That leaves me with the following players in a group that I felt more strongly about in the distrustfall than the trustfall exercise:
al_sama, dom, nanook, ted

That is four names, and four is almost certainly not enough to net us all of the mafia members left in the game.
I did not include a tier for "players I felt worse about than I expected." If I had done that, Odd and fingersplints would have been the names on the list. I do not wish to give the impression that either of them are outright suspects right now, but if anyone took a hit in this exercise, it was the two of them.

I have no read on JPIC except that he's not aligned with Marmot. I do not have time to sort him out this instant.
Reading this post and Dom's Iso i don't understand how everyone let him be no matter alignament.
And I don't understand how come this idea that no one is pushing him generated in a town read for Dom, i know i read this but idk who posted it

Also I don't understand why is everyone so reluctant in voting Nanook
I said something along those lines about Dom in my trustfall, but that should in no way be intepreted as "generating a town read for Dom." It was the opposite: the best town argument I could come up with for Dom was goofy and weak.

It felt like there were moments in the thread where it started to derail and you two were ones that were not guilty of that if that makes sense.
Like, when it happened you tried to bring it back on track
I see. I interpreted it the other way: the thread started to derail and we stood idly by. It was confusing that that would make it into a trustfall.

Re: Fargo Mafia [DAY 2]

Distrustfall:
Spoiler: show
AL_sama - Has not put forth a representative effort. Marmot said nothing about him until the final hours of Day 1 when they became competing wagons.

Alison - Is a scary mafier. Capitalized on the mystery of the setup and mechanics available to her to make a believable, convoluted claim while also appearing to be actively engaged in the hunt.

BoKnows - Has drawn an unusually high number of mafia role cards on this site in recent memory, and came into this game aware that he would need to change his meta. Made pie charts as an easy way to clear his name via effort.

Dom - A low-hanging fruit option that no one has seized upon. Would be an easy for wolves to push, but that hasn't happened.

Esooa - Coasting on the strength of early town reads. Claim hints are a smokescreen.

falcon45ca - Multiball environment makes mafia falcon feel more at ease because he can hunt authentically, and thus he appears more carefree and natural than he normally would as mafia.

fingersplints - Has been a fairly lowkey presence in this game. Reads do not challenge the status quo.

Justplayingitcool - Similar to falcon, the multiball environment means he can scumhunt authentically and not have to worry about looking fake. I am realizing that I lack a real read on JPIC one way or the other.

KZA - Faked his concern about the potential flavor/mechanical dangers of claiming. Capitalized on the opportunity provided by Alison's role claim by claiming his actual mafia role, passed off as a town role.

Long Con - Underwhelming interactions with Marmot. Has not done anything that would be outside of his range.

Michelle - Has appeared unwilling to engage with other players for little or no reason.

NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME - Looks like he has as mafia in the past. Bad Marmot interactions.

Oddmerta - No visible effort to solve the game.

staypositivefriend - Has been given a fairly prominent position of trust in the game despite doing nothing to overtly earn that. Suggested she had a role that could clear her, but then walked it back.

Strawhenge - Was a highly capable player back in the day, so we're all underestimating his propensity for falsehood here.

tedxtr - Terrible Marmot interactions.

TonyStarkPrime - His efforts to solve the game have not always looked authentic or believable.

Hally - Life is pain.

Re: Fargo Mafia [DAY 2]

Trustfall:
Spoiler: show
AL_sama - New player in a new environment. The thread is moving a mile a minute, al_sama does not know most of us or how we play the game over here, so it is perfectly reasonable for them to have fallen behind and struggled to stay engaged.

Alison - Believable claim. Believable effort. Open to conversation, cooperative, feels like she's emotionally invested in solving the game. Never teamed with Marmot.

BoKnows - Playing a more verbose, carefree game than he has in recent anti-town performances. Made pie charts. Doesn't look to be teamed with Marmot.

Dom - If he was mafia, he'd be a prime bussing candidate because it's free townie points. No one has pushed hard on Dom, therefore he doesn't have teammates who are seeking to gain easy credibility.

Esooa - Hinted at a role claim in a way that would be unnecessary if she is mafia. Generally carefree and believable tone.

falcon45ca - Doesn't seem to be teamed with Marmot. Has routinely put pressure on suspects without feeling bloodthirsty.

fingersplints - Has managed to stay afloat in this game despite mentioning several times that it is moving at a pace that is difficult to stay caught up with.

Justplayingitcool - Does not appear to be teamed with Marmot.

KZA - Does not appear to be teamed with Marmot. Provided a claim in a way that looked authentic.

Long Con - Believable tone and thought process in spite of being the subject of near-constant speculation/skepticism since the start of the game.

Michelle - Not teamed with Marmot, and does not seem to be concerned with how others might perceive her in this game.

NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME - Doesn't seem to care about how he's perceived, has suggested he can mechanically clear himself.

Oddmerta - Vouched for by Alison. Is playing in a way that would normally invite unwanted attention.

staypositivefriend - Never teamed with Marmot. Generally believable and constructive attitude/thread presence.

Strawhenge - Has fairly seamlessly stepped into the fast-paced scum-hunting environment of this thread after not playing a single game of mafia in the last 5 years. Does not appear to be teamed with Marmot.

tedxtr - I'm in a tunnel. His frustration today is an authentic reaction by a misread civilian.

TonyStarkPrime - Not teamed with Marmot. Has been unnecessarily combative at a time when he had no reason to be.

hally - I had a dream where the clouds parted and a voice from the heavens spoke to me and said "Verily, Hally is Town."

Re: Fargo Mafia [DAY 2]

We might be nearing a point where a collective trustfall/distrustfall exercise could be useful for everyone.

