I am going to vote for A Person right now. I don't want to lynch another active civ player, I'm going to go for someone who the baddies won't NK - either because he/she is one of them or because he/she is not playing and isn't a threat to them.

That is why we killed you in RR. We knew that you were going to figure us out really soon and we needed to kill you before you did. I think that this is happening in this game too. I think that might be how the baddies play in a lot of games (even though I only have the one game to reference).

I want to vote MP but no one else seems to want to do that right now. Maybe not voting at all will get me in the least amount of trouble. Maybe that's just what I have to do, not vote.
I actually thought you didn't vote because of my warning to be careful where you put your vote. I can't figure out why MM would have arrested you. You didn't vote him Day 1. I would have arrested someone who did to keep their vote off me.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 3]
That really would be a Llama-type caveat wouldn't it? Well, I didn't write the will. IF there's a second will, I didn't write that one either. I don't know anything about them and if I have money or anything else to give when I die it will be complete news to me.Golden wrote:I actually suspect noone can get anything from the will until the lawyer has had it and its been executed by the lawyer. Just a suspicion.
The baddies aren't going to NK the quiet civs. They are going to NK the civs that are playing (by that token, an NK on SVS last night makes sense). If we lynch all the vocal civs and leave only the baddies and the civs that aren't playing, then we are for sure going to loose. Disagree with me if you like, but it's frustrating to have to play this way.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 3]
I can totally agree with this. I don't think SVS is a baddie. I think she might be a celestial, but as she pointed out, they are not bad. However, her case against me is not right. I am not bad either. We should team up rather than fight against each other.Golden wrote:My first ever game of mafia, I was a civ and I played with SVS. It was a tough game, like this one, where we went a few lynches without finding a baddie and paranoia was at a high. So I built a case. It was such a solid case. It expounded on the links between the three people I thought were mafia. It focussed on their attitudes and many other things. It really looked so good.
Not one of them was bad.
The reason I had felt that way was, in part, because SVS went aggressively after people who I thought were civ all along, and got them lynched. She also tended to come after me, even though I was civ. I thought this must be bad SVS. I made this mistake three consecutive times... the first three times I played with SVS.
Then, I came to realise, SVS just believes in what she believes in. She goes hard for it - something I could completely relate to. And sometimes she is wrong. I honestly don't think we are seeing baddie SVS... its the exact SVS I've seen so many times before, suspected so many times before, and been wrong about.
(by the way though, I found the case I made on SVS in my first ever game the other day, and it was what made me think I needed to come back and play more mafia, so it was good for something).
linki - yes, I remember that she voted for BF before he named me. That's why I think she want's to get stuff so badly. Maybe she's lying and the will really does say that the holder gets tons of money when I die and it's some kind of win condition. That's just as likely as the baddies planting a last-ditch Zomba saving will reference in the paper. There has to be more than one will. Otherwise what would the lawyer be for?

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 3]
The fact that so many people can get away with not playing this game might be the reason why the baddies win all time. If you only vote for people who play then all the baddies have to do is sit back and watch the civs annihilate each other. How is that fun for anyone?

