Thank you ladies, I enjoyed writing it very much. Thanks for pointing out the Fun Fact, Tranq!

Yeah, nutella, you were a Musketeer... dimensional travel must have given them some form of amnesia! That darn cat messed up all my plans for you guys. :disappoint: I think it would have been a lot of fun, and certainly would have engaged insertnamehere to a greater degree.

Re: Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Day 13]

D’Abrutsi Triplets - Three players share the same role, shown only as ‘D’Abrutsi’ in the roles. Altus, Bedanzo, and Cyrillian, none know of the others’ existence. On Day 3, each must try to get lynched, and the one(s) who win will survive the lynch and learn of their brothers, and will know their locations from that point on.

If all three brothers end up on the same square, they realize they are the Musketeers from Recruitment Mafia III (http://forum.revolutionmafia.com/viewto ... 14#p213514), and Altus gets the power to add two votes to a poll, Bedanzo can subtract two, and Cyrillian has votes cast for him cut in half.

If one of the brothers is killed, the remaining two become Indy, with survival win conditions. As long as they remain within two squares of each other, they will automatically protect each other.

The last brother left alive will turn evil and join a random baddie team, acquiring their win condition. If he outlives the rest of the team, he will become a Serial Killer who must be the Last Man Standing.

In order to obfuscate the D'Abrutsi brothers, there had to be some extra roles thrown in that weren't in the game. I threw a couple of extras in, the original idea being some sort of roleclaiming possibility for the really bad-sounding baddies, but then I relaxed it and just let them be. For a fun mystery for the astute observer.

Waresman - Has various items for sale, for the right price. Any information sold to the Waresman will be truth-verified. He cannot use his own wares.

Dark Worshipper - Can sacrifice another player three times in the game. Each kill will grant him extra, permanent powers. The role that he kills determines what the gained powers are.

Hollow Man - All targeting will fail when targeting Hollow Man. Hollow Man will appear as a random Civilian role if rolechecked or lynched.

Random Animal - Randomly becomes a copy of another role each phase, and assumes that role’s Win Condition at the time.

The Waresman was an early role idea that I rejected in the end. I think the same thing happened in A World Reborn. Sounds good, but it's too sloppy and prone to abuse.

Dark Worshipper... loved this idea when I had it, then stopped loving it. Maybe it will appear in a future game.

Hollow Man is a perfect role to not exist. Holloow, right? Also easily poisons the mind if you assume he's out there.

The Random Animal is pretty meh. I guess it did work itself in, many thought Tranq must be that role.

No, I don't feel attacked, I think we just have different ideas about what is balanced. For me balance is achieved when every faction has a decent chance at Victory, as opposed to something like Doctor Who Mafia, where a viral recruiter had to be killed immediately, or the game was 100% going to be theirs.

On the contrary. If vigs are required for the civs to win, it clearly means something is wrong.

Town's main tool is the lynch. If the lynch doesn't work, then town is underpowered.
What it means is that any one decision for the whole game previous to that point could have changed the outcome at that point to a victory the Civs were already enjoying.

Re: Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Day 13]

If the Civs had lynched Mac on any number of days, including several where he was outed as the tentacle-slapping Kraken, then they likely would have won.

If the Corrupt Remnant had chosen to kill Mac with the many chances they had, then the Civs could have won.

When Epi was the Champion for a couple of days (you know - the part of his role he didn't tell you about that was the Civ vigilante whose kills failed on Civs!) he chose to keep hiding away at the top edge of the map instead of finding a baddie (maybe one who is hard to lynch?) and killing them.

In the first game in the series, Mafia: A World Apart, the Civs would have won if they hadn't allowed themselves to be fooled by a cheap illusion and a fast-talking baddie who convinced them he was unlynchable with only the power of his words.

In Mafia: A World Reborn, the Civs had a fine chance to win. They were just outplayed by the baddies.

The mistakes in this game weren't balance issues. They were: 1. Outting DH early, 2. Allowing the Jagged Blade to choose to out their whole team (I should have host-interfered with that), and 3. Flight rules provided too much valuable info to the fliers.

