It's more that she gives me pause in that she listened to Mongoose and was willing to move her vote so it makes me question my read of her. Day 1 is always a hard read for me, I doubt myself a lot. And Mac is so adamant.

Based on very recent posts, I’m beginning to believe I should not be voting Luna. You’re right, day one is hard.

Indiglo, lord I suck at stating things clearly. I see several people who keep coming to the others aid, specifically Luna, Nutella, Mongoose ( only once). Then I see people who don’t take notice of their interactions at all (complete distancing), and people who challenge them or even vote them (if they were teammates, it would be a cover, sort of). These people I call reverse connections and they are much harder to make decisions about). I really don’t want to cast a wrong vote, so I’m waiting as long as I can. But if I had to vote now, it would probably be for Luna or Nutella.

To clarify - by reverse connections, you mean that you feel those people are NOT connected to each other?

People who argue with or even vote the connected people to put distance between them. Like busing a teammate.

Lunalee, you said that you find Nutella’s scum hunting instincts to be spot on. She voted for me, but you think I’m town in your smilie list. If you aren’t following Nutella’s instinct, can you tell me what Mongoose posted that makes her stand out? Is it following your own instincts about Mongoose?
Also, you said that you don’t agree with Rey’s posts so far, but which ones please?

Luna Owner here but not here???

I really don’t know what I’m doing anymore, but I am wondering amost about Nutella and Luna. That’s all I have so far.

I made a list of impressions, well, I started one, when I realized that I was judging by standards from five or more years ago. Mafia tactics and individual playing styles change so I’m really out of the loop here.
These are the things I used to consider in the early days of a game:
Old standards- aggression, creating confusion, hiding
Older standards- creating questionable suspicion on someone, and having a teammate eventually second it, subtly defending an accused teammate and have another mate deflect by throwing attention elsewhere.
None of this is going to help me have a certainty about someone’s innocence or guilt. I may wind up looking at players I think are hiding, like, in plain sight. (Hiding doesn’t necessarily mean absent or being quiet)

Thank you for your input. I haven’t been taking any of the day 0 and 1 posts seriously, I thought it was joking all around. But I’ll try to post my first impression thoughts tomorrow.

Let me rephrase that. Is that a diversionary tactic that JJJ (as mafia) would use?

That’s okay, I don’t mind getting voted. It’s been a long time since I played, but you might remember me as someone who never explains things well, that hasn’t changed lol.
I remember you as someone who was always on the offense early in games, and it was never indicative of being town or mafia.
Can you tell me what you think about JJJ? His making snap decisions, and naming off a variety of players, is that a diversionary tactic that mafia would use? Or is it him just being silly?

I am tending to agree so far. I feel worse about Mata though. That whole "I like how you think" thing was just weird. I don't understand how she thinks it's worthwhile to say that if she doesn't mean she agrees with Jay, and I find it hard to believe she didn't think it would be taken that way. It was an unnecessary post that she unnecessarily backpedaled on, and all the while she could have been forming original reads instead.

It appears that you and Luna both think the same way. Let me ask you this, since the concept of liking the way a person arrives at a conclusion without necessarily agreeing with that conclusion is difficult to grasp, do you believe there is more than one way to achieve a goal?
If someone says “This is how I wash a window. This is the only right way.” Would you agree with them? Or would you think, hmm, that’s not how I wash windows, and my windows are clean.
If someone thinks a situation through, and explains their thought process (whether I agree with them or not), it may or may not be the same way I would think it through, but I can still appreciate their reasoning. I’m not going to say they have to think the same way that I think.

Matahari, usually when someone says, "I like the way you think," it means "I agree with your thought process." I have never been told "I like the way you think" followed with, "but I disagree with you."

Just saying this feels like a strange backwards progression in response to Jay's question. Was there something else Jay said that you agree with other than his indiglo suspicion?

In my case, it means I like the way he explained his thought process. I don’t have to agree with his or anyone’s conclusions, but it is nice to see how they arrived at those conclusions.
