wolf) would make around-the-bout and indirect comments to each other about the other being manipulated by an appeal to authority or whatever
because an appeal to authority is just meaningless to wolves and wolves can't really be manipulated since they know everything -- only way this could remotely (and only remotely at that) make sense is if he was telling a wolf buddy about a way to flip a read on someone else but if that's the case why do it publicly or even just discuss it with them on the idea of pressuring scotty lol
if you think that's w/w then that's just your sucky opinion, because you would be supposing the wolves are playing bad or pointlessly in order to probably satisfy whatever bias you have

Also @baker I should note that your posts as a whole on D1 weren’t performative- it was that one post voting for falcon that seemed like a fake, perform-y justification

Re: Wolfwalkers Lá a Dó (D2)
I think I’m just gonna sheep whatever you decide today Wilgy
Because as much as I feel like stick is town, a lot of that has to do with the involvement and not necessarily the content. It could very well be that stick is progressing through reads that aren’t wholly original as a wolf tactic to appear tryhardy. I think I’m in the same boat that I wouldn’t cry if stick were the choice today but I think there are better options at the moment with middling people that are definitely more blendy.

If you had a choice between baker and stick, which is more of a home run to you?DarlingMonroe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:31 pmyou wanna do baker?Scotty wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:26 pmI see you’re still voting stick though.DarlingMonroe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:21 pmI was just wanna know because I am town, and that's not coming across to you, it seems; so i am trying to improveScotty wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:16 pmI actually forgot you said that.DarlingMonroe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:03 pm @Scotty are upset at me for saying you and baker could be wolves? xD awwe
Not a bizarre take because I probably could distance like that. But this isn’t how to get me to not vote you.

im not even one of your 3 votes; im on baker, but i could be petty and make it 4 on you
i wont, since i think baker is scummier, but after your recent posts i think i might feel differentlyI like how they roll their eyes at my post (which does come across as a bit 'wow rude' though it wasn't my intention), go bring up something else, then come back to roll their eyes even harder at me.DarlingMonroe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 9:56 amnot even the ones that were quoted multiple times? so much for paying attention and playing the gameMaster Radishes wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 8:52 amProbably why I don't consciously remember a single post of theirs.Stick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 8:51 ammost of their posts have words that amount to nothing, pretty muchMaster Radishes wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 8:47 amI've paid no attention to DM's posts tbh so no opinion.
It felt like genuine mild annoyance at what I'd said, and now reading it in slow mo I remember scum can be genuinely annoyed too, but in the moment my initial instinct was a towny annoyance.
I don't remember what the second thing was, now.

Depends from host to host. Usually there is more leeway in games that aren’t straight mountainous, which this isn’t. Not sure about leetic’s hosting preferences
