Lately yes, I can't argue that my recent voting has been great. Looking over your vote history is interesting though... You've managed to keep your hands quite clean. You've not once voted for a player who has been lynched. In fact nearly all of your votes have been on players with no other votes. That's what I call blendy.

What I found particularly interesting was your double vote on TH on day three. Now that we know TH was poisoned on night one by a Cabal member it really just makes my theory about you being linked to a Cabal member stronger. By day three those two votes would have actually been worth 2 or 3 points each if I'm understanding the poisoning role correctly. And look... SVS voted for TH on day 8 when the poison counter should have been up to at least 8, he would have died that day if he hadn't been cured somehow.

Yes, I think my theory about the two of you is correct. The only way I see this being wrong is if the trickster is civ, so I'll be voting trickster.

I'm hesitant on SVS because I always think she's bad and she did this in Dune too where she suspected me non-stop even though I was civvie. However, being wrong on me is one thing, but putting together the idea that TH and I are partners.... woo boy! Either she is seriously misguided or a baddie bad bad.

If I had one kill, I don't know who would be. But I'm thinking MM too, only because I've been after him all game and his sudden vote on me just cuz it was the cool thing to do does not make me thing he's good.

Golden... :sigh:

I'm going to mark you down as civvie. I don't ever do this unless I'm 100% sure (and yes, by saying 100%, I mean 100%), however, I think someone would've called you out when you said all that about striving to put together a civ win and all the btsc you've had, etc etc etc. So eff it.

In that case, knowing you already suspect me, Timmer, and TH...out of those you trust, who do you think would be the Judas?
If you have the time look over the Witherdeath lynches and SVS's votes/posts, that's what convinced me about her.

Interesting theory... I didn't want to see this either. But, tbh, I've held this possibility in the back of my mind for most of the game. You and Golden have my trust. If you think that is the case, it may be worth going after the Gollum first. It pains me to say this :(

Still, I think we should go after the other leads first. We, at least know how to avoid the Gollum's kill.
It pains me too, I think we're going to have to hold it until at least the following lynch anyway. Hopefully you can stay safe until then!

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 11

@ Matt- I still have faith that Golden is civvie, even though we were wrong about bass. I did think that bass had a good chance of being bad, my alternative scenario to bass being bad is much more complicated and involves a lot of stuff that has happened bts that can't just be dumped into the thread.

A few days ago I had a moment where I was trying to get across to Golden in the thread that I think he has been tricked into thinking someone was a civ that isn't. (I guess since it's already been out there, yes, Golden and I have traveled together but it hadn't been for nearly as long as it's been portrayed to be and a few nights ago we were split up and haven't been in contact since outside this thread).

Anyway..... Bass coming back as civ has me returning to the possibility that Golden was tricked. It goes back to the Tarnished Gollum killing Mac a few nights ago and my belief that the gollum and the Cabal are working together, this leads me to believe that the Gollums protected player is a member of the Cabal.

Matt wrote:If Bass is bad, what does he gain from missing three consecutive lynches? He would have to know that would bring him major heat. Even if he is civ. Something is fishy here.

Sorsha, you seem to have been keeping close tabs on Bass with several posts updating us on when he missed two votes, and then three. Are you aware of the Possessing Entity role? It's power is secret, but I'm guessing it possesses other players in some way. Do you think it's possible that Bass has simply been possessed and was forced to miss votes? The only problem I'd have with this is typically you cannot double target, however, it's not out of the realm of possibility that a player can't be possessed for several day phases in a row before being released. ASSUMING that's how the PE's power works in the first place.

I don't know, I just think it's weird how Bass hasn't even made any public apologies to the hosts for missing votes, just says he's been "super busy".
No, I don't usually go off on strange tangents speculating on what a secret role night or might not do. And I think it would be completely unfair to a player to have their participation in a game compromised like that for such a long period of time. I think bass is a baddie laying low.

That being said I'm okay with a timmer lynch. There has been enough speculation on this for long enough that needs to get cleared up.

Matt- regarding the Juliets lynches. Do you think her teammates would have been more likely to have been flip-floppy on suspecting her or just avoided suspecting her in general? Juliets is a hard player to read so I'm not sure that someone being unsure about her would be unusual. If you looked at some of the other players actions during the Juliets lynches I think you find similar suspicious behavior. And not all of them could be her teammates.

I tend to think it more likely the role gets recruited by a baddie.

The advantage a baddie team would have is that if one of their people get the gem and then die, the rest of their team would still know where the gem is and would be able to complete the task. If a civ died with the gem, this wouldn't be so easy. The baddies also have the advantage of getting to know more about what is on each square by covering more squares per day, given they have non-square related btsc.

On the other side of the coin is that there are more civs (or at least at game start there were).

It could go either way.
I feel the same way.

