Re: [END] Fight Club Mafia

oh yes I forgot to congratulate BR, unfurl, llama, bullz, SVS, daisy, russti and hedge for doing such a great job of keeping yourselves out of trouble, not making any mistakes. Whoever it was that commented on looking at BR because she said she was looking for LC in one of the cities was right on target. You guys did a great job and yay for your win!

Thank you, Timmer. This is why I generally dislike info roles. When you know someone is bad and have to kill them to win the game, it's really hard to discipline yourself not to just say so. I really tried to be as convincing as possible, but I still felt bad because I knew my case was weak and disingenuous.
llama, this is why i voted Kyle. We had you figured out as the PI, and voted with you on LC so even though there wasn't great evidence for Kyle I thought for sure you had checked him and he was bad. That was probably after you got recruited. After kyle didn't pan out I thought you maybe weren't the PI.

Re: [END] Fight Club Mafia

timmer you used good logic and thats all anyone can ask for. It's easy to miss something like LC having stayed in his location because of serious injury.

I liked the role of marla and tried so hard when I just had one message a night to Kate in the beginning. I used that one message to send her complete reports, even quoting some dialogue but certainly capturing everything that happened, about all 4 cities including who was in them on whatever day i was capturing, who fought from there , who won and who got hurt, seriously hurt, etc., in addition to the dialogue. I spent countless hours on this - and then found out my "narrator" had basically not been playing! (No offense to Kate she's got a lot of things that can get in the way of mafia). Luckily I got timmer as a narrator but he didn't have time really to read all the back notes and then many things came out in the open. Oddly, I don't even mind as I saw doing all that as just a part of the role. I loved all the comments directed to marla while I was lurking. You just didnt know I couldnt talk.

timmer was great at the decodings and we knew a lot of stuff that we tried to use. We caught on to spacedaisy as the game was ending because she had stayed in one place days 2-5 (day 5 picked on night 4) and we knew from the missions they had to stay in one place for 4 nights. Unfortunantly, that also told us she was not tyler. I thought timmer gave the best guess he could give. If i had been there I probably would have wanted to guess unfurl since she always appears so sweet and has theories.

Thanks MP for the very intriguing and fun game. I think I agree with you that maybe instead of modkilling the player should have received one vote and progressed on from there for missing a vote or not participating. Roxy wouldnt have been modkilled under those parameters I don't think. Don't know about the others. But all in all it was a great game and I enjoyed it very much. You can tell a lot of work went into it.

Re: [DAY 9] Fight Club Mafia

I have thought about both Russti and Kyle and Long Con's case, plus the fact that Kyle was with DH day 1, plus the fact that when I read Kyle's posts as a whole they sound somewhat disingenuous (especially the post where he outlined the game and then asked if that was correct, made me think he wanted us to think he was a little slow on the uptake) leads me to vote for Kyle. Kyle hasn't responded to llama's case which bothers me a little but he could be avoiding it (he's not one of the ones who's out of town is he?) So, I hope I'm right -

I'll hold off another few minutes hoping Kyle checks in.

Since we're giving our whereabouts this weekend, in exactly 40 minutes i will be going to get my hair done which will take a couple of hours and then tonight i'm going to YAY THE FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON! I will be in and out around those things, probably spending time re-reading timmers points. Some I already agree with like Keterman. And Hedgie. The only thing is just because someone wasn't recruited before doesn't mean they aren't recruited now which scares me.

Do we want to talk about who wants to fight and who out of those we want to vote for? I would prefer to vote for anyone who lost a fight the first time and wants to fight during this next day. Or if there is anyone that wants to fight that hasn't. Otherwise, I will vote for people that i lean civ on who want to fight. Who is out there who wants to fight and can you give your fight history when you volunteer? That will help me (and maybe others) a lot. Re: [DAY 8] Fight Club Mafia

I was hoping I had given Keterman enough time to answer but I must not have so i could see the other side of the story. So I have finally decided to vote Long Con for this lynch. I think if he is not Tyler he makes an excellent Tyler recruit - smart as a whip, excellent player, able to talk himself out of anything usually (at least thats my opinion). Also, I've been thinking a lot about his Unified Theory that I thought was excellent. The thing that bothers me though, and I just realized this, is it is so detailed it rings of having some truth to it. And if it is true, how would he know so much about it? (Just as a note, I'm actually not voting him over the truncated post). Anyway, I have wrestled with this decision and I'm going to be terribly sorry if it's wrong but I think he's the closest suspicion I have today so I'm

voting LC

Re: [DAY 8] Fight Club Mafia

Very interesting LC. I see you took part of my vote post but didn't bother to take the whole thing because well, it looks stupider the way you chose to represent it. There is no context or comment. I wonder how many of the other vote posts you cut off part of the reason. Would a civ do that? Or an unrecruited policeman? I don't know, I'll sleep on it. And just for the record, here is the entire part of the post that had to do with my vote:

I do not have strong feelings about anyone this lynch. It just feels like an impossible task to me to find Tyler right now. There are some things I need to read through again I just dont have time before this lynch. Boogs already has votes calling him out for not being present in the game and I'm going to vote for Mr. Rearranger to prompt him to come out of the shadows and discuss or theorize or do anything frankly. I don't understand the change in him from the first part of the game to the second. I thought about voting Lea but I'm not quite ready to commit to her.

