Hosting a Game on the Syndicate

Hosting a Game on the Syndicate:

Mafia games on the Syndicate fall under one of the following six categories, and who hosts a game of a specific category next is determined either by a Queue or some Other method:
  • Jobs (Full Games) - Queue-based
  • Heists (Classic Games) - Queue-based
  • Rackets (Light Games) - Queue-based
  • Hustles (Mountainous Games) - Other
  • Burglaries (Turbo Games) - Other
  • Sit Downs (Special Games) - Other
Queue-based: Jobs, Heists, and Rackets are the primary game types we run, and we have a queue for each of these game types. If you wish to host a game of one of these types, you should create a new thread in this sub-forum with the game name and game type as its title (ex. Tree-Stump Mafia - [RACKET]), and the game design in its OP. @Marmot will respond to let you know that it has been added to the queue, which can be found here.

Other: Hustles, Burglaries, and Sit Downs are run on an as-needed/interested basis. If you wish to host a Hustle or Turbo game, contact @Marmot, @JaggedJimmyJay or another Admin, and we'll proceed from there. (I can be reached via PM, or more quickly on Discord at marmot#0236). Sit Downs are rare games that generally fall under the Job, Heist, or Racket category, but the Staff deem as something that can skip the queue, such as our annual Game of Champions or crossover games with other forums.

Submitting a Game (Job, Heist, or Racket):

This is specific to queue-based games. While some details of your games will be decided for you based on the type it falls into, much of it will not. We strongly encourage that you include much of the details of how your game will operate in in the OP. This includes flavor, player count, phase lengths, open/closed nights, whether the game is non-standard (aka bastard), whether there are hammers, etc. Semi-open and closed setups are permitted, but make that clear.

After you create the new thread in this subforum with your game design included, @Marmot will let you know when it's been added to the queue. For each game type, we generally have one game ongoing, and one in signups at a given time, and when a game fills and begins play, we add a new one of that type to signups. Games tend to take 2-4 weeks to fill, depending on player count and demand.
