Re: Game Over! Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Are you implying that all Native Americans are followers?S~V~S wrote:It could also be civvies that play their roles as individuals rather than as members of a team; everyone wants to be a chief, no one wants to be an Indian. And civvies need Indians more than chiefs; too many chiefs, and the Indians lose interest. A trend I have noticed here is the civvies waste too much time suspecting each other becasue they are not even trying to play together or as a group.
I could be wrong, but IMO the games here are not any more out of, or in, balance than they are, or were, anywhere else
Seriously, I think the issue is more that, in a full game, there's 48 hours to talk, but many people (mostly civilians) will wait until the last few hours to "catch up" and vote. These people have not allowed themselves the luxury of processing and digesting the information. Then what ends up happening is that they vote between the two (or three) people who have the most votes (or self vote- even worse) and call it a day. They're okay because it isn't them. If I have one skill as a FEB, it's forcing the false dilemma between two civilians. And most of the time it works like a charm.

I find two reasons for the rampant string of Mafia victories:
1. Overpowered Mafia with an unbalanced ratio.
2. Apathetic or uninvested civilians.

Re: Day 1 Monty Python and the Holy Grail
First consider:
Like everyone else, the foes in this scenario would not have known that upon their demise at Night, they would be exposed as foes. Some pretense may be thus revealed.
MP was not a teammate. DF doesn't "know Enrique or Made at all" (no mention of Dana even though he's quoting her. No mention of Canucklehead either). That fits the "name two people who are not on your team and one who is" cliche. Then:
In the same post, Enrique said this to Made:
And DF is greeting Made.
Notice that he mentions Made a third(!) time. This is important because remember he said, "so tomorrow I'll go over their stuff and see what jumps out." He didn't go over anybody's stuff, but he still reminds us that he isn't sure about the "Made/Llama thing." At the time DF voted, Made could have been lynched.
DF votes for MR for no reason and had not mentioned him previously (note that Juliets also voted for MR for what in my opinion was a lame reason- Juliets was my #2 suspect by the end of Day 1).
"Also I forgot to mention above, Hedge is looking pretty shady now." That's random and tacked on as hell.
++++
I encourage people to look at all the names DF dropped, understanding that he most likely would NOT know that, were he killed, his alignment would be revealed.
My vote will go to one of those people.

Re: Day 1 Monty Python and the Holy Grail
My point was to let Made answer to see if his response jives with reality. Catching him in a(nother) lie is an excellent way to determine if someone is innocent or not. With other people answering for him, that can't happen.Enrique wrote:Jeez dude, this is not a witch hunt, we're actually trying to figure out whether he's innocent or not. If there's evidence on either side I'd like to see it posted.Epignosis wrote:Did you need to speak for Made on the subject? OK, gonna stop letting the end of the thread tempt me.S~V~S wrote:

Where did S~V~S use sarcastic orange?bea wrote:His in thread behavior has been odd to say the least and this new thing that I'm currently in linki over (the sarcastic orange) gives me some pause. I saw SVS use it but I don't know what it means even though I used it perfectly is eye raising. If you figured it out re:context - own up to your smart self sir! I know in at least one of MP's posts he made a comment (specificly to epi in regards to epi's suspicion of him that maybe mp's original statement should have been in orange) so yea. There's definitely thread ways you could have put two and two together yet you chose not to use that. TBH - this gives me a ping more than any of the stuff you've said the past eleventy billion pages.

Re: Day 1 Monty Python and the Holy Grail
"There's an OMGUS if I ever saw one" is an empty thing to say if "an OMGUS can range anywhere from a retaliatory vote to an inexplicable accusation."
