Yes I absolutely remember. I'm always a bit suspicious in the beginning because I generally don't have reads day 0 and have a hard time day 1 as well. But you saw I was really town and so did nova and Colin.

Hey guys, I once again will be at work today only I will be home by 3:00 ish instead of 9 ish like last night. I may finish my nova ISO, though to be honest my heart isn't in it because I'm so convinced he's civ. Sloonei and nova I know you're in that other game as well so I don't really expect there will be much action in here today but we'll see.

Guys, I am off to work soon again and today is going to be just like yesterday. I probably won't get home until after night ends and I am dead. I quit nova's ISO on mid to late page 5 of his ISO if someone wants to pick it up. There are only 4 more pages to go. I am really convinced though it's llama. He is a tricky player and I think he pulled the wool over our eyes early in his game that stayed with us for awhile, so if I were alive tomorrow I would vote for him, but I'll be deaded over the course of this night. It's been (mostly) fun playing with you all.

Oh yay I see Mongoose was bad! Thanks to those of you who kept bringing her up and pushing her. She had me completely fooled until toward the end.

Oh my gosh you guys I just got home from work, what a brutal day. I see nova above saying he's going to re-read tonight so I guess the games not over. I'll catch up with who we lynched and whats going on.

She plays more defense than offense, which I associate with baddies because saying "I'm not bad" is easier than making a fake case on someone you know to be good. Also, the tone of a few of her posts has seemed contrived and inauthentic to me.

As for Mac, it's the exact opposite. He came in guns a blazing, not afraid to throw out "I'm positive x is bad" reads all over the place. He appears to have no concern about drawing attention to himself or trying to cover himself should he turn out to be wrong about anything. He throws caution to the wind. A particularly bold and confident baddie could potentially pull this off, but it's incredibly hard to do convincingly. If his teammate is Nova, then he has an ability to conjure up fake outrage and energy that I have rarely seen. If he is bad, I think Mongoose is more likely to be his teammate for this reason.

I'm having trouble turning my brain off. llama can you think of a game on this site where Mongoose was bad? I feel the need to see a comparison. Or a game where she was good - I can look to see if she is pounding out reads and making cases. You're right that she's blendy, and has an eagerness to please (which I associate strongly with Mongoose the person). I understand you associating playing more defense than offense with a baddie style but is it a Mongoose baddie style? I want to see that in action if possible.

I thiiiink I was bad in a game with Dev and Russti - Super Mario, probably in 2013. We won. I was also a baddie in the Six Feet Under with SVS and Sorsha. We did not win. Also around 2013.

Another question along this line: why are sloonei and nova still alive? I hate asking these questions but paranoia over the NK is killing me. Maybe I just need sleep.

I guess it seems like to me everyone who's not mafia should have the question in their mind "why Luna?" They picked her for a reason, else why not take out the civ who is trying to help solve the game.

Killing luna on Night 2 is frankly so predictable that I am dumbfounded that folks think a Mongoose/Llama team would consider something so basic.

It seems to me that killing me on Night 2 would have been the predictable move because I was participating all through the night and Luna was dormant. Luna was a surprise pick.

I think WAY TOO MUCH has been made of his first post. I don't think it's suspicious at all.

nova responds to dunya's early post about me being bad with an "I like that" and then voted me within 4 minutes. He really doesn't know me at all so I found that suspect. Meanwhile, he responds to Mac's "This is a mafia" post (about Sloonei) with an "I don't like this". Seemed a little early to be already discounting a mafia read on Sloonei. He explains he thinks Mac is emulating supa-town Mac, throwing hot takes out there when he wasn't really pinged even tho thats what Mac always does. I don't like that he jumped so hard at dunya's early speculative read of me and gave Mac grief for doing something he always does.

He had no idea at this point what I had done in Asunder, he is just going off what Sloonei said. He seems to be looking for an easy target.

This is the first thing about Mongoose that I could find, says he has a soft spot for her.

This was one of the earliest objections to Mac. Seems like I made the point at the time, which I'll now do again, this sounds like what Mac does in every game he plays. He doesn't really show development like nova is asking for.

nova was talking up the Mac vote on Day 1 while still parked on me. I don't know what to make of this. He didn't say a word about me after the very beginning of the game, and he didn't say much then.

On nova's pushing of Mac, he was meeting substantial resistance from dunya on his read he held firm. That reads civ for me. I would expect a baddie nova to eventually back away from this read but he's held onto it like a dog with a meaty bone.

I liked this exercise a lot. I don't see a baddie launching this because who knows where it could end up.

If we had tied them up and Luna survived we wouldn't have been sure whether she won the coin toss or used her extra vote. Even if I were to read Sloonei based on this EoD, I'd give him a town read. I don't see scum Sloonei being that sloppy, rather that's a sign of civ Sloonei that is hesitant. Your believes of Mafia afraid of a "townconfirmed" are greatly exaggerated.

