That is crazy, I can't imagine someone intentionally killing another player simply because it's their birthday...

I had the English subtitles on too, and the subtitles on Netflix are markedly different than the English audio, and some of the phrasing and word choice were awkward.

If you enjoy subtitles, I'd recommend watching it in Japanese with English subtitles. Then again, Netflix may not offer that.

It does, but I'm more interested in the discrepancies of the English translations.

I'm stuck at work after hours, so I just finished the first episode. I am intrigued. There's a certain corniness that pervades the "get-to-the-point" first episode, but I'm invested. And heck, the series is only 37 23-minute episodes, so it isn't even a big investment.

I thought I might watch it with Eloh, but she hates cartoons.