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 1]
The thing is, I kind of have. Since the beginning of the game. I’ve given real, actual, truthful explanations of all the suspicions thrown my way. But…here is a post I made on Mar 21juliets wrote:Zomba, you never answered my question.
As I have said before – I didn’t vote because I was in jail and I was forbidden plain and simple.Zombarella wrote:Okay. I've spent some serious time with some host PMs and I've been talked down from the ledge. For all of you who are so obviously ready to "assume that Zomba is bad" because BF (or whoever) said, "My paper says I should kill Zomba" you need to check your logic...and the roles...and the items...and Llama's host style.
For ease of reference I have posted the roles below. Where does it say that baddies are the only only ones with money? Why couldn't I be the burglar or the inventor or the wealthy gad or the lawyer or someone who actually picked a valuable item. How do you know that I didn't lie about the stock certificate so that it wouldn't get stolen?
Any suspicion of me is pure speculation based on lazy baddie hunting or a baddie plot to lynch a civ. Whoever suggested that this might be a baddie plot to throw another baddie under the bus -- what?! Why would a baddie team do that on day 1? There are literally twice as many civs as baddies and you think that they would be like "oh, who cares if we're down one right out the gate?" I was on a baddie team last game and wouldn't have made any sense at all.
Roles:
Civilians: Kill All Mafia to Win
Gilrick Sandringham - The Jack of All Trades. Extremely well read and a master of taking on others’ identities. Also completely insane. Gets a different power every night.
Patrick McFee - The Cemetery Superintendent - Can role check the dead.
Tim Waldo - The Burglar - Can steal an item each night.
Mimi LeCompte - The Reptile Queen - Can send her reptiles after people, tormenting them.
John Cooper Jarndyce - The Sensationalist - Can create a scene which will enthrall two players for a day.
Jeff Darrell - The Ace Reporter - Finds out the location of various items, which he can choose to publish in his paper or not.
Philodexter Maxellus - The Poetry Publisher - Can post poems in the thread to share his thoughts.
John Barr - The Inventor of the Barr Bag - Can put one item in the Barr Bag, preventing it from being stolen.
Sophie Kratzenschneiderwümpel - The Litigious Lady - Files lawsuits to extract items from male roles.
Simon Grundt - The Feeble-Minded Detective - Gets info but there is a 50% chance it is wrong.
Casimer Jech - The Antique Dealer - Can trade his items for others each night. If the item is usable, both parties can immediately gain the benefit.
Oliver Oliver - The Wealthy Gad-About-Town - Gives himself BTSC with another player each night.
Luke McCracken - The Cracksman - Searches for the safe or Shrik’s vault, finding a secret inside in addition to any items stored there.
Chief O’Toole - The Police Chief - Can arrest someone each night, nullifying their vote the following day and their ability to use any items.
Sato Okimo - The Japanese Lawyer - Can execute wills, stock certificates and promissory notes.
Mafia: Outnumber Civilians and Celestials to Win
Macleish MacPherson - The Crooked Doctor - Can dispense medicine that does a variety of unsavory and often illegal things.
Ivan Kossakoff - The Strangler - Can silence every night.
Carl von Tresseler - The Blond Beast of Bremen - Kills every night.
Reed Bardeen - The Millionaire Anarchist - Becomes more powerful the more votes he takes (that don’t kill him.)
Gustav Shrik - The Banker - Can store papers in his vault.
Celestials: Survive and Possess All Five Treasures of the Orient to Win
Napoleon Foy - The Laundryman - Can wash another player’s clothes to remove a lynch vote. Clean people are less suspicious.
Wah Hung Fung - The King of Chinatown - Can target one person and learn one item they have.
Li Ling Lee - The Chop Suey Cook - Can feed someone t remove a lynch vote. Food is strength.
Legga the Human Spider - The Circus Performer - Her superior dexterity allows her to dodge one night kill.
Ichabod Chang - The Chinese Thief - Can steal from someone each night.
I can see where a few are getting the idea that the newspaper thing makes me look bad, but it’s just plain not true. I don’t know who wrote that post. Maybe it was the baddies. But I’m not one of them. Maybe it was Llama. It seems more likely to me that it was Llama that wrote that post just based on the verbiage then anyone else. Also, it doesn’t make sense for any baddie team to try to defend someone who was in so much hot water. Or to do it so clumsily. It makes much more sense to that there are just two different wills.
Honestly, Juliets, I’ve posted ALL of this before and I feel like I’m talking in circles and that everyone is just ignoring what I say and focusing on their own agenda rather than the weaknesses in this case.
To SVS – I’m attacking your case because it is weak and I think that you have an ulterior motive in pushing for my lynch. A good offense? Why am I the only one that needs a good offense? You don’t have one. I’m gone for a little while and you put all these assumptions in the thread like they are some kind of fact. It’s a catch 22. If I didn’t defend myself you would ask me why I wasn’t.
I think that we should vote for people who aren’t reading for the reasons that I’ve mentioned before. I know that this is some kind of super offensive thing to say on some other mafia site, but it’s true. Baddies don’t have to read and civies that don’t read aren’t helping. When a player asks a question about something that has already been discussed at length or even answered three posts before, that should be good evidence that they aren’t putting in effort.
Please don’t lynch me. SVS was gung ho about BF = Civ. SVS voted for MM = Civ. SVS gunning for Zomba = Civ. There is a pattern emerging. We can’t let her get away with this.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 3]
I guess they might. But the Celestials have some kind of goal to get stuff and SVS was defending me as civ until she got that stupid will from BF and she's been after me ever since. Maybe it really does say that she would get lots of money. That's not in my role at all so I don't know how that could be possible. Maybe it's a forgery or something. All I know is that she keeps reading everything that happens as Zomba is bad when I'm totally not. Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 3]
Holy smokes! I've never in my life seen so many people who wanted to hear from me. I missed the vote because I was in jail. I didn't say so at the time b/c of infodumping or whatever but my hints were falling on deaf ears. The role says that if you are in jail your vote doesn't count, but the PM I got actually said that I wasn't allowed to vote.
I am not "faking" I really have not been here. I went out to dinner and a movie last night and today I've been busy with school. Sheesh.
Okay - All of you who are listening to SVS really need to take a look at what she is saying. She told us what my will said, I was relieved that my ROLE, which has nothing to do with money - it would have been ruined because of WHAT MY ROLE DOES - not money - besides, I don't even get how the Millionaire role would be ruined by what BF said. That's what doesn't make sense. I know that I'm not bad and what I said doesn't make sense for one of the baddie roles, but it does for one or more of the civvie roles. I thought that the suspicion that Rabbit and BWT (who isnt' reading the thread) had would die off. But now SVS comes up with this idea that I "misinterpreted" what she said and that makes me bad and that only one will can exist in the game (even though the word "wills" is specifically used in at least one of the role descriptions) and that the baddies somehow wrote the newspaper post (even though there are civ roles that actually post to the newspaper) and that the baddies would choose some convoluted message about Gilchrist (who I am NOT) to defend me because I am their baddie teammate and that she must have been the target of the NK because now her statue isn't glowing anymore (first time she mentions this) so how convenient that all these people who only read the thread sporadically just happen to read that and assume that she is civ because she was supposedly the NK target and that the baddies would want to be defending me anyway after all the heat I'm in.
SVS's theories are so full of holes and assumptions! She just wants me dead because she wants whatever stuff she thinks I have.
Here's what I think.
1) I misunderstood my role from the very beginning.
2) I took the stock certificate.
3) BF made a claim, I flipped out, I PM'ed Llama. I came back to the game after some clarification.
4) People think that I flipped out because I wouldn't have said what I said unless I'm the millionaire. But that doesn't make sense for two reasons. Why would the Millionaire say that and two why would a baddie team let me say that. Bass even said, I had all kinds of bad ideas that the baddies wouldn't let me do last time I was bad. Now I don't have that filter.
5) SVS gets the will says it says something different. I realize that BF might not have been telling the truth and now I'm less upset. This pings SVS? Why?
6) BECAUSE SHE WANTS ME TO DIE!
7) Now SVS has cooked up this wild speculation about the info in the newspaper making me look bad. That is crazy. There are just as many civ explanations.
DO NOT HOP ON SVS's BANDWAGON. She is using the fact that so many people aren't reading the thread to her advantage. I think that SVS and probably Rabbit and BWT are celestials that are after whatever they can get.
We've already lynched two civs. Please don't make it three.