I look forward to analyzing GOC 2018, which is clearly a paragon of balance.

Re: Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Day 13]

Ascension

The Kraken had been submerged deep in the darkest ocean trench for some time, spreading out its incomprehensible tentacles across the Realm, until its evil influence could be felt from the Pool of Moonlight to the corrupted Healing Spring. The Realm's disintegration was accelerating, with the dark goddess obliterated, and the Eternal Essence seeping away, but the Kraken was holding it together through sheer will and legendary power. Rising to the surface, the Kraken roared a challenge to the heavens, cursing the cowardly indifference of the gods.

Hearing the unearthly bellows, the Savage Pixie had finally decided to come out of hiding, though she knew in her heart that it was too late. As she approached the grotto where the Kraken had risen, she was awestruck at how massive it truly was. She opened her skirt pocket to check on the tiny Toxic Frog, careful not to touch her poisonous skin. "Well, froggy," she said with more hope than confidence, "Here goes nothing!"

She burst forth and brandished her glinting silver dagger, shouting at the top of her lungs, "KRAKEN! Monster, I will cut you open for the damage you have inflicted upon this Realm!" She darted forward and leapt onto the Kraken's rubbery hide, stabbing with her tiny blade at the massive behemoth.

The Kraken looked startled. "What? I'm the only thing - ow! Stop stabbing me!" The Pixie paused. "I'm the only thing holding this Realm together! I can't keep it up, I need - I need help!"

The Pixie furrowed her brow. He sounded genuine. Then a gravelly voice spoke up.

"Don't listen to his lies!" The Living Statue, Fabled Protector, strode forward, his marble body reformed after a generation of being broken and separated. "It's the Kraken that seeks to ruin this world!"

The Kraken roared, retracting a great tentacle from its hold on the Realm's fabric to crush the Statue once and for all. Dharmahelper's eyes widened, and he wondered if even his invulnerability could stand up to such and awesome tentacle slap. That slap was never delivered, however, because without the Kraken holding on, the Realm finally lost cohesion, becoming less a Realm, and more a bunch of rocky chunks floating in ethereal non-space.

S~V~S and Dana scrambled to hold on as it all came apart, their hearts plummeting into despair that anything would ever be all right again. They blinked in confusion as a cat swam past, seeming quite content, paddling its paws through the swirling aether as it moved to whatever point its curiosity drove it next. "Cat!" shouted Dana. "Help us! Isn't there anything you can do?"

"Mrrrrow," purred Quin. "I seem to recall that I had something, but I buried it. Perhaps it could have helped, but perhaps it was no more than a ball of yarn..." S~V~S and Dana stared, unblinking and expressionless, as he floated by. "...I can't really remember anymore. If you'll excuse me, there's a small leaf blowing over yonder that requires my attention..."

Mac reached out to grab DH before he floated away, but the Statue was just out of reach. Mac roared once again, in rage and frustration, and suddenly, a pair of glowing blue eyes regarded them, replacing the inky, swirling darkness that had been there a moment before. Long Con gazed upon them, appearing so huge as to make them seem like small toys, their Realm but a game.

"Your efforts to hold on to your Realm impress me, Kraken," said Long Con approvingly. "Like you, I have no desire to see this Realm obliterated. My time here has given me a certain fondness for the players of the game, as it were." His golden skin gleamed and sparkled as a broad smile spread across His face. "The Realm is now yours, and it is you. I shall graft your powerful essence to the fabric of this reality, and you shall last as long as it does, bound to it, your essence shaping it as it ascends..."

The Kraken's eyes widened, and Mac stammered, "Wait, I just... what are you doing?" His rubbery black skin began to glow white, and all the chunks of Realm that floated in the nothing around him began to glow as well. The Savage Pixie and the Toxic Frog shrieked as the energy consumed them, and they disintegrated. The glow spread from each piece, growing like a living organism, joining with the Kraken and increasing in brightness as the entire Realm rose out of the depths that Dark Willow's soul had conjured, until a bright and shining new sky hung above a shining newborn reality.

