Re: AIM Mafia

In private channels, especially ones where the participants know who the other are, you get the chance to read another player in a context outside the game. As a civilian hunting for mafia, I feel they have more incentive to utilize btsc to privately hunt for mafia, whereas it adds another layer of "faking it" that mafia have to deal with. It's easier to fake reads in a crowd of 15 players, but harder in a 1on1 context. Obviously a good mafia player can use it to their advantage, I just think it would overall add a benefit town.

That's my belief, but I'm open to counter-arguments.

A soupkill, I think that would be useful if there are roles to be concerned about, but in a mountainous game is probably moot.

Also, I like that the FBI's getting involved. :haha:

Re: AIM Mafia

I don't know if there has. We've certainly had games where BTSC was a common theme, like map games, but I can't recall a game where BTSC was guaranteed.

That said, I do think the BTSC and extra chances of communication provides a huuuuge benefit for town, so the ratio of alignments would need to be catered toward that.

A fun concept I thought of on this subject. Allow a mafia role or 3P role to "invade" another chatroom each night. Or maybe not at night, that might make things obvious, but allow them to read the transcipt discussed in that room after the night ends.
