Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 9

Hello everyone.

The main thread is now open. All further posting is to occur there. The tribe threads are now locked.

I will be creating a new poll and restarting the day in due course. In addition, everyone will be given view permissions to both threads.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 9

From Cecil:

To confirm your question formally, Scotty

I did in fact miss the night 4 submission, was very busy that day. And a wonderful welcome to all the bidoof/Cerberus tribe members. Whatever you all call it. I see no reason not to trust all of you vocal members, afterall we lost 3 of the people we started the day with if you include the late JackofHearts2005. If the wacky Doctor has no objections to being removed I say we move forward in the operation. I wanted to iterate again that it’s most splendid that we got two mafia players out of the game yesterday.

I never really considered if the other tribe was receiving these messages, but in any case it wouldn’t hurt for me to remind them that Speedchuck is basically confirmed mafia with Nutella’s flip.

Let us move forward with a pep in our step and eyes shining bright, into a beautiful new day. Also Sprityo is most definitely Cecil just for your extra confirmation.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Night 8

MacDougall was frustrated. Not everyone had done the job that he hoped, and he didn’t take kindly to failure. He was concerned that the meddling of the Citadel Council was becoming problematic.

He had a clear vision for his next target, however. He sent the acolytes out with nunchucks. If you’re committing murder, you may as well do it in style.

Night 8 has ended. Sprityo has died. He was:
15: Cecil (Welcome to Night Vale). Each night, you can write a news article to be published in the thread via the host.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 8

Everyone looked around and took in their new environs.

“What’s that on your cheek?” Dharmahelper asked Scotty

“I am here” said Sloonei “You must all be pleased that I have arrived. Now, where was I? That’s right, I was on lynching Marmot. Let’s lynch Marmot”.

“I feel a little queasy” said nutella, putting down her half eaten biscuit. She started foaming at the mouth. “Wait” she said “did someo…” and then she lay dead on the ground.

“I have a new theory.” Said Epignosis “lets lynch speedchuck.”

“Hmm” said sloonei “I guess I could go for a lazy day – those people over at Cerberus are bound to tie speedchuck up.”

Day 8 has ended. Marmot has been lynched. He was:
2: The Powder-Faced Women (A Mafia of Unfortunate Events). Your vote counts for two as long as at least one other member of Strexcorp votes the same way. You are MAFIA and a member of STREXCORP.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Night 7

There was a bright flash in the sky. Everyone shielded their eyes, but they found themselves disoriented. No-one could do much for a while, but when they came to, some of them found that they had moved to an entirely new beach. And there was the wreckage of the other half of the train, with them!

They went around, discovering and talking to old friends. In the confusion, it wasn't at all hard for the Citadel Council to arrange a kill. This time, they wanted one of their reanimated subjects back for good - what use is new technology if you can't study it's effects at close quarters? Yes, a dissection was clearly necessary.

Night 7 has ended. JackofHearts2005 has died. He was:
80: Reloader (Greater Idea). You may target someone each night. If they have previously used a one-shot ability they will regain it. You may only target each player once in the game.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 7

Things had been going smoothly on Team Pikachu for days. Consensus had been easily built, lynchings were prolific. Everyone was happy. But on day seven, things took a turn for the… divisive.

“Suddenly, this game got hard” said nutella “I’m strapped to a bomb vest, AND I don’t know who to vote for.”

“Neither do I” said Dharmahelper “But I’m all in on ties”

“Please do not lynch me
As if you could, I’m haiku’d
That’s perfect timing” said dom

“What’s up with the votes for me” said colonialbob “Is it just because you don’t like bombs?”

“I have solved the game.” Said Epignosis “it hinges around the number 32.”

“Ooooh, I know” said Quin “32 is Mr Freeze. That explains the blizzard.”

“I am the moon, I am the sun” sang speedchuck. He was busy composing a song, having nothing he’d prefer to do with his time.

Everyone started writing lists and listicles. Dragon D. Luffy wrote a “Ten people most likely to be bad at Pikachu” list, but realised that was everyone. Sprityo wrote a “10 ways the hosts are most likely to reference Phenon” list. S~V~S got in on the action, writing a “10 ways to use the word shiggles” list. Everyone was so involved, they barely noticed the sun set.