So Mr. R, where have you gone and would you please come back to the game?

Re: [DAY 8] Fight Club Mafia

Thats so funny you say that BR because I was just sitting here thinking "now how did Dom get lynched?" I too need to go back into that last lynch - I had to skim some parts and I think I must have missed the factor that made him suspicious, or it just didn't really stick with me.

On the fighting theories, I really like LC's. There's some player contribution and some randomness which to me helps explain why some people seem to know why the won or lost and others don't know, and then others say they know part of the reason or are not really sure if they know the reason. This doesn't seem to be one of those instances where someone is fudging the truth because there are too many people with conflicting thoughts about seemingly the same event.

With that said, I haven't yet fully assimilated the theory and can't decide how it's going to help us find Tyler. Maybe it just helps us rule out other theories like that maybe Canuck and unfurl are bad because they killed people. That's a theory i can't buy into because it would too easily point out who was bad and I don't think MP would choose to shine the spotlight on the baddies.

So good work LC, if you're theory is not true it at least sounds plausible and I'm buying it for the moment. :)

Wait what? Some people know how they won or how they lost. Other players do not know how they won or lost. It seems to me MP would want to make it a universal experience, unless someone not getting a pm accounts for them not knowing. I'm just having a hard time believing that some know and some don't. Have I misread what people are talking about?

Re: [NIGHT 7] Fight Club Mafia

RIP Dom and RIP Elochin. Two more unrecruited civs that more and more we can't afford to lose.

LC, I think you make a good point here. One of the tough parts about this game is when we have a situation like this it is almost impossible to tell whether there was a save for a policeman or a recruit/tyler. And of course it could be that it's not a save at all and the person is an unrecruited civ, but I do think it at least looks like a save. I just don't know what to do with it - suspect Boogs or not. I will look over his posts, most all of which are in the city threads (by the way, is anyone able to click on the number of responses for a city thread and bring up who has posted?) I also need to review llama but that will be much more time consuming. I will be in and out "today" as I am visiting family.
Long Con wrote:Ok, so after BWT and Dom had two votes each, Llama received three later votes to put him in the lead. Boogs was voter 21, voting directly after the 20th vote which was Llamas third. Long story short, Boogs may have intentionally saved Llama's life. Could be cops together, could be Project Mayhem together... Could mean the same thing for all we know.

Definitely looked like a save though.

Re: [DAY 6] Fight Club Mafia

At this point, since i ascribe to the theory that DH was recruited early and that tyler was in the thread, I'll probably vote one of the people in the thread with DH day 1. I'm not married to this way of finding somebody to vote for so if someone has a better idea I'm all ears. I'm not understanding the chicago element that unfurl is passionate about, I just can't think of a reason they would both go to chicago. Seems like, as someone else said, they would want to spread out. Also possible is I don't understand the point unfurl is making. I've found her to be very insightful in games where she is civ, even if she does call her theories paranoic :) .

Keterman is there anything specific you can add to this? What gave you the abysmal vibes?

Re: [DAY 6] Fight Club Mafia

unfurl, in your theory why would it be so important for tyler and dh to travel to chicago - or anywhere else - together? I'm probably missing a point in the theory.

I got the impression from MPs post at the start of the combined thread (day 5) that recruiting for project mayhem was over?

It is now Day 5. The game has entered its true phase. All roles have been updated appropriately.

All unrecruited Civilians are no longer independent. They are aligned with "Narrator" and must need Tyler Durden dead to win.
That's how I interpreted this anyway.

MP-Can Tyler still recruit players to Project Mayhem?
Sorsha, I looked at that same thing and the first thought that occurred to me was that the recruiting was done. But then I thought about this: there were 38 players that began this game. With 38 players you would normally see two mafia teams of 3 with the ability to recruit 1 or 2 teams of 4 and/or a SK. Assuming Tyler started recruiting night 1, he would have had 4+1(Tyler)=5 recruits at the time MP posted that message. That would make 5 baddies. I just don't think 5 baddies are enough in a 38 player game which is what led me to believe he is still able to recruit. Maybe there is some other mechanic at work here and I just don't see the full picture but for now I can't understand how MP would leave the baddies with only 5 (assuming of course DH hadn't died).

I have no idea who I'm going to vote for tomorrow but looking at those lists seems like a good way to me to find a baddie.