Long Con nodded. "Let's see if we can do this right this time," he said, satisfied, and turned to leave, and to contemplate the changes that this Realm had wrought.

Almanpeus looked down at the Living Statue, like a chess piece in her crystal hand. She gazed deep into his soul, once orderly and stoic, now broken and re-broken enough times to resemble a chaotic shard of faceted gemstone. She smirked as she thought of how he had focused the power of chaos and sent the prayer for a Cataclysm that she had answered. Good times. No point in sacrificing a valuable piece like this, she thought, as she placed him down upon the newly-minted Realm.

The Jagged Blade (and the Quintessential Cat) have won Mafia: A World Asunder! Congratulations to MacDougall, juliets, speedchuck, Tranq, and Quin!

Re: Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Night 12]

To All Things, an End

Long Con stood once more among His peers in the heavenly pantheon. Alongside massive and perfect marble pillars, the deities laughed and bellowed and gave joyful toasts in celebration. Even Almanpeus sighed and welcomed Long Con back. Photonic thrushes made of shimmering light trilled perfect harmonies, and the skies themselves burst forth in Aurora Universalis, glowing all hues, shades, and colours.

A pair of huge mahogany doors marked the main entrance to the Awesome Hall where the celebration was being held, and it was these doors that began to darken ominously, and strange irresonant vibrations cut through the air. The thrushes quieted, and the gods gritted their teeth and cast an annoyed gaze toward the entrance just as the doors were completely consumed with black lightning and shadow. They held that way for just a moment, a deep black vibrating void, before the doors burst explosively out, shattering into millions of splinters. Through the doorway floated Dark Willow, a column of dark mist billowing in behind her.

"Long Con!" she shouted acidly. "You have ruined my Realm! How could you--- how dare you?!" She clenched her fists, and the marble floor beneath her feet cracked.

Long Con smirked, his glowing blue eyes showing amusement. "Come now, you have had your fun. It is time to end this experiment... this charade."

"Charade?" she snarled. "This Realm is all I have!"

"Not the Realm," He said evenly. "You."

She snapped her mouth shut and regarded him through narrowed eyes. Taking a deep breath, she stepped closer to Him. "You can't do that. I earned this... I deserve this!"

"Do you?" He asked. "Look at your Realm. Even before it started coming apart, it was coming apart. You know it. You have seen the deep flaws in it."

"I have," she said steadily, "and I will change things. I will fix it!"

"You cannot," said Almanpeus, "For the flaws in the Realm are the flaws within you. You will never be able to create a healthy world, because you are too broken."

"How dare you?" Willow said again, and it was the last thing she ever said, because as she moved to attack Almanpeus, Long Con gestured in her direction and she turned to dust.

He took a deep breath and looked down to the Realm that was coming apart faster than ever.

"They're still fighting down there," said Scintala. "Fighting for the right to exist."

"What are you going to do?" said Almanpeus to Long Con.

Long Con looked long and hard at the Realm.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Day 12 Lynch

Paternal Judgment

colonialbob fared better than most in the Realm during this seeming apocalypse. He had cobbled together a sturdy traveling pod that siphoned geothermal energy and converted it to antigravitrons. He floated nimbly above the roiling landscape, dodging lava geysers and temporal anomalies easily. He floated from square to square, sometimes stopping and activating an Aegis Proton Field while he gathered supplies. Sometimes, he gathered supplies from folks who still wanted to keep them, and bob really enjoyed when that happened, because it meant he got to try out one of his many murder machines.

Eventually, though, karma catches up to you, and there's not an invention in the world that can help you when that happens. Which is not to say that bob hadn't tried. Four different builds on devices designed to increase positive luck matrices while scattering an Kedron Ethical Null Field, and a small pocket Probability Inducer as well, but their field-tested functionality was disappointing.