"Hey look" said nutella "I got this thing off! Thanks for your help, everyone."

Day 7 has ended. Marmot has been lynched. He was:
79: Mt Erebus (Mountain). Frequent blizzards cause loss of visibility. Twice in the game, once during a day phase and once during a night phase, you may prevent any abilities or effects from occurring. Any x-shot abilities used will consume a shot. If any ability or effect has already taken place before you use your ability in a phase, your ability will be consumed without effect, however there will be a risk of death to those who have ventured out into the blizzard.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 7

Speedchuck's role and affiliation has been revealed. He is:
You are TOWN. You will win if all anti-town factions are eliminated.

You are 59: The Moon (Elemental). Each night, you will PM one element to the hosts (Light, Darkness, Gas or Dust) and one player to be targeted for any effect the element may have. If the Sun is in the game, they will also choose one element out of Light, Darkness, Gas or Dust. When you and the Sun are both in the game, your element choices will combine to form one effect. Each combined effect may only be triggered once. The Sun's target will get the benefit of any positive effect, while your target will suffer any negative effect. You may not choose the same element or the same target on consecutive days. You will not be informed of the effects of your elements.
He is still alive. Carry on.

NUTELLA WOKE UP STRAPPED TO A BOMB VEST

Today, Nutella will have to successfully complete three tasks. These tasks will not be easy. One of them won't even be objectively solveable and may require a little guesswork. Nevertheless, nutella must correctly complete all three to survive.

Each task will be posted in this thread at a present time during this day. Successful completion of each task will be one step towards fully defusing the bomb. Once all three tasks are successfully complete, the bomb will be defused.

All players in the thread may help nutella solve the tasks. However, each task is only officially complete when nutella PMs both hosts with an answer. Nutella only has one shot at completing each task - but a single incorrect answer, and the bomb will go off.

If you have any questions, you may ask them now.

MacDougall rubbed his hands with glee. His acolytes had done all he wanted and more. They'd followed his directions to perfection. Well, almost perfection... there was that small matter off the blizzard. But never mind. The Citadel Council might hope to mess with his plans, but he was feeling confident.

"Acolytes" said MacDougall "You have my orders. Go execute them." And his acolytes did.

Night 6 has ended. S~V~S has died. She was:
58: The Asian Flu (Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3). Any person who votes for you will contract the asian flu unless they are innoculated, and will have a 10% chance of dying in place of the lynch or nightkill. Effect will persist until innoculated. Up to 10 people may be infected in this way at a time. Once innoculated, a person cannot be reinfected.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 6

The mood was listless. People were without energy, feeling the impeding inevitability of a colonialbob lynch.

“Hey everyone” said colonialbob “why don’t we try to treat this like a normal day. We don’t have to assume I’ll die.”

“I agree” said DH, voting for cbob.

“I mean, who knows for sure, maybe a completely different outcome is possible” said colonialbob.

“This man makes a lot of sense to me” said sprityo, voting for cbob.

“Have you ever tried balancing on a balance beam that is tilted at an angle?” asked colonialbob “It just isn’t fair. I feel like something is tilted around here.”

“I have no idea what you’re getting at. But I agree we should treat it like a normal day” said dom, voting for cbob.

colonialbob sat down in the sand with a bottle of whisky in one hand and a glass in the other. “So this is the way life ends” said bob “Not with a bang, but with a…”

Nutella executed what the others had voted for. No matter what colonialbob did, he was going to die.

With his dying breath, bob got whispered a few final words… “the vision is a lie”

“I think he said ‘Paulo lies’” said S~V~S.

Day 6 has ended. colonialbob has been lynched. He was:
13: Charlie Pace (Lost Again: Season 3). At the beginning of the game, it will be announced that you are Charlie Pace and that you will die at the end of day 6. In reality, this is not true. You are Charlie Pace, but your actual role is to curse the person who casts the final vote to lynch you or who nightkills you. If that person is in their 1st role, their vote will count zero and they will be unable to win while they remain in that role. If that person is in their 2nd role, they will be strapped to a bomb vest and will have to complete three tasks by day end to defuse the vest.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 5

Long Con rummaged around in the wreckage of the train. He knew there was something in here that would convince everyone. He pulled out a leatherbound tome. This is what would do it.