Golden, I'm glad you are back. I feel bad that MM died. I'm currently re-reading his voters to see if there are any connections.Golden wrote:Rabbit, you have myopic focus, and you are beating a dead horse.
Your transition to playing a golden-like game is complete. Congrats!
linki - I am playing differently. During Death Note I was a civ that hadn't ever been on a baddie team with BTSC so I was much more reckless and unknowing of the scheming and backstabbing that goes on behind the scenes on baddie teams. During RR I was bad and I had BTSC and I was the one doing the scheming. Now that I'm back civ again, I'm trying to be a little more careful. And yes, I'm also still defensive about the BF and the will, and I'm paranoid about people trying to be my friend, and yesterday (like you) my actions were limited. So, yes, I'm different. But not bad. Just learning how to play better. Does that make sense?

Given how the vote went down and everything that happened, I probably still would have voted Zomba had I been able to vote. The poll ending time is really awkward for me (and the new one for tonight still is), so I'll try not to. Although if it doesn't change, in some cases I might have to vote well over 24 hours before some lynches end. We will see though.
Currently though, I am still looking at Zomba. I am also feeling much, MUCH less good about both TH and Epig. I think there's a good chance they played their cards right to get BF lynched and set up MM for the following lynch. Not really sure if the Mussorgsky thing means anything yet, but if it does, that's one of the best pieces of WIFOM I've ever seen anyone play.
Lots of linki