He had just finished liberating a group of cliffdivers of their valuables, when a rift opened between the material world and the spirit realm. Bob froze, wide-eyed, in disbelief at the figure standing before him. Gladius Mechaspark, his father, looking resplendent in his classic top hat and many-pocketed jacket.

"Son," he said, his voice sad. "You disappoint me. Our inventions are supposed to inspire, to help those around us. You have only used your genius for selfish gain."

"Father," cried bob. "This is not the same kind of world you lived in! Things are different! Harsher! I had to-"

"What?" laughed Gladius. "Things are basically the same as when I was alive! Good, evil, murders, lynches, no son... the failing is yours and yours alone. And now," he held up a metal box with a large antenna, "My final invention will end your evil ways."

At the push of a button, metallic arms lurched forth from the rift, frighteningly quick, sparking green nodes on the ends. They formed a box around bob, lines of green energy arcing between them, trapping him in place.

"I call it a Neuroplasmic Enchephavoltron, but my crew has taken to calling it the Soul Extractor." bob began to shriek as a the machine tore his soul from his body. "I think we've worked out all the kinks. If you can take any notes on the experience, it would be really helpful."

colonialbob has been lynched! He was Thaddeus Mechaspark, a member of the Corrupt Remnant.

It is now Night 12. I'll end it a few hours earlier than this tomorrow.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Night 11

One Thing Left

With the departure of the Shaper of Realities, the Realm had been thrown into absolute chaos. Forces like gravity and time, once taken for granted as immutable, were unravelling. Large chunks of landscape were floating many metres from the ground, hot lava boiling up from deep Cataclysmic scars. Time-lost creatures wandered the Realm, the Beautiful Beast, the Seductive Ghoul, and some even stranger.

Sabie wandered the wilderness, just trying to keep her footing, trying to find some place of stability. She happened upon a young woman, with jet-black hair, looking panicked and furious. As Sabie drew closer, she could hear the woman speaking.

"What is this? This is an outrage, how dare He? How dare they?" Black lightning crackled around her, when she took notice of Sabie. "Seer!" she shouted venomously, lifting a hand and grasping Sabie with tendrils of lightning.

She brought Sabie close to her face. "Seer, tell me my future!"

Sabie struggled in pain. "I... I see nothing! There is but a void ahead, one that AAAIIIGGH!!" She cried out as the tendrils squeezed her.

"Very well," said the woman. "Then there's only one thing left to do." She cast her gaze skyward and tossed sabie aside, where she passed out.

Sabie never woke up, because a baddie stabbed her unconscious body. Baddies don't have ethics and stuff. Awful.

Sabie12 has been killed! She was the Blind Seer, a Civilian.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Day 11 Lynch

Glory Released

The deeper beasts that the people wished to banish hid away that day, in the deep and dark places, but they would not be satisfied until blood was spilled. Epignosis stoically took the rotten vegetables and feces that were flung at him as he was marched, naked and beaten, through the town. Surrounded by hateful faces and violent cries, he was pushed forward, feet hobbled by chains and bleeding from the sharp cobblestones, to the last place he would see in this Realm.

His hands were roughly yanked above his head, and bound to a long pole. His feet, oto, were fixed to the pole, and he was raised high, anguish distorting his face. A wicked curved blade was produced, rusty and covered in dried and dark stains. The crowd cheered and jeered as the executioner jammed the blade into Epignosis' crotch, slowly dragging it upward until it met his rib cage.

Suddenly the crowd fell silent, as pure white light began to pour forth from Epi's split torso. His entire body strained upward, splitting open more, and a figure began to emerge. Many in the crowd fell prone from extreme awe, and the rest fell to their knees, or simply stood, slack-jawed and uncomprehending. The figure had golden skin, and intense, glowing blue eyes. A double pair of magnificent wings unfurled, and the figure's might radiated outward doubly.

Finally free of His imprisonment in Epignosis, the Avatar of Long Con, the Supreme Deity gazed around the Realm, seeing all, and a concerned look crossed His face. "This Realm is broken, flawed, and cannot continue...revel in your final days, residents of the Realm. Your purpose of existence is near fulfilled."