"Look everyone" Long Con said "This is my book of faces."

He turned the pages as everyone looked at his pictures. There was a picture of a sock. There was one of golden, who thankfully during the day had appeared and was no longer missing. He had a picture of Epignosis too.

"That's not me" said Epignosis "I don't even have a face."

"Look, here's another one" said LC. "This is fucking SVS." Long Con turned beet red. In hindsight, that picture might come off as being a little stalkerish.

"Hey" said DharmaHelper "Here's something I think would help you, Long Con. I found this very long rope. I hope you can use it."

"Perfect" said dom "We can use that to lynch him with."

"Don't stop until it's done" said DDL

"I'm good with knots" said sprityo

Colonialbob said nothing at all. He was still looking for that missing finger.

Day 5 has ended. Long Con has been lynched. He was:
96: Michaelangelo, forger (Phenon). You may choose one player, and have them appear as any affiliation that you wish upon death. You may change the identity of that player at any time other than during the last hour of a phase. You are MAFIA and a member of the EVIL EVENS.

The lynching of Long Con was barely over when the snow began to fall. Gently at first, but it built stronger, and it wasn't long before a full on blizzard was occurring. No-one could see anyone else, and it was all they could do to huddle in whatever sheltered spot they could find. No-one could explain such an event in Fiji... and they were in Fiji.... weren't they??

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 4

"Thanks for not lynching me" said nutella "I dunno what to make of DDL, but I really appreciate...

Nutella starting frothing uncontrollably at the mouth. Everyone looked in shock. It was nutella who had been lynched afterall. They rounded on DH, who had strung her up.

"Hey fam" said DH "shit got cray, eh? Can anyone find my glasses?"

"Perhaps Sloonei took them back to the Cerberus tribe" said Long Con.

Everyone stopped in their tracks. Surely they hadn't heard right

"Are you trying to tell me that they named their tribe after you?" asked SVS "Who in their right mind would do that? We had enough trouble agreeing on Pikachu, which by the way I bet you all regret. It's a terrible name. We should be named Tribe Olaf."

"Or Tribe Chinese Food" said Quin

"How do you know what they are called, anyway?" asked Dom.

Just then, there was an explosion in the distance. INH's finger landed in colonialbob's cup of tea.

"Good luck reanimating that!" said bob

Everyone returned their attention to Long Con, rounding on him. "Hey" he said "It's not my fault I know the name, I named it. Ask Golden"

"Golden is missing
Don't you even read the posts
aubergine to hell" said Epignosis

"Hey" said bob "did anyone see where that finger went? It's vanished" said bob.

Day 4 has ended. Long Con has been lynched. He was:
11: Commander Shepard (Mass Effect). Your vote value begins at one, and will be determined based on a karmic system. Each day where you vote for a member of the mafia, the worth of your vote will increase by one. Each day where you vote for a civilian, the worth of your vote will decrease by one. Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 4

Insertnamehere has died. He was:
39: Tina Wesson (Survivor). Each night, you will choose one player to inject with an innoculation to a particular virus. Any player who is given the innoculation will be unable to catch the virus and will be cured if they already have it. You may not target the same player twice.

Carry on.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 4

There is absolutely no response I could make to the questions asked of me that is fair, especially given I’ve come in to a thread where people are already telling me how they’ll interpret my answer. I feel I’ve been placed in a very awkward position as I’m basically being told that confirming LCs explanation saves him and rejecting it condemns him. Worse than that, I’ve been clearly told not saying anything at all also condemns him. As a host, generally speaking, there is a position I can take that is fair and balanced. Here, there appears to be no position I can take that is actually fair to everyone, not even ignoring the question entirely. My job is to not interfere. Here, it’s clear there is no approach I can possibly take that won’t influence the game. That is quite unfortunate.

