What's a Walrus?
It's a music competition! I've created 4 categories. Each category describes a kind of song you should submit to it. These tracks will be scored out of 10. The persons with the highest score in each category wins, and the person with the highest score at the end of the five categories wins overall!!

What's the score based on?
Scoring is out of 10 points
1 point - Music that's new to me (or at least new enough)
5 points- How much your song fits the category
4 points- How much I personally enjoyed the song

Are there any Artist that are banned?
YES! all the following artist are banned!!

My taste could be described as "I like a bit of anything" but taken as a challenge. There's not a genre I would ever shutout, but my listening has definitely biased towards hip-hop historically. To compensate my Top 50 artist (who bias towards hiphop) are banned. All else equal, I bias towards music thats...

- Groovy and Danceable
- You can sing along/harmonize with

I listened to A LOT of Kanye in high school but significantly less now and days. That said Yeezus & 808s and Heartbreak are prob my least favorite albums by him

There's a lot of way to do this category right. You could use the instruments you'd expect to find in a Kindergarten (recorders, Xylophones, toy instruments, etcetc), music with educational content, lullabies, song about being young, songs that remind you about when you were young.

The kind of music that makes you keyboard spam out of disbelieve. You feel overcome with emotion when your ears allow you to listen to these jams. These are tracks that has NO RIGHT being as FIRE, interesting, and dynamic as they are. Unconventional chord progressions, dissonant scales and tempo that don't sound like they're trying to be as weird as they are. Inclusion of odd instruments/vocals that in theory should clash with the rest of the song—but by the grace of god work. GIVE ME DAT FUSION. I want tracks that take from multiple genres, the further apart the genre's are, the better. There are a lot of ways to do well in this category, let your freak flag fly

I really don't have words for this category, but you know it when you hear it. Songs that would fit in the end credit of a movie. You stand up stretch your legs and prepare to exit the theater as you reflect on what you just experienced. Another category that there's an infinite amount of ways to do right!