Epignosis has been lynched. He was the Avatar of Long Con.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Night 10

Fate Deconstructed

Enrique felt a constant thrill at the new life that surged within him. Since his resurrection, his priorities had been focused like never before. The true flow of the Lifeforce was everywhere; he could feel it now in everything. As he leapt through the waves, he relished the rush of the currents he broke through, and tasted every salty drop of spray as he soared through the air. He knew he had been brought back for a reason, and enrique was full of shining optimism and confidence that he would fulfil his destiny.

He couldn't have known that his feelings, his beliefs, were inconsequential, by this time. Not only was the Realm crumbling physically, but the intangible threads that guided the fates of all the Realm's inhabitants were fraying and snapping at an alarming rate. Enrique's destiny twisted and soured before it could even blossom, as a skillfully-thrown harpoon flew from the shore and pierced his stomach in midair. As he hit the water, the force tugged the barbed weapon free, spilling his guts out into the water.

As enrique writhed and twisted in agony, he could feel his shark brothers and sisters beginning to close in around him, attracted from miles away by the scent of his blood. Deep within his mind, he grinned grimly and nodded, understanding that what came next was one of the most beautiful and sacred rituals of his people. The sharks closed in, ripping and tearing at enrique, whose agony doubled.

Just then, a rift opened beneath the water, crackling with purple energy, creating a deep and irresistable vortex, sucking enrique, the sharks, and everything else in the vicinity into a bottomless whirlpool. As he disappeared from the Realm forever, enrique thought, "What is happening to this world?!"

enrique has been killed! He was Sakana Sashimi, a Civilian.

Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Night 10]

Tenth Night

"There he is," said Scintala, Goddess of Light and Luck. "At least, it's part of him." She frowned. "Why isn't he back up here though?"

"He is still bound to the Realm," observed Almanpeus. "Really, most of the Realm's power was devoted to that singular purpose. My Cataclysm seems to have significantly weakened that state. The Realm is crumbling now, it won't last much longer."

"Should we go and help him?" Scintala was perplexed.

"He could help himself!" Almanpeus, too, wasn't sure what she was seeing. "Surely, he simply... simply chooses not to! Can it be that He actually feels some connection to the creatures here?"

"Not that one, apparently," Scintala pointed down at speedchuck, whose Force powers were not enough to hold back the torch-waving mob that was after him.

As Turnip Head was led to the gallows, he reflected upon his short reanimation, and the meaning he had found in it. Just getting to see the other members of the Corrupt Remnant one last time - drinks, and stories, and memories all along, until the guardsmen had come to respectfully lead him away.

Turnip Head stood, and cleared his throat. "I'm glad I got to enjoy this experience with you all, one last time. I'm glad I got to see the New Year. New Years is a special kind of holiday, I think. While other holidays ask us to believe in some pretty crazy things - ghost and goblins, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus - New Years only asks us to believe in the future." He raised his glass to the gathering, and every glass was raised in response. "So, here's to the future!" And he downed his beer.

Turnip Head has been lynched! He was the Trickster, a member of the Corrupt Remnant.

Night 9 has begun.

Re: Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Day 9]

Speaking of Items, your Night Poll last night revealed this:

Helm of the Juggernaut - Your night actions cannot be blocked or protected against while wearing this helmet.

Wind Mask - Allows underwater movement at a rate of 2. Increases land movement by a rate of 1.

Soul Net - Catch one of the Spirit Wrangler’s spirits. Single Use.

Dark Leprechaun’s Shillelagh - The holder of this will automatically win any coin flip situation, and has a 50% chance of surviving a nightkill attempt.

Coma Tincture - Slip this to the player of your choice to make them appear dead for exactly one phase, during which they will be off the poll, and unable to vote, use powers, be targeted, or speak in the thread (except in dead red). Single Use.

Blink Whistle - Summon another player to your square. Single Use.

Devil’s Compass - Can direct the wielder to the Item of their choice. If the Item is within range, the wielder knows the exact square. If the Item is out of range, then the wielder knows the square that gets them closest to the Item, even if that square is not accessible.

