Ah... That explains it... though I, er, have opinions about that. It feels kind of bastard to have an open setup, make it clear that the Scion is tied to a specific role, and then remove the role but keep the Scion in play. There's no way to mechanically disprove the claim and the host is complicit in it.

Granted, that's the opinion of someone who subbed in LYLO. And I don't think it was necessarily hopeless; I did, after all, have you in the "probably confirmed" pile but not confirmed confirmed. Epi would've just been a much juicier target for me.

This! Bottom line, if there is a soup kill or indicative that there is a soup kill, it's best not to claim because it is designed to punish claiming. Yah.

Tend to agree. Soup is supposed to punish claiming but if fake claims come with abilities that “confirm” them as town per the front page...then claiming isn’t a powerful town ability that merits the wolves getting like 6 extra kills.

That said, it’s the town’s fault for handing those kills to the wolves and the wolves played a great game and the setup was overall very good.

I’m just saying as a general rule, both are probably unnecessary.

I low key agree, but imo balancing role madness in general is not a very easy... Its hard to say when "x" provided tool is simply too strong for one side. Repeated play throughs with similar roles w/ different rosters of players is going to yield widely different results every game. All the fun and the torture's of role madness is that there are a lot of weird scenarios that can arise, and its easy to over look stuff on the onset that will have a dramatic impact on the game later. So while I think that mafia having fake claims + soup kill is really strong, I also bet that a lot of unseen role interactions could have also made the set-up much too town sided.

Except for seemers, thats role is busted :P

Wasnt even in the game, and it had a dramatic impact on how D4/D5 went down.