In the circumstances, I think the only thing that can be done is this - both Juliets and I have agreed we are going to ignore all questions about LCs explanation, however they are framed and whatever implications you would draw from that. I know that, as I’ve stated above, some of you will draw inference from that. You should not draw inference, as in a perfect world this is the position I would take believing it was the only non-interfering response. I can’t see any way I ever could have responded without removing potential worlds from the table, and I don’t ever want to do that. You should judge the explanation on its merits and your belief of its likelihood regardless of anything I have to say.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 4

Juliets is correct, infodumping is infodumping, full stop. It doesn't matter that the role is dead, it is still info that you have and want to share if you want to talk about a past life.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Day 4

An unfortunate side-effect of resurrection - sometimes it can be difficult to tell exactly who died.

The hosts have made a rather sizeable error. We thought that Dragon D. Luffy had been killed, but upon further observation it has been clear that he is acting more or less the same as usual. Nutella,
on the other hand - there's definitely something different about her.

As a result, we are reissuing the results of the day three lynch.

Nutella has died. She was:

86: Proton (Elemental) - You have BTSC with Electron. You will be sent a chat link for BTSC and must log in as "Proton". Each night, you will PM one element to the hosts (Air, Earth, Wind or Fire) and one player to be targeted for any effect the element may have. While Electron is in the game, they will also choose one element out of Air, Earth, Wind or Fire. When you and Electron are both in the game, your element choices will combine to form one effect. Your target will get the benefit of any positive effect, while Electrons target will suffer any negative effect. You may not choose the same pair of elements until each pair has been selected. If Electron dies before you, you may not select the same element on consecutive nights. You may not select the same target on consecutive nights. You will not be informed of the effects of your elements.

That was day 3. Then came night 4. It is still day 4.

Dragon D. Luffy has had his first life restored, but to be fair to all he will remain in his second role for both lives. His role will not be revealed upon his first death.

(To be clear, this is not a player ability causing this - it is a genuine host error. There was something we missed at the time, and have identified upon review. As it happened, in the context of this particular setup there was an easily available option to fix the issue.)

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Night 3

The hired guns of the Citadel Council met once again in the dark of night. So far, the re-animation technology appeared to be going off without a hitch, although there was something a little bit weird about Ninja's jaw, and every now and then Scotty would yell "FREEDOM" for no particular reason. All in all, though, everyone seemed to be doing ok. It didn't hurt so much that someone had taken out Scotty in the dead of the previous night, although perhaps it was a little worrying that they weren't the only ones without an agenda.

Nevertheless, they had clear instructions from the Council. Continue their work. They chose their next target, and pulled the trigger.

Night 3 has ended. JackofHearts2005 has died. He was:
89: Kramer (Seinfeld). You are persuasive at convincing people to do things they shouldn't be doing. Once each night, you will target a player and force them to publicly vote the way of his choosing the next day.

It is now day 4. It will last for 48 hours. Vote away

I've given this serious consideration, and in the end I'm fine that you talk about the challenges, but just be aware that the hosts will not be answering questions or giving any clarifications about the challenge or the end result.

I’m not sure who would do so without infodumping. There will be absolutely no claiming from any person that you have died or not died.

Re: Pikachu Tribe - Night 2

MacDougall was hunched in a corner, musing to himself about how best to put his plans into actions. His acolytes were waiting for instruction.

"Those fools" said MacDougall "They actually believe the Citadel Council put MacGoogle into the system. And did they really think I would be hired to be a train engineer? This lot are so naive. They couldn't even tell that I'd faked my own death.

But we have a problem. The Citadel Council have clearly got plants, people in the system who are doing their bidding. It's getting in the way of my plans for world dominance. Or at least, for dominance of the Syndicate once and for all. I see no other option, devotees. It's time to be ruthless."

"We know what we must do." said an acolyte. They stood up and departed.

Night 2 has ended. Scotty has been killed. He was:
Infinity: The Reapers (Mass Effect). You are only here to influence the minds of all sentient beings and then reap their souls. You can insanify a player of your choice each night.