Golden Drop - The Host will tell you all there is to know about a Game Secret. This information cannot be falsified by any power in the game. Single Use.

Bronze Spiral - The wielder accepts a Dwindling Curse for a diminishing protection. Each day decreasing. Starts at 7 extra votes, and a 70% chance to avoid harmful night actions. Next day, 6 and 60%, and so on.

Thunder Gavel - Wielder may stop one lynch. Single Use.

Honey Pot - The wielder of the Honey Pot can store the value of a vote inside the pot, making a seeming vote worth zero. The vote can be released during any Day phase, at which time a public announcement will be made that a player has an extra vote on them.

Gamma Bomb - Hits everyone in a 2-square radius. 25% chance of killing them, 25% chance of roleblocking them, 25% chance of nullifying their items, and 25% chance of giving them extra powers. Single Use.

Neuroptic Synnector - Everyone within 2 squares shares BTSC while this is activated. Two charges.

Moon Dew - Can resurrect a player. Single Use.

Medicinal Herb - Cures poison. Single Use.

Crown of Thorns - The player who dons the Crown will take all votes for Civilians onto themselves, and they will resurrect three days later if they are lynched. Single Use.

Book "The Followed" - See which role is getting you as a possible target in a ranged ability

Luck Charm - Win all coin flips

Mafia: A World Asunder - Night 8

Morning

Cyrillian D'Abrutsi looked back on his time in the Realm, reflecting as he watched the horizon appear off in the darkness, a thin, nearly imperceptible line of light at first, but growing stronger by the second. He nodded to himself, tired and aching, but he had made it through another night. Another night full of regrets, sad images welling up from a memory that was far from complete, and empty wine bottles.

He looked around, dimly aware that he had heard a soft whisper of noise in the room behind him, but he saw nothing. His imagination? Frowning, he noticed a blue glass bottle sitting on the countertop. How had he missed it before? He walked over and picked it up, popping the cork and inhaling. It smelled good. Possibly better wine than his usual cheap stuff.

Tranq poured himself a glass and sat back down, taking a long sip, draining half the glass in a few seconds. As the glowing horizon spread, a new sun dawned and shone its warmth down onto Tranq's face. He could feel the warmth, and it felt nice, peaceful, relaxing. He slipped into a permanent sleep, freed finally from the cycle of regrets that plagued him by the poison he had ingested. As his heart beat its last, the assassin slipped out the back door into a bright new day.

* * * * *

The Glint Viper is a curious creature, whose relationship with life and death is unique among most lands. Able to appear very dead for long periods of time, only to reanimate at will. Even stranger, the Glint Viper is instinctively guided to sacrifice its own life to literally return another from the dead.

The Glint Viper coiled around enrique's body tightly, and began to glow softly. The glow became brighter, and brighter, becoming a shining white light that would have been impossible to look at directly, had anyone been there. An enormous flash, and then the light disappeared completely.

The Glint Viper's body was a dried husk, still coiled around enrique's corpse. At first, nothing, but then the body began to twitch and move, and then it split apart, the rot falling away, and a hand reaching up from within. Gasping for air, a rejuvenated enrique crawled up and out of his old body, rolling over in exhaustion and blinking in the bright morning sunlight.

Tranq has been killed! He was D'Abrutsi, a member of the Jagged Blade.

Lorab has sacrificed her life to resurrect enrique!

It is now Day 9.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Day 8 Lynch

How To Lynch Your Dragon

Steely scales glistening in the setting sun's red light, Chevuschade Voidwing flapped his powerful wings, propelling himself upward above the small village, only to flip gracefully around to dive again, deep red flames shooting from his maw and immolating another large swath of buildings. Spears and spells flew up, bouncing off the dragon's hard scales without any effect.

"What are we going to do?" cried the head guardsman. "The war wizards are useless, and we might as well be throwing toothpicks at him!"