Ok I'm a little more than halfway through nova so I'm going to end this post because it's getting long. I probably won't be able to post more until late this afteroon. On balance, I haven't seen enough to call him bad. I'm not wild about his Mac tunneling but Mac was doing the same thing to him. I think it's civ on civ, though if they are both bad kudos to them for such effective distancing. If Mongoose is bad, I think it's a good look for him because he started on her early and was consistent at least through what I have read so far. It did not feel like bussing to me.

I'm reticent to say this because it is going to make me look like an invertebrate, but I avoid poking the bear that is Llama unless I have really solid grounds. I'm not going to just poke him (Mac Style) unless I have something tangible. As we are flowing through the game, I haven't seen anything on its own that would make me do that, but that might very well be different with an ISO.

We've had a "dynamic past" with mafia games, where things can get pretty sour between us when we suspect each other in games (where it's made us fall out IRL for like a day), so I don't wrassle that beast without a serious arsenal of substance behind me.

Something that strikes me about this post - llama has been reading her bad or slightly bad since he entered the game. Now if their dynamic is as she says (underlined above, and I believe it is) would he risk the relationship based on the more vague feelings he had at the beginning of his game? I don't think so. I think it makes much more sense that they are in cahoots and thats why it's ok to read her as slightly bad right out of the shoot and then build on that suspicion as the game goes on until we get to his most certainly bad read on her of late. The plan is to buss her and then he can ride that to a win.

Also, I am completely convinced by Sloonei's post late last night that we are on the right track. I won't be here to vote for llama but he would be my choice over nova unless something big happens.

I voted for Mongoose. Mac is right, she's in everyone's POE so for now at least it seems like the right vote.

Mongoose, it may only be N2 but I think almost everyone has made the point that we (the civs) are now in a critical situation, and were in that critical situation before the Day 2 Lynch. One more lynched civ and the Mafia have won the game. Why would you use "The game is young" to explain why you haven't answered to llama's suspicions?

I am so used to side games (I don't think they are perhaps called this) and full games where it's not uncommon to have a slow build. This is literally the first heist I've ever played unless I played one many moons ago when they were new.

I probably meant to do a Luna iso/read and just ran out of time. That's been a real problem with a lot of things lately (not just mafia). I definitely owe you a Llama IsO/heavy read and I have not forgotten.

I misread the matrix at first as well. I haven't played this type of game in a couple of years. I agree it's worth considering, but I just can't believe a civ would have made the post I highlighted from Luna.

I also misread it. I was begging anyone early on in the game to explain how a matrix worked, so I didn't get it until literally the moment when i was posting such in the thread.

I've literally never seen matrix in a game before, so thought we used the whole 3x3 since they are nearly that many players (at the start anyway).

Mongoose, I am reading your ISO and didn't see any posts in the game where you are begging people to explain the matrix. Did I miss that? I'm worried that you maybe begged your partner in btsc to explain it to you.

it may have been the abbreviations I asked about instead. I didn't get the matrix until right around Luna did, which is why I believed her on that item. I still don't know what LYLO/MYLO stands for, but I think I know enough what it means. I figured out EOD easily enough, but there's the POE thing that I've still not managed to suss out that acronym. I figured out GTH means Go to Hell after I saw enough examples.

I'm still getting caught up on the thread, but I'm going to pause here for some yoga since I skipped yesterday.

Thanks Mongoose I'll go back to your ISO and see what I can find. I do believe you didn't get the matrix until around the time that Luna did, it's one of the "new" things on the site. EOD means End Of Day. POE means Process of Elimination, meaning you identify who you think is town and whoever is left is bad (thats a short-hand version of what it is). GTH does not mean Go To Hell, it means Gun to Head.

Another question along this line: why are sloonei and nova still alive? I hate asking these questions but paranoia over the NK is killing me. Maybe I just need sleep.

Maybe they killed luna so you'd start asking yourself these questions.

I guess it seems like to me everyone who's not mafia should have the question in their mind "why Luna?" They picked her for a reason, else why not take out the civ who is trying to help solve the game.

Well that's interesting. I would have thought they would pick me because I'm so active and she's not as active. May mean I'm on the wrong track and she was on the right track. Need to check that.

Ok, I didn't post any more points on Mongoose besides the final two because I was concentrating on the big picture. I don't like that she has let llama call her bad without standing up to him like she stood up to dunya. I'm worried about that post that looks like a slip but will wait for her to explain it. And I don't understand her comment about the game is young but will wait for her to explain it. I can at least conceive of a bad Mongoose but I don't have on my happy face while considering it.