But what civ would take it upon him/herself to find the gem, find the statue, and recruit the statue to the civ side? (Assuming that's how the role works)

I think a mafia team is more likely to coordinate such an event.

One who is on a quest to do such a thing? :knight3:

I think splints could have been responsible for that beacon, and I think that feels like the actions of a baddie.
And I'm tempted to vote TH, to start figuring out this Dr Dre thing, because in some ways it feels to me like it could be the most malevolent threat. As I've thought about it more over the last couple of days, TH's 'the role was civilian last game' could be him providing the most information, but it could also be him intentionally misleading.

They feel like the three I'm most suspicious of right now... so I could see my vote going any of those ways. I'm going to start with TH for now.

@Lorab - I'm also really interested to start having some convo with you today - I feel like I haven't been doing much of that yet, and I'm interested in your thoughts on the Feral Pixie, your thoughts on Mac's death - those two things in particular.

I'll admit, I've been focussed a bit on the beacon because its destruction blew me off course a couple of days ago. Tomorrow night I should get back to where I was originally trying to go on night 7, so at least it wasn't too bad, but it was annoying. I suspect it was splints who did it.
I agree it looks like the Pixie is civ.

It looks to me like one or the other of them was on to something (maybe both were on to something). They have backed each other up in the thread before and would likely do it again. I just feel like there is some kind of trickery going on, Golden.

Did you have a particular team you think he was on?

I still think typh was bad, what do you think about him?

Bass why weren't you here for either of the Juliets lynches the past two days?

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 8

Why are people voting and not giving reasons :disappoint:

I just looked over bass's posts and not liking them. When it was Juliets vs Canuck he decided to vote for Canuck then the next two lynches when Juliets was a candidate he was a no show. He's showed up to vote in the night polls but not the lynch polls plus he's been posting elsewhere on the forums during all of this.

I had originally planned on voting Floyd today but his posts from last night have me doubting his baddie-ness. Tranq- how sure are you about Floyd? Do you think you could be mistaken?

What sounds interesting about the beacon fingersplints?

Yeah, I hadn't thought of it being triggered from somewhere else.

My thinking was its an item someone found on the map and activated there, whether or not they knew what it would do I don't know. A 'beacon' sounds like it could be pretty useful (more useful than it was).

There is a beacon of light shining into the sky, visible from anywhere on the map. It's coming from G9.
This is what LC said about it earlier. So it seems like something from night 6 to me. No one was announced to have been killed by it though. Is that square destroyed now?
I don't think it was random. But whether is was triggered by something or someone put it there, I have no idea. It could have also always been in that space potentially, if that makes sense, and something/someone turned it on, so to speak. I agree it would have been something from night 6. But you seemed to be implying earlier that someone put it there, by your language and the fact that someone was supposedly near there that night.

I guess I just wonder if you know more about this than the rest of us...and why you would mention that someone had claimed to be nearby.

And the square below it looks pretty destroyed on the map.
I have been to the space that the beacon was shining from in the past and there was no mention of a beacon being there to turn on.

RIPIYWG DF.

And Jim Nonplayer...do we think he's a secret role who is really one of the players? Also, great title.

And anyone have speculation on the bodies flying possible dead people beacon of light?
I know someone who was supposedly on or near that square the night the beacon was set there.

What do you think happened LoRab?

Yes truly if you are scum I have sincere doubts that you are on her team. :haha:

Sorsha wrote:I'm just really baffeled as to what happened yesterday. You think Juliets is bad so you want her to get lynched. Then you go on your "vote for me" crusade. Explain to me how this makes sense?
I will repeat myself for the benefit of the scum player who is trying to drive her agenda without actually making an effort to read the explanation I already just gave.

The lion's share of my content up until end of day was pushing the juliets lynch, as it has been each day. I believe I have made it clear without explicitly using words to such effect why I believe her to be scum. I began to receive votes that put my close enough to juliets for me to understand that her lynch was not to be. Well before our vote tally's were six a piece. I already knew she was not going to be lynched.

Me receiving votes was a positive thing for the civ win con but the positive impact of votes on me has now been exhausted and are no longer useful to the civ win con. I cannot diverge exactly why/how they were positive, but I expect there are a few players who know why.

When it became obvious to me that juliets was not going to be lynched. I went back to vote harvesting. Simples.

But, alas, that is no longer the case. Ergo I will no longer be requesting.
Juliets would have been lynched yesterday if you hadn't done what you did, plain and simple.

Linki- I find Juliets and Floyd at the top of my suspicion list. I'd be fine with either of them going, I really have no preference for which goes first. The timmer suspicion I think has some merit to it as well but I feel better about the other two. Maybe I'm just not being clear enough about my suspicions or why I suspect them but I'm not just jumping on any bandwagon that comes along here.