"I don't know, I'm the mayor of a village of 85 people," cried the mayor, "I don't usually have to make any real decisions!"

Just then, the whole area began to shake, as a Cataclysm aftershock rumbled through the area. The ground beneath their feet crumbled, and they and the whole village were sucked down into a roiling pit of lava. Blasting upward from the chaotic pit came five enormous lava tentacles, whipping up to envelop the dragon as he swooped down for another destructive blast. Shrieking, timmer was pulled beneath the lava, just another victim of the increasing instability of a Realm that had been broken once too often...

timmer has been lynched! He was Chevuschade Voidwing, a member of the Corrupt Remnant.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Night 8

The Cycle of Life

The Champion stood atop a mossy crag, heroically casting his gaze across the Realm. He could feel the pages of destiny turning for him, and he knew that his time was almost nigh. Connected to the Realm and those of good spirit, his heart ached as he saw insertnamehere and Colin getting cut down by the growing threat of the evil groups that were growing in power.

More interesting to him, though, was a spark of life where there had been none before. Lorab? Alive? Was it some sort of miracle, or merely a natural wonder in this mystical Realm?

ColinisCool has been killed! He was the Frost Knight, a Civilian.

insertnamehere has been killed! He was D'Abrutsi, a Civilan.

Lorab has come back to life!

It is now Day 8.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Lynch Day 7

Entering Endgame?

Dark Willow seethed at the entropy that seemed to be engulfing her dear Realm. The Cataclysm had smashed the crap out of it, and now her most beloved beings were getting squeezed out by the sheep and fearful goodmongers that had cropped up after a generation like cockroaches. Even now, they were hanging speedchuck, dear Darth Malignus, by the neck.

Even worse, she could feel the bonds binding the Elder God, Long Con, to her Realm were weakening at an alarming rate. She could feel Him, so close to awareness. When he realized who He was, there would be little she could do to stop Him. Pragmatic and intelligent, she decided to move to a different, more drastic, plan.

Cul-Thezn was easy. The foolish god had manifested his essence within the Realm, and the moment he did that, her power over him had become irresistible. It was a mere nothing to her to appear suddenly before him, who thought his schemes and plans amounted to anything. She placed a hand on his forehead, and at the same moment speedchuck's neck broke, she scattered Cul-Thezn's essence across an entire square. His divine shriek echoed through the Realm to points beyond, and as his glowing atoms settled across the miles, beautiful mushrooms grew and covered the mountainside and valley, a fitting dedication to a god who was never all that relevant.

speedchuck has been lynched! He was Darth Malignus, a member of the Jagged Blade.

Night 7 has begun, and it will last maybe 23 hours? Who knows. Get those PMs in.

Mafia: A World Asunder - Day 7 Lynch

Disjunction

Cul-Thezn, God of Fungus, was growing frustrated. His divine senses had not been able to locate the Elder God, Long Con, still hidden somewhere in this pathetically small Realm. That was not altogether surprising, for it was the same result he had been getting when watching the Realm from above. Whatever unholy sorcery had been used to suck the Shaper of Realities down here was still active, still hiding Him, pinning Him here.

The frustrating part was that his plan B was equally unhelpful. Cul-Thezn thought that by enlisting the darker agencies of the Realm, he could discover what he needed to know through a web of mortal eyes. But even now, as they tortured the shrieking sharkman, Enrique, to death, there were no more answers forthcoming. Not to say that he hadn't found some interesting things out from Sakana, but nothing he could use.

He could even sense a temporal disjunction ahead, but it was a minor one, just a small ripple in the greater scheme...

* * * * *

Other forces were in play that night, forces of the cycle of life and death, of emotional upheaval and inescapable destiny. "Her. It is her time." The voice was indicating Sorsha, who, quite unaware of the larger currents flowing through the Realm, didn't see it coming.

A blinding beam of white struck Sorsha from above, sucking the lifeforce out of her, and continued disintegrating her body long after her soul had been evacuated. There was nothing left of her to identify.

enrique has been killed! He was Sakana Sashimi, a Civilian.