The first ~20 hours of this phase have been fairly productive, but I think we're starting to lose steam on the current topics and it's devolving into a little bit more bickering than I'd like to see. So that provides us with a good opportunity to regroup and reassess where we are all at before launching into the second half of Day 2.

For those that aren't familiar with trustfalls, the premise is this: Present a (brief) argument for why every player in the game is town. A distrustfall is the opposite: present a brief argument why every player in the game is mafia.
Then at the end of the exercise, go back over your list(s) and see which name stood out to you as difficult or easy to come up with arguments for one way or the other.

I am not demanding that anyone do this, I just feel like we've reached a point where this sort of assessment can be valuable.

Post #2 states directly that is intending to ISO LC. Usually we ISO players because we are lacking clear or cohesive reads on them. But Marmot had just told us he had a clear or cohesive read on LC four minutes earlier.

What do people make of this? Is the awkwardness just a result of Marmot's alignment? Or does it suggest anything special about LC?
I read that exchange as Marmot justifying why he ISO'd LC
Had he ISO'd LC? I read it as "Last night I intended to ISO LC, but never got around to it."
My interpretation was "I am not voting LC" because he wanted to "ISO a few people and LC was one of them". I.E, he ISO'd LC and then made post number 1 as a result of ISOing.
I see no evidence that Marmot had ISO'd LC, and "I wanted to" implies lack of fulfillment, as opposed to simply saying "I ISO'd LC and this was my read."

Re: Fargo Mafia [DAY 2]

I am a swiss army employee at the restaurant i work at. In late February I was asked to fill in on dish for "a couple weeks" because one of the dishwashers was going away on vacation. "A couple weeks" turned into a month and a half. Today was supposed to be the day I finally went back to my normal job. But apparently Mr Vacation came back and requested a big raise, and was shown the door. So that means tonight I am continuing to wash dishes.

This is my way of announcing to the thread that I'm going to be busy this evening, and then tired and burnt out when I get back later in the night.

Unless you reveal as innocent child or something similar there is very little that you can do at this point to convince the town that their suspicion of you is wrong. You've been doing this self defense stuff since Night 1 and nobody has been swayed. If you are town, the best way to play to your win condition is to just hunt like a normal person, and leave a strong legacy for town to sheep. People in the POE always have better reads because they have a free cop check on themselves. So if you are town use that to your advantage and give us strong reads to fall back on after you die rather than struggling against an outcome that won't change.
exactly, i know i'm gonna die here for bad reasons

my reads won't really matter in the bigger scheme of things
Your reads only wouldn’t matter after your death if you are revealed to be bad  as Alison just explained why you should still post for legacy
nah they won't, i've played enough games

nobody cares about a PoE'd person's reads on D2. there's gonna be new info and generally people play good here, they'll stick to their reads
If you engage with folks in good faith now, there is a good chance you can influence their reads or the way that they are looking at certain players.

This is multiball, so even somebody who is unwilling to consider a world where you are not mafia should be willing to hear what you have to say about suspects from The Other Team.

when are you gonna try to find wolves or solve the game? i wanna mark it on my calendar so i don’t miss it :p
i probably won't, it's annoying when all heat is on me

acting like that's an indicator for wolfiness or villageriness in multiball - if i were a wolf i would've done what you all want me to do since ages ago...since it's multiball
If you're villager the game doesn't end when you die. It's your responsibility as a villa to produce good reads to help the town win after you're gone. Being scumread is annoying. We've all been there. You acknowledge that there is a risk you will be the top suspect at one point or another when you sign up for a game of mafia. Suck it up and play the game. Otherwise you're letting your personal emotions get in the way of your win con.
Look Jay I followed your legacy. Are you proud of me?
Yes, although "suck it up and play the game" is harsher language than I, JaggedJimmyJay, would use.

I should stick with low posting
Okay, but you have spent more than enough time in this thread to have looked over the conversation I had with ted last night. It was not extremely long. It would only take a few minutes to look at, and hearing your input on it would be helpful, especially given your strong town read on Ted right now.
I thought ted's explanation sounded reasonable. He didn't want to get into it with Alison about opposing views on Marmot because she is notoriously stubborn.
As I said to ted last night, my objection is that I do not believe him. I don't think that explanation is particularly reasonable anyway ("I didn't talk to Alison about the read I asked her for because she's stubborn" is silly and, in my experience, not how mafia works. Among other objections), but I also do not believe that it is an accurate representation of what he was doing and thinking at the time.

It became a bit of a running joke last night, but I am completely serious about the "Got it" accusation. Ted produced a town read on Marmot. He then asked Alison to explain her case against Marmot. When Alison did that, Ted replied by simply saying "Got it" and then shifting the discussion to KZA. Ted later said that "Got it" was supposed to be interpreted as him disagreeing with Alison's case.

I am old and not hip with all the lingo that gets thrown around these days, but I've never seen anyone use the affirmative "got it" to mean "I disagree with you."
I see the acknowledging curtness of "Got it" as conveying "Thanks for your time; I'm not interested in engaging with any of that."

Which I could see a Marmot teammate doing. Would the mindset be that he thought Alison might say something negative about Marmot that he could easily counter, but ted pulled the chute when he thought it wouldn't go well?
And I don't read "Thanks for your time; I'm not interested in engaging with any of that" to be a believable reaction from a civilian who has just ISO'd a player to the tune of a town read and then specifically requested another player present their case against said town read. So in either case, I think Ted looks like he is full of baloney.

I do not know what ted's mindset would be, but the complete lack of follow through on his part makes me believe that he was not actually interested in either the work he'd just done to produce a town read on Marmot, engaging in a discussion about the reads/votes on Marmot, or both.
