We went to Washington, DC to visit Logan (llama) a few years back. It was a great trip.

Re: Meetups
Here's one in myrtle beach - https://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p7004067 for dates June 4-11, it would only be $3,300 or a little over $200 a person if 16 go which is how many it sleeps.

Re: Meetups
This is my alternative to a cruise which we cannot afford. A cruise would be $450-$550 for 4-5 days per person so we would have to pay 5 times that. But if we did something like this then Epi and I could get away with just paying around $500 total So I understand SVS. If you want to look for a cheaper route, by all means, you are welcome to.

Re: Meetups
Okay y'all, it's February and we need to start planning a meet-up for this summer before everything is booked! What about this idea? Here is a 5 bedroom house in Jacksonville Beach, FL. There are several others like these, some more expensive than others. This one in particular would be $3,249 for the week of June 20th - June 27th. Split among 14 people, that's under $250 per person for the week. Epi is going to put up a poll so you can vote if you are interested and you can tell me when you are available. But we have to work fast as many of these places are booking up already.

Re: Meetups
If you get motion sickness, don't get a room at the front of the boat. And...if a cruise is not the best option, we can always just plan to meet up at a specific hotel/beach and and hang out together for a week. I want to go here sometime soon:

Re: Meetups
I think the links I gave had all of March and April's cruise dates. Feel free to discuss when is best for everyone And if you want to post a different cruise, go for it. I was just trying to get the ball rolling.nijuukyugou wrote:According to the Almighty School Calendar, my spring break is the last week in March, so I wouldn't be able to do anything big in April. Re: Meetups
You may have mentioned it as well, but Epi also mentioned it while we were at lunch with Niju, MM, Mongoose, and Llama this past Saturday. I told Mongoose I would look into it I've done my part, now I need others to comment and help plan.G-Man wrote:I think I may have been the one to mention a cruise, but I offered that suggestion in jest.
My wife and I aren't planning any major vacations until 2017 at the earliest but if any of you fine folk make it up to our neck of the woods, you're more than welcome to pop in for a visit.

Re: Meetups
Okay, so I am not sure on what would work best for everyone, so I found these two cruises. They are both for spring 2016. I was thinking either the April 15th date for the 5 day cruise out of Charleston, SC or the April 10th date for the 4 day cruise out of Port Canaveral, FL. Of course, prices will change according to when we all decide to book and what not. But, I figure discussion has to start somewhere. I would love to be able to do this and for LOTS of us to go. I want to meet more of you

Thanks As soon as I found out that Alex and Annie were getting married, I got the idea for the cake and messaged Annie to see if I could make it for Alex as a surprise.Ricochet wrote:dat prog cake
I take it the bride wasn't stolen? It's a very annoying "tradition" over here.
And no, she wasn't stolen. I've not heard of this tradition. Please share!

Re: Meetups
Here is a link to my facebook album for our Ohio trip to Alex and Annie's (Moving Pictures and spacedaisy's) wedding. I've made the album public so you can all see, but feel free to add me as a friend on fb too. And if you have any pictures of your own to add, feel free to do so! We all had so much fun meeting/seeing everyone. You are all such wonderful people! Some of us talked about having another meetup around New Years. We talked about perhaps going on a cruise! I am going to look into it and post links here