Sorsha has been killed!

It is now Day 7. You have 48 hours-ish to lynch someone.

A Realm Story
Spoiler: show
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the Realm
A lynch was beginning, Long Con at the helm

Sakana Sashimi carolled with his gills
The Frost Knight made snowflakes, while feeling no chills
The Kraken wrapped presents, eight tentacles taping
The Pixie hung garland, with thoughts of escaping

Chevuschade Voidwing helped light up the sky
While Thaddeus Mechaspark made toys on the fly
D'Abrutsi worked double, and pulled an all-nighter
The Seer lit a candle, rememb'ring Lamplighter

When all of a sudden, there arose such a clatter
And Civvies and baddies alike went to scatter
He burst through the clouds, hooves pounding the air
Santa Claus in his sleigh, drawn by reindeer in pair

He leapt out as he landed, boots cracking the ice
And he brought out a list, which he checked over twice
Cleared his throat, "Now, don't see me as overly haughty,
But it seems DDL is especially naughty!"

"I'd normally leave him a handful of coal,
But the crimes he's committed - he forfeits his soul!
Pour me a hot chocolate, cinnamon, just a pinch,
And let's go about finalizing this lynch!"

DDL squirmed and sweat, his mortality waning
The votes piled up, and no one was complaining!
"Time to leave!" he decided, and he opened a door
From the square he was in, to some place from before

Toxic Frog ribbited, "He's gone through a Portal!"
But the kindly old elf, with a wink and a chortle
Said "The magic of Christmas will prevail yet
I hope DDL doesn't mind getting wet!"

A magical sparkle, and a twitch of his nose,
And the portal's egress became one that he chose
Coming out on A10, with no ground to land on
He sputtered and drowned, and then he was gone.

Santa laughed, and a sparkle did dance in his eye
as he said, "Now it's time for ol' Santa to fly
I hope that you Civvies can just get things right
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Dragon D Luffy has been lynched! He was Portalman, a member of the Corrupt Remnant.

It's now a Christmas-extended Night 6. Merry Christmas!
This is a masterpiece

Lights Out

"Someone's out there," said the Scout Spirit. "Please, you have to move along!"

sloonei nodded. "I hear you, little spirit, but I can take care of myself!" He unholstered his gun and kept a keen eye on all relevant danger points along the camp.

"They don't want you dead," wisped the Warding Spirit. "But I cannot protect you from the evil heart, only from the blistering noose..."

sloonei grinned wryly. "I'm here to defeat the evil hearts, Wardy, bring 'em on!"

The Warding Spirit looked dismayed, and floated up. sloonei kept a sharp eye out for danger, but was blindsided by evil magic. His breath seized as black tendrils grasped his heart, and the spirits floated, swirled, and mourned.

* * * * *
sprityo had taken the golden idol from its pedestal, but on his way out of the temple. things had begun to fall apart, somewhat Cataclysmically. Each room he went through seemed to attack him, angry that he would dare to plunder their treasures. Giant blocks of stone fell from the ceiling as he dodged nimbly around them. Poison-tipped arrows flew from round wall-holes, and sprityo tucked and rolled like a champ. Through all obstacles and booby-traps, he persevered.

That's why it was all the more tragic when he finally made it out, only to find himself face-to-face with a team of assassins, tasked with ending his life.

* * * * *
Jack was forlorn, despairing... Hungry. Cursed beyond the capacity to say, he tried finally to appease the beast that gnawed his innards, but felt his hands freeze up. He thought back to all the great victories he had had in the past, regretting his decision to enter such a cursed Realm. Retching, heaving, he tried to take flight just once, more, but fell to the earth, his flame extinguished, for now. Truly, such a man is difficult to keep down forever.

sloonei has been killed! He was the Spirit Wrangler, a Civilian.

sprityo has been killed! He was Grimlock Wolverson, a Civilan.

Jack has succumbed to the Hunger, and died! He was Lamplighter, a Civilan.

Day 6 has begun. May God have mercy on all our souls.