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [NIGHT 2]
Hi again.
Sorry I wasn't able to vote. I would have voted MM because he was for sure getting lynched and I didn't want to put my vote on the Millionaire if MM wasn't him. Which he wasn't. Sorry MM. RIP.
Juliets - I owe you a HUGE apology. I got your name mixed up with Canuklehead. You were not looking for a bandwagon. MM was suggesting that Canuck was looking for a bandwagon. I am going to look into this more.
Rabbit - I don't know what I've done that has made you so myopic about me being bad. I'm posting and reading and looking for baddies and taking notes. I don't know what more you want. I made one comment three days ago when I was upset.
Even if I was bad, which I'm not, there would be four other baddies out there that we would need to find. We know that you think I'm the devil. Is there anyone else that you suspect? Any other thoughts?

Of course, at this point it doesn't really matter, since he seems to be as good as lynches anyway. I wish some more viable candidates would have come up so that I wouldn't feel as though I'm wasting my vote regardless of what I do.
Also, the enlarged part of that post reminds me an awful lot of a certain instance in Death Note. I'm sure Zomba knows what I'm talking about.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 2]
@ Liz Keen - Did you send a curse to my computer? I had a great big post all set up on MP and then my laptop just blinked off for no reason.
@ MM - That was a case on TH. I'm not convinced that TH is ban, but now I'm not convinced that you are either. As far as I can tell, people think you are the millionaire because you self voted on D1 but so did MP and Vompatti. If your bottle really does force responses, it seem like something you would want to protect and self voting would do that.
@ MP - You might be the millionaire or you might have a powerful item or you might have really been mad and self voted because of that. But we already know that you can fake anger in the thread. I know that you are busy right now but self-voting? not reading the thread? no baddie hunting? This isn't the MP I know. Why are you doing this? You might be bad, or at least civ-weird. Also, it looks a little like someone might be calling you to the thread....
@ Vompatti - If you are the millionaire then you are certainly playing it low. You aren't attracting votes necessarily but you are certainly acting very strangely. I haven't played with you before so I don't know your normal game.
Epi do you think that Vompatti is bad? Tee hee? Just a little joke. You don't have to answer that.
I don't know where I'm going to put my vote and I need to decide. If I don't vote MM I will get all kinds of accusations about trying to save my supposed baddie friends, but if I do and MM flips civ, which I think he might, I'll be in trouble for that. I want to vote MP but no one else seems to want to do that right now. Maybe not voting at all will get me in the least amount of trouble. Maybe that's just what I have to do, not vote.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 2]
I second this suggestion. After reading LizKeens case on SVS I'm actually more convinced that SVS is civ. BF's "interpretation" of the will doesn't make sense re my role. I know that I am civ and so I think that SVS probably is too.Long Con wrote:I think it would be cool for Ichabod to steal the Will from S~V~S to see if she was telling the truth about the way it reads. If she is, then BF was making some strange assumptions about the wealth of Zombarella. If she's not, then she's Zomba's teammate, who made sure she got the Will by voting first, in order to assuage the public opinion on her teammate.
If Ichabod steals the Will, then a team of five people will be able to better judge S~V~S' position here.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 2]
LC - I didn't read his posts as bad really, but TH does have a good point about the votes. However, there were tons of missing votes and other votes on random people. Also, BR has a good point about her death. If Snowman were to ever kill me on Night 1 he would be in really big trouble. So...where does that leave us re MM?
MM - You think I'm bad because of two words I posted when I thought that BF ruined my role and I would supposedly only use those words if I was a thwarted baddie. There are other explanations. I don't think you get why I was upset. You self-voted without a well reasoned reason that you want to express on the thread. You kinda seem like you want to fight. I will label your behavior and posts as weird-weird. Not bad, not civ, not civ-weird. Weird-weird. Is that enough to vote for you? Maybe.
Dom and Bullz - I am mostly satisfied by your drive=by posts. Note that this will be my drive-by post for today.
MP - Where are you? I know you are busy with Smashfest, but you gotta make posts here too.
Golden - I agree that I would have expected you to post more before now. If you are silenced then I am thinking that you are probably civ.
Bye Shep and Bea. Come back soon.
Epi - You seem to be more helpful and less chaotic than I've seen you before. Who are you thinking of voting for this round?
SVS - I welcome your call to yesterday's non-voters. Also, you are looking at me again? What is it that you are thinking? I would like to hear your thoughts about Epi.
